Sarraths live in the land of Golthem. A sarrath has a body similar to a snake, it also has wings, they have very evil looking horns sticking out of the top of their heads, and are servants of the evil Macanites … They are only seen when they want to be and all sarraths are bad.

It has sharp poisonous spikes all around the top of its head... Its head shape is similar to a dragon's head. D:

The explorer Quin found them on an island in the south... As the island was dark and evil looking he suspected that an evil tribe lived there once... To be exact it's a mystery!!! :0

So what distinguishes Sarraths from dragons? *thinks from the description that they seem pretty similar, except for that Sarraths can turn invisible, and is having trouble picturing a Sarrath as something other than a dragon

So how big are they, then? As big as a normal snake with wings, or bigger?

They are about 1ft long. They have no legs and they are dark brown with red diamond shapes down their back...

Ooh, coolness! You say Sarraths are evil - how exactly, might I ask? Are they aggressive towards people? Are they magical, or do they use poison? What do they eat? :D *Is interested in hearing more about these guys*

By evil I mean that they are an animal (if they are that :) ) that the 5 tribes of Alam (people in my book...) always have to deal with because they attack their villages... To all people they are aggressive towards except the Macanites (an evil tribe). Their diet is unknown by the author :)

OK, so they originally came from the Island of Sarraths discovered by Andray. He brought some back to his home land where they escaped. The descendants of these escaped Sarraths live in the deserts of kunabi. It is probably hard to understand this, so when I get a world sub-forum I shall go into this more deeply.

Well, they don't breath fire, I was thinking of having them spit an acid that slowly makes your body deteriorate. What are your thoughts?

Well, it is inspired by the snake in the Garden of Eden when the snakes had feet. But the main size is of a python or a boa constrictor.

There is a story I read (more of an account – it was not written as fiction, and I think there is controversy over whether it was a true story or not) about little dragonlike creatures that burned with acid on contact. Someone saw them sucking milk from their cows and when they examined the cows they were scorched with some sort of acid where the beasts touched them. (Don't trust me on the exact details, I haven't read it recently.)

After The Flood was where I read it, but it isn't specifically about dragons – it just has a chapter or so on them, I believe. * goes and checks where the book said it got the account about the acid dragons *

K...I got several different accounts mixed up, actually, as well as something my brother told me about (I think) that I don't know where it came from. Unfortunately the thing about acid was the one not in the book.... :P But one thing of interest that I read was that one of the accounts mentions a beast that reportedly spat at a couple of people and killed them by the venom.
