The dwyrdraegyn (dwirr-dray-gon) are the water dragons. They are mostly controlled by the naiads.

The dwyrdraegyns’ eyes are round and lavender, and their snouts are long with round ends. They do not have noticeable ears. Their heads are mostly white, with a pale lavender streak down their foreheads. The dwyrdraegyns’ bodies are smallish, around the size of a Great Dane, and they are of medium build. They are white with a pale lavender streak down their back. Their short legs and feet are of a medium thickness, and are a white color with pale lavender claws. Their tail is large, and about half as long as their body. It is whale-like, and white, with a pale lavender streak running down it. They have short fins that are white with pale lavender veins running through them.

The dwyrdraegyn are semi-sapient. They are able to breath and throw water. They are ridden by naiads, and used for battle. Most dwyrdraegyn are tamed, but the tamed rarely give birth. The untamed give birth to two young at a time, which hatch from lavender eggs. Dwyrdraegyn can live for up to one hundred years. Their call is an high pitched roar that can be hear for miles. They are protective, stubborn, somewhat grumpy, and can only be controlled by their rider.

The things I have outlined here are what is usually the case. It is possible for dwyrdraegyn to differ from this description. Those who do are either adored or shunned. If you have any questions about why I made them a certain way, ask away! It will help me to solidify them.

They sound so sweet and cute! And very lavender, which is an attractive color not mentioned much in fantasy works.

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Wait, do they look like whales or do their tails look like whale tails?

It may be just me, but they sound like an evolutionary creature. :) However, I do like the lavender.

*warm fuzzy feelings*

HOW CUTE! I would love to meet one.:)

I have a few questions!

1. How are they tamed and trained?

2. What are their weaknesses?

3. What are they used for?

Nessa- She's given up the veil, the vows she'd sworn, abandoned every effort to conform. Without a word to anyone she's gone her way alone, a dove escaping back into the storm.

Nolan- And though I don't understand why this happened, I know that I will when I look back someday, and see how you've brought beauty from ashes, and made me as gold purified through the flames.

Azriel- And who do you think you are, running round leaving scars, collecting your jar of hearts, and tearing love apart? You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul, so don't come back to me. Don't come back at all...

The naiads use them for mounts and battle.

I'll have to get back to you on the other questions. :)
