I am currently writing about a whole new world with a friend of mine. This world has no connection to earth whatsoever. I know I want the Christian religion to be in this world, but will it sound weird since its in a whole different universe? Also, I don't really know how to give my people a background with God. I don't want it to sound like they just believe in something that makes no sense. Any ideas?

I can try to help. :)

The premise is that God made that world even though it isn't the same as ours--He makes things for His own glory, and when he made sentient beings in our case, the purpose was to make beings that would glorify Him, carry His image, etc. And so he reached out to us--Adam knew God from the moment he was created. Your world should have its own creation story (doesn't have to have a detailed one or anything), in which God has made Himself known to your world. Your world will have its own relationship with God depending on what kind of things happen in it--will the fall take place early on, or a few generations down, so that not everyone is (immediately and fully) affected by it? Stuff like that.

I hope that helps some...

Good thoughts, Lycanis!
R. Mae--have you read C.S. Lewis' space trilogy? I think it's interesting the way he handled this issue.

How has this been going for you, Mae? Have you made progress? :)

Look at my world of Ska'Lah'Seh and see if that gives you any Ideas. Also look at Narnia, and the Silmarillion.
