This came up in my introduction thread, so I thought I'd do as suggested there and make a thread here! Our own work is awesome, and we should be proud of it, plus, it'd be great to see what everyone has written.

So, list your completed works, and a once sentence "tag line" about the book. (For those of you who've seen it, like the scholastic book order forms you get in grade school, where they have a one sentence thingy to make you want to read. If the book is available, feel free to link!

*hopes all this sounds kosher as she's new*

The completed works of Ardyth in alphabetical order:

A School For Villains -- Danny's perhaps not the most obedient child, but he's hardly evil, so what's his father doing sending him to villain school and more importantly, how can he get out of it?
Captain Pit Bull and the Calico Avengers -- Captain Pit Bull is the scurviest cur to sail the seven seas, can a galley slave kitten find a way to defeat him?
Chosen Sister -- When her younger six-year-old brother is chosen as the "Child Warrior", Reina insists on coming along on his quest to protect him.
Dragon Boy -- When a young boy's village is destroyed by trolls, he makes a pledge to defeat the troll king before his naming.
Dragon Snot-- Kes the stable boy has a snotty problem on his hands when one of his charges has an allergic reaction to his dinner.
Dragon Wraith -- Torkin must leave his home to become of king of a place he can't remember and a people he doesn't even like or feels like he belongs to.
Miranda Makes Her First Million -- Miranda's family is falling apart, if she makes the million dollars her mother wants so badly, perhaps she can put them back together again.
Of Two Worlds -- Orrin loves both the human and the fay worlds, but must chose one of them forever before the sun sets on the eve of his sixteenth birthday.
Paladin Honor -- Sent in France in 773, Aude runs away from home dressed as a boy to attempt to become a paladin in King Charles court.
SewerHaven -- Merlin the ferret is lost on the streets of the city and has just offended a brutal gang of possums, his only hope to survive is to find the legendary SewerHaven below the city.
The Snow Lion of Rset -- Princess Minglian must chose between the man she loves and the suffering of the people of her birth.
Transfigured: A Pilgrim's Journey to Santiago -- In the year 2000, I decided to throw myself on the mercy of God like the Russian Pilgrims of old and just start walking towards the city of Santiago, this is the story of what God brought to me.
Wizards' Duel -- The wizard king has died without naming an heir, leaving a contest between the conniving Lord Cepthar and the young boy Zincu for the throne.

Who's next?

 You finished all all those? Wow, I'm really impressed! :D

The only "novel" I've finished was one I wrote for school, called Brianna. It was about a girl in the real world who finds out she's an elf... it was rather cliche, and only ended up being about 60 pages long.

Hopefully I'll be able to add more to my list in the near future! :D

I'm impressed too. Alas, all of my finished novels are ridiculous fanfics which have since passed into the depths of deleted writing. However, I plan to change that this coming year. :D

I am amassing a decent collection of finished short works, though. But I don't imagine you want me to list all those! :D

Your books sound fascinating, Ardyth! And what you wrote is essentially a "logline" - a one-sentence summary of the book. A logline is an essential tool in pitching and marketing books, in catalogs, to publishers... writing them is an art, and you're doing well!

Wow, that's quite the list! :D They sound wonderful.

I haven't any completed works of my own, at this point... Most of them are still in the writing stages, and one or two have been abandoned entirely. I did finish writing one, but it hasn't been edited yet, and may be included in the ones that have been abandoned

Me + finishing things = failure. :P

However! I do have a couple of books in which I was able to write "The End"...okay, one of them was "To Be Continued."

The first one I ever finished is only about 23,000 words and it doesn't have a title. One line tagline? Ehh...A noblewoman, her husband, and her brother seek to find the magician who imprisoned her husband for many years and put a stop to him.

Let's see...

Elementir. I'm still trying to come up with a one-sentence tagline for this. Hmm. Magic, science, and revenge gone wrong? It doesn't tell you a thing about it, though. :P
Alcaydan (sequel/continuation of Elementir): Kennith and his friends try to stop cold-blooded scientist Dr. Graywing before he can find any more humans or elementals to experiment on.

Both of those are a mix of sci-fi and fantasy, as you can probably tell, and they're only first drafts, so they're only sort of completed. :P

I don't think I really have any other novels completed. *shrug* If I remember another I'll come back and edit it in.

Wow! That's really impressive!
I just have a few fanfics in the works, a few that are running toward novel stage but not there yet. I've found I'm better at thinking up ideas than seeing them through. Ah well. I'm working on it.
If I could, I'd like to point out that pit bulls are some of the nicest, sweetest, most loyal (and in my case wimpiest) dogs you will ever meet

That sounds awesome! I really like that one. I'm of the opinion fanfiction and unedited but completely drafted novels count as "complete". Most of mine need more editing/revising.

Also, unlike Brain Jacques, I do not consider one species evil, be it dog or cat. The pirate dogs also feature Dobermans, Boxers, and Rottweilers, mostly chosen as breeds intimidating to cats. ;) I might need to work on the logline since the humor element doesn't come through (Arf, arf, Captain.) *is not sure how to make her text tiny in return and so makes it green*

I've never finished anything longer than 40 pages. :P The farthest I've gotten has been 120 pages.

Thanks for the tip on font! Let's see how it looks... hah!

Have you ever considered Nanowrimo, Willow? I never finished a novel until I wanted so bad to win that I had to keep going. ;) Most of those novels I wrote during Nanowrimo.

Also, I just write a lot... you should see my list of half-finished novels, it's even longer.

Actually, I did Nanowrimo this year and finished! for the first time! Unfortunately...just because you have 50K doesn't mean there isn't more to the story. :D

Thanks for mentioning it though! I've really been blessed by Nanowrimo.

Ooo! That sounds like me!!! :D

I have never finished any of my novels, but I have finished two short stories. I did write a fan fiction that was longer than any of my original works, it being 141 pages long. That is incredibly long for me!

The first one I wrote when I was 13 and it is 12 pages long in serious need of re-writing. It'll become a novella/novel someday. The second I finished in April 2010, and I am in the process of novella/novelizing it. :D

Friends with the Enemy: After a horrible accident resulting in the murder and burning down of her home, Makasi moves to the forest where she is captured by forest scouts who accuse her of being a enemy spy. In detainment she learns her childhood friend is one of her captors. A story about re-found friendship and perseverance. (12 pages long.)

The Crabapple Swing (secondary title since original title spoils everything.): Based in the Victorian Era, two very different children form a bond of friendship. Charlotte, the passionate, risk-taker and Lucius, the reserved and thoughtful one. Over the years the bond goes deeper and their love for each other grows. A story of emotion. (7 pages long.)

These are in chronological order, as best as I can remember. Somethings I need to go check the dates on my originals. I'm not good with one sentence taglines, but I did my best. I have excerpts on my website, and some of them I have the complete books up: katielynndaniels.com

They're only in chronological order if you count Lightning Ranger as 1. If you count it as 8 then it's a little mixed up. But that's a looooong story...

The Complete Works of Jaynin in Chronological Order.

Lightning Ranger (first and last)
He has a name he's afraid of, and a past he can't face, he's wanted by every law force in every kingdom on the earth, and more than anything he's afraid to die...

Prince of Yen (masterpiece)
Janin of Yen goes to the mortal world looking for vengeance but finds his destiny instead.

Legend of Darmoor
(2006)
Erin hears the song of an exiled fairy prince and gets drawn into the politics of another world.

Trice (2007)
After being rescued by a stranger who shares her name Trice Calloway must face her past while dealing with the increasingly infuriating Trice Chansen.

The Heroes of Ynoureth

The Land of Ynoureth can only be saved from certain doom by an ancient relic that can only be found by seven unlikely heroes.

The Last Wizard
(2008)
The son of a wizard, all Morgon wanted was to be a healer, but distant relatives have other plans for him.

The Justice Project (2009)
A lonely half-blood alien is on the run from two world governments after stealing their top secret research project--a mysterious young girl.

Keepers of Dylann Book One: The Gatekeeper's Secret
(nano 2009)
Thrust unwillingly into a subterranean world Rolf must find a way to help his companions escape and to restore the ancient civilization of Dylann.

City of Lies (nano 2010)
A military captain discovers the truth about the system he works for.

Time Shift(Nano 2011)
An alien prince in cryogenic sleep dreams out his existence as a teenage superhero on planet Earth.

Supervillain of the Day - Season 1 (2012 - published 2013)
When the world is overrun by supervillains a skeptical policeman teams up with an enigmatic reporter to stop the forces of evil.

Supervillain of the Day
Fire and Ashes
Inspector Floyd
Supervillain Hunters, International
Dreams and Shadows
Supervillains of London
Silent Night

Supervillain of the Day - Season 2(2013 - published 2014)
Putting this here because it will probably be finished before I get around to updating again...

The Rhymer
Superhero of the Day
The Remarkable Time Travel Adventures of Sir Joseph, Sir Jeffry, and Lady Katherine Marie
Lady Kate and the Knights of the Yard
The Supervillain Prevention Society
Supervillains in Outer Space

Oh, if anyone would like to read the drafts for any of these, (Except Lightning Ranger which technically hasn't been written, Prince of Yen which is in a million pieces, and Heroes of Ynoureth which hasn't been typed up,) PM me and I'll happily send them to you. I'm always looking for feedback on early and recent works. Some of my works are not quite finished, some I'm trying to rewrite and need a fresh perspective on, and some I'm stubbornly determined to label "finished" and leave them as they are. :D

Oooh, I like the sound of "Friends with the Enemy" and "Prince of Yen" especially.

Editing always takes forever, sigh. Not that I want to scare all of you working so hard to finish something, but my goodness, in some ways, doing the rough draft is the easy part. ;)

Doing a rough draft is easy. Editing takes years where drafting takes weeks, in my case at least.

We should create a repository so we can read each others work. It doesn't have to be published, just finished.

My one completed novel was a romance I wrote when I was about 11-14, it has about 70 chapters and has never been titled! Now I read it and laugh; it's quite sweet really but not something I'd ever let anyone else read hehe! They'd find it very comical I think.

No summaries? All of these titles sound really neat.

 Sorry. ;) I'll get them up quickly.

Rocks at reviving old threads. Sucks at loglines. But I will try.

List of completed stories by Balec Verge (In chronological written order)

Leak Duology: My very first story that takes place in my Combined Universe (See link for general description). Written in 2010, involving my stuffed animals, but had it written in some sort of script-like thing that had the character's name then their dialogue. So I copied and pasted the entire thing into my word processor and then turned it into a third-person story. (18,840 words)

Leakian Defense Wing: Volume One: Story in the Combined Universe that takes place in August 2011, for the most part. Originally intended for a bunch of short stories following starships in the LDW, but that failed. (16,162 words)

Star Wars: Resistance: Originally intended to be a nice, at least 20k (I predicted) story that would involve the Borg from Star Trek being a victim of one of Q's tricks and ending up in the Star Wars Universe during the Clone Wars. Ended up being a very short short story that was written and completed on the same day. (934 words)

Leakians: History - Genesis: Part of the Combined Universe. Documentary-style story that follows a Leakian (stuffed animal) taking the role of a reporter that tries to shed light on the beginning of the Shard War that began in November 2011. (5,783 words)

Shard Empire-KCKI War: My first major story - Part of the Combined Universe. Takes place between November 2011-June 2012. Depicts the entirety of the aforementioned Shard War, following the crew of a starship, while taking occasional jumps back to the KCKI capital for the administrative and political side of things. (56,650 words)

KCKI: The Grigari Threat: Part of the Combined Universe. Sequel to Shard Empire-KCKI War. The story is set in November-December 2012.
Let's try a logline! No, more like a synopsis...: It has been five months since the signing of the Shard War Accords, and with a tactical and economic crisis after the loss of ships and resource spending, the KCKI turn to rebuilding their fleet and restoring their worlds. The aftermath of the exhausting war takes its toll on the citizens of the KCKI. Yet in the darkness, an old, and yet entirely new race is waiting for the right time to strike. The Grigari brutally destroy a starbase on the edge of Romulan space, leaving no survivors as they emerge from the fringes of the Beta Quadrant, looking to conquer the KCKI. One question sounds in the minds of the Assembly. Why? The flagship of the KCKI will now face one of their most challenging assignments ever – diplomatic negotiations with this highly advanced and seemingly callous race. Without a peaceful resolution, the KCKI will be drawn into another war that they will not survive.^That would be centered and spaced.
(19,606 words)

Okay, so I doubt these are loglines...Still. Oh, one more thing - as cheesy/kiddie as the whole stuffed-animal thing goes - It's a name that stuck. They used to stop leaks by using make-shift dams (blankets) It was cheesy back then, but now it's quite dramatic. :)

Learning to Heal the Hurt: Fire Red - Finished sometime in 2006. 96 page, 47,000 word Pokemon fanfiction I wrote in 8th grade. Let's not even go there.

Eglantine (currently untitled, I just call it by the main character's name) - Finished December 28, 2012 (yesterday!!). 238 pages, 110,000 words. After her uncle's death, 17-year-old Eglantine Zervos finds herself caught up in a brewing war between the Empire and the northern tribes, a feud between three sisters who are more than they seem, and a ghostly, frenzied host that only she holds the key to set free.

The Bear in the Snow - Finished November 15, 2012 - 3,700 word short story - Elina's brother Hallgeir is the rightful heir to their father's throne, but her cousin Thorbrand's cruel ways might win the people's favor. When Hallgeir and Thorbrand set out on a quest to slay a legendary white wolf, Elina's encounter with a great white bear might be the only hope her brother has to win his birthright.

Indiana Jones and the Lost World - 2008 - A fanfiction in which Indiana Jones and two young sidekicks find a lost world where dinosaurs live and talk. In English.

Indiana Jones and the Outlaws - 2009 - A fanfiction in which Indiana Jones and those two young sidekicks from above go back in time to the Wild West.

Sangre: The Phantom's Lair - 2010 - A self-published novel where a band of pirates are charged with the mission of defeating the Phantom, a monster who has been terrorizing the Caribbean for centuries.

Destiny - 2011 - This was a fantasy novel. However, I've made many changes to the plot and characters, decided to turn it into a trilogy, and re-named it. So Destiny was kind of scrapped. :P

The Night Phoenix - 2011 - A novel I hope to get professionally published. Viggo Steele and his friends need to return a talisman to the Night Phoenix before an evil brotherhood gets a hold of it.

And that's it. :P The last one needs a lot of editing. I had somebody edit it for me, and was rather appalled at all the mistakes I made.

Princess of Redwall: I wrote this when I was . . . ten? Eleven? We do not speak of this now, but it was a Redwall fanfiction, and it was the longest thing I had ever written at the time.
Timeless: Another fanfiction, in which the Fantastic Four’s kids go time-travelling by accident.
Gilded Sky: A winged boy, who lives in an opulent floating city, searches for his brother, only to find him living in the slums on the surface.
Silverwood: When werewolf hunters enter a town of shapeshifters, the townspeople plan to avoid them or even evacuate, but not everyone follows the plan.
NaNo 2010: It had vampires. We do not speak of this EVER.
Illyria: When her little brother falls through a portal into another world, Leda and her cousin Will follow him, but end up on the opposite side of the world by mistake.
The Lesser Gods of Asgard: Another fanfiction, this one about the Avengers. Thor and his family face an invasion.
Expiration Date (NaNo 2011): A super-powered secret agent poses as a normal citizen, but his mission is interrupted when he stumbles across a string of murders. We speak of this slightly more than NaNo 2010.
Arms of Gold: Four kids wander through a mysterious set of caves, searching for a long-lost hero who may not be as heroic as they thought.
NaNo 2012: Pri, a human shepherdess, and Solivahn, prince of the stars, are the unlikeliest of friends, but when Solivahn is poisoned, Pri sets out to find an antidote. Currently in the editing stage because yes, we do speak of this one.

Wow. Everyone's written so many books.

Four Staffs This is the first 'book' I wrote. It's about a group of 11-year-olds (I think) who have to find swords of power to keep them from evildoers. I finished it in 2007ish
Transported The reboot of Four Staffs. Similar plotline, but it involved someone from Earth being transported to another world to find the items of power (staffs this time) and destroy them.

The Missing Kitten A story I wrote for my younger sister. Cats are the main characters and they are tasked with finding a missing kitten, who happens to be smack-dab in the middle of a planned invasion on the farm.
Trapped The Sequel to the Missing Kitten, in which the same Kitten (now a bit older) gets stuck in a cave, then kidnapped, and the cats must rescue him. Along the way, they must stop yet another invasion upon the farm.

The Conspiracy A book written from a cowdog's point of view. He must stop the cows from killing all the humans on the farm.

The Battle of Gibeah A story based of the last two chapters of Judges. Following a young girl who got kidnapped by a Benjamite forced to become his wife. This is my one and only romance.

The Big Move A story about Stuffed cow who moves to a town and discovers secret tunnels and mysterious happenings. Based off the stories of my siblings and I playing with our stuffed animals.
The Water Festival The sequel of a rebooted The Big Move. Involves the aforementioned cow's little brother (who I changed to a human) who must stop a newcomer to the town from supposedly poisoning the town festival.

Not as They Seem A book needing of much editing and rewriting in which a trio of kids must stop a man from taking over their town.

A Storybook Devotional A book with a installment of a story for each day, and a moral which I pulled out of thin air.

There you go. Those are the full length books (ranging from 12,000 words to 120,000) which I've actually finished. I've written a great amount of short stories, but I've not the resources or the time to track them down.

The Scavenger Hunt (Contemporary Fiction): Rough draft completed and needs a complete rewrite which will include changing a LOT of the story. Summary: After his grandfather dies, a spoiled young man is forced to go on a scavenger hunt for his inheritance. The hunt leads him through many life lessons, including, but not limited to: who his real friends are, how to live a godly life, how to control his anger, and how to be a real friend.

A Mighty Fortress (Historical Fiction/Western): The first draft is complete and is currently being edited. It is roughly 43,000 words right now, but could (and probably will) expand by at least another 1,000 words. Logline: After their stagecoach is attacked by outlaws, an adventurous young man and his timid sister are forced to find their way to a town through barely populated territory while being pursued by one of the murderous outlaws with problems of his own.

I'm sure I have at least one more, but I can't think of it at the moment. :P

*chirping crickets*
*wind rustles*
*Varon begins to edge away*

Oh! I co-wrote a roughly 16k novella for a contest on Facebook.

Title: The Gunrunner
Summary: Roland O'Carroll is a cynical contract gunrunner working for the ruling Third Reich with his only priority is cold, hard cash and survival. When the local commander executes a young man that really admired Roland, his priorities are shaken. They are shaken further when the Reich abducts innocent civilians and threatens to execute them if the in the area don't surrender. One of them is Roland's daughter whom he abandoned before she was born. With twenty years of fatherly instinct threatening to burst out, Roland must make a choice between escaping to another part of the world, or rescuing the daughter who hates him.

My one completed novel was a romance I wrote when I was about 11-14, it has about 70 chapters and has never been titled! Now I read it and laugh; it's quite sweet really but not something I'd ever let anyone else read hehe! They'd find it very comical I think.

Maybe you should publish it as a romantic comedy. ;)

Hm, I hate saying 'finished' because it makes it sound...well, finished. I have rough drafts, not complete stories. XD

But, finished drafts:
A Rose By Any Other Name, an old NaNo project and the one story I've written so much romance into: Tyrr is on the brink of civil war, which threatens everything Ashlyn knows, but when an infamous pirate kidnaps her by accident and shows her the evils of her own country's past, her loyalties are torn as her family and friend Dael rush to her rescue.

Shadowed Moon, my first novel project: Lara's newfound ability to hear the language of beasts marks her as a witch and she's forced to escape into the refuge of an eccentric dragon and a snarky wolf--who might want to kill her--as they battle a returning sorcerer and his quest for power.

Until the Fire Falls, my novel from two NaNo seasons ago: When an alchemical phoenix apprentices a young lad to his trade, he also sends the boy on a desperate search to find the cure to a plague which threatens all the fire creatures—before the disease spreads and all those who depend upon it, including the phoenix himself, die. Before the fire goes out forever.

And last but not least:
The Last Storming, my latest NaNo and first attempt at Steampunk: Lieshellyk City comes undone when a thief girl and the grandson of its founder form both a friendship and an alliance to discover the truth behind the city's construction, and that of the Stormings which keep them bound inside its dark corridors.

I have one:

Qwind's Quest
When Qwind turned thirteen, his whole entire life seems new, being taught at home, he studies hard to join the army.

Then, he stepped into the Vault.

Everything gets even more complicated, once he learns about The Quest.

With the help of five friends he goes to an unfriendly empire and to an uncharted land, inheriting cool suits, they begin. Hoping not to destroy, break friendly ties, and anything that is in the way of Qwind’s father’s desire.

But does there Quest end up just with destiny? Or is the Quest within another Quest?

Okay, okay, all the drama over.

I had this mini series as a school project. Adventures of Bill I think that was the name, it most likely has only less than a hundred words. I have two or three of them, I think. Not sure. But they are complete.

Most of these take place in the Combined Universe.

Too lazy and short on time right now to put loglines, sorry. I might edit some in later.

All of these are rough drafts, minimally edited due to the need to complete them as to not allow too much time to pass (All stories are in real-time using Earth calendar)

Leak Duology (18,840 words)
Leakian Defense Wing: Volume One (16,162 words)
Star Wars: Resistance (934 words)
Leakians: History - Genesis (5,783 words)
