Hi, my name is Rebekah. I joined Holy Worlds a few months ago, but have been far to busy to be able to participate in the forum since. I learned about the forum through Aubrey Hansen. :)

About me: I am a Bible believing, born again, Christian. I am the eldest in a family of several children and I am twenty-two years old.

About my writing: I am currently an unpublished writer. LORD willing, I hope to change that in the very near future. I usually write Contemporary Conservative Christian Fiction. I think most of my books might be technically called Young Adult Fiction, but I’m really not all that sure. I love to take multiple story-lines and weave them into a complicated, yet cohesive tapestry. Most of my books take place in the same (fictional) area of the United States. Occasionally my characters from one book will appear in another, but I have yet to actually write a series. All of my books so far stand-alone. Currently I’m working to publish a children’s book, finish my first full-length novel, and preparing notes for this year’s NaNoWriMo. (Which LORD willing, I plan to join this year for the first time.)

Other things I write include poetry, book reviews, essays, blog posts, songs, and short stories. I have yet to try journalism, but other than that, I’ve tried writing in almost every form, including e-mails, letters, and journal entries.

Besides writing, I also love to read. My favorite authors include Jules Verne, Chautona Havig, Charles Dickens, Agatha Christie, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Besides my every going writing studies, I’m studying music, drawing, singing, and history, all while perfecting my skills as a homemaker.

I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hullo, Rebekah! Welcome to Holy Worlds!

What will you write about this NaNo? What's your favorite Charles Dickens book? :)

See you around!

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Rebekah! What is your children's book about?

I'm considering joining NaNo for the first time this year, too. :D

What are your favorite kinds of music? What do you like to draw?

Thank you for the welcome! :)

My Nano Project: Prevented by Twelve: While on his way to commit suicide, a grieving young man finds his life changed by twelve very different people.

My favorite Charles Dickens book? A Tale of Two Cities. Nicholas Nickleby and A Christmas Carol are next though. :D

Thank you for the welcome! :D

My children's book is a series of vignettes about the lessons and adventures of a homeschooling family. I'm afraid I don't have a logline for it... I can't get one to work with a series of vignettes yet. :)

I especially enjoy soundtracks, as well as music by Gabriel Hudelson. But when I'm singing, I love hymns and psalms. Then again, if I'm playing the piano I like to play almost all of the above and then anything else that catches my fancy! :D

I enjoy drawing portraits. So far I draw from photographs, but someday I would love to master the art of drawing a portrait freehand with the person sitting in front of me. That's a ways in the future though. :D

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Rebekah!

What are your favourite hymns to sing?

I have always enjoyed Agatha Christie! I think Poirot is my favourite out of her books; but I enjoy Miss Marple as well, and some of the Tommy and Tuppence mysteries. Which are your favourite?

Wow, that's an interesting plot!

I haven't read Nicholas Nickleby, but A Tale of Two Cities is among my top favorites. :)

The world needs more fiction about homeschoolers.

Oooh, that's a hard question! I love Be Thou My Vision, It is Well, All Hail the Power, and Crown Him with Many Crowns. But there are so many others - I could probably go on for an entire page at least! I do love Be Thou My Vision though, perhaps the best. It's such a beautiful hymn with a beautiful meaning.

Hmm... I know my favorite book I've read of hers so far was The Mysterious Affair at Styles. I'm not sure though if Monsieur Poirot is my favorite, or Miss Marple, when it comes to characters. I like them both. Though Monsieur Poirot makes me laugh more. :P As for Tommy and Tuppence - I've only read the first book about them. I didn't care much for Tuppence, but I liked Tommy. :D

I forgot to add classical music to that list. How I missed typing that, I have no idea. Mr. Handel is my favorite classical composer right now, I think. :D

I haven't really drawn any animals yet. They look... really hard! I may have drawn one cat... and that's all I can recall right now. I'm thinking I may try to learn though. :)

Welcome to HW, Rebekah. It sounds like you lead a fun and busy life. I love Sherlock Holmes mysteries. Which one is your favorite? I haven't read any yet, but I've seen a number of the old 1940s movies and have listened to some on audio.

Be Thou My Vision is one of my favorite hymns, too. In fact, I'm learning a Celtic setting version on the piano. :)

Classical music is my absolute favorite! And I LOVE Handel! Which of his works is your favorite? Mine is the Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah. That might be my favorite song ever.

Hope to see you around the forum. It's always fun to see new faces...well, not literally, but you know what I mean. ;)

My favorite Sherlock Holmes? Possibly The Hound of the Baskervilles. It's been awhile since I read all of them, but I have re-read that one more than once.

For Unto Us a Child is Born, though I love The Messiah in general! :D

We sang Crown Him with Many Crowns at church this morning! :D It Is Well is a brilliant one too. I love the deep words of the hymns.

Aaah, The Mysterious Affair at Styles is a good one, but I have enjoyed others more. :) Do you watch the David Suchet Poirot movies?

I'm not sure yet. My little sister tried to make me promise that I would. :D I love my characters, I'm just not sure if I could come up with a book worth of new stories, without becoming exhausting and repetitive. Does that make sense?

Have you tried using a grid? I wasn't much good at drawing either until I started using a grid and got a book to help me with some of the hard parts. :D

What others have you enjoyed more?

I have seen most of the 1 hour episodes, as well as 3 or 4 or the full length movies. We've really enjoyed them. The only one I really didn't like was Murder on the Orient Express - the book was way better in my opinion, as well as the old Albert Finney version of the film. :D

Greetings Rebekah!

Which Charles Dickens' book is your favorite? Mine is " A tale of two cities!" My real name is Rebecca(different spelling)! Welcome to Holyworlds! :D :dieshappy:

Thank you!

My favorite of Mr. Dicken's books is A Tale of Two Cities as well. :D Runners up would be Nicholas Nickleby and A Christmas Carol. :D

Aaah, The Mysterious Affair at Styles is a good one, but I have enjoyed others more. :) Do you watch the David Suchet Poirot movies?

What others have you enjoyed more?

I have seen most of the 1 hour episodes, as well as 3 or 4 or the full length movies. We've really enjoyed them. The only one I really didn't like was Murder on the Orient Express - the book was way better in my opinion, as well as the old Albert Finney version of the film. :D

I really like the book of Mrs McGinty's Dead, and I love the book of Murder on the Orient Express. I probably enjoyed a lot over Mysterious Affair at Styles. It wasn't one of my favourites. :)

Yes, there are a few I haven't overly enjoyed of the films, one of them being Taken At The Flood, I really don't like that one. But I love most of the others. We have the whole collection now, bar the ones that are coming out in 2013. *Nods* No We didn't really like Murder on the Orient Express either.

Mrs. McGinty's Dead... I'm sure I haven't read that one yet. I'll have to find it.

Murder on the Orient Express
is a good one! :D

The Rainbow in the Storm- My Blog

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)
