It snowed today! I mean it! I can't believe it, it never snows here. There's not much about, just a tiny frosting....but still!

Lucky! It snowed once here and that was only a little bit that didn't last more than a few hours.

Random Factoid the Second: I ran madly from Doctor Who and managed to escape it for almost an entire year, a fact of which I am most proud. However, my sister eventually sucked me in.

It didn't snow for long though, and now it's all just ice; very icy around, and very slippy which is not fun.


I groomed a gorgeous white Schnauzer today.

Random Factoid the Third: I make almost all my own jewelry.

White Schnauzers are very rare, which is why I was thrilled to be able to groom one. I had seen pictures of them, but today was the first time I actually met one.

Random fact: My dad is "spiderman". Aka, my mom will see a brown recluse creeping around somewhere and yell for Spiderman to come save her, and my dad will burst in striking 'heroic' poses and squish it for her. It's very amusing to watch.

Noelle came home exactly one month ago. (And got wrecked exactly two months before that, but we won't dwell on that...)

1. I get stage fright, I have a needle phobia, and I've still not outgrown my childhood fear of the dark.

2. The first story I wrote was when I was 7 and started a "diary" writing about my day in third-person, probably modeled after the Laura Ingall's books.

3. From the time I was 5 - and I'd shown artistic tendencies before then - I wanted to be an artist (a Mother first, of course). When I discovered I could actually like non-diary writing when I was 9 or 10, I wanted to be an author who illustrated her own books. When I was 13 I realized I just wanted to write. But I'm still an artist. Where that talent is to go, I don't know.

4. My hair is curly and down to my lower back.

5. My eyes are not brown. My Mother identified them as "chocolate drop eyes" quite some time ago.

6. I'm an INTJ, the rarest Meyers-Brigg personality type for a female. That's probably my Dad's fault, him also being an INTJ. I think I may also be an INFJ crossover.

7. Orson Scott Card's Ender Game introduced me to hard science fiction when I was 13 and everything else in the reward basket at my library's reading program was rubbish. Though I have played with many fantasy and science fiction subgenres, my aspiration is hard science fiction.

8. I'm Holy World's token theological nutcase with probably the most bizarre spiritual gene pool. Which means I'm not Jewish, but follow a type of Judaism that knows Jesus was the Messiah. My grandparents were evangelical missionaries to Mexico. Go back a couple generations, and you get Mennonites. Go back even further - back to the Old World, actually - and you do get Jews. If you split off at the right moment, you get whatever Kansas Indians cooked up for religion. And on my Mother's side is an Irish family that has never been Catholic. But back to me. Judaism's great.

9. I'm Scotts-Irish, German-Switz, Kansan-Indian, Cherokee-Indian, and toss a little English and French in there for good measure. Jewishness is matrilineal, tho, which is how I can have Jewish ancestry without actually being Jewish. I'm a 100% American mutt and proud of it.

10. I've been homeschooled all my life. That was a prerequirement from my Dad on my parents' marriage, actually! I love it and wouldn't want to do anything else for my kiddos.
