Okay, in the last thread, I asked who you would want to meet from the past. So I think it's only fitting that we move along to the present.

If you had an evening to spend with anyone currently living, who would you choose and why?

Oh, and that doesn't include anyone not on earth. (That was for you, Bushy. ;) )

Sorry, Wolf, only one. :'( This wasn't so much for HWers but other interesting and/or famous people.

But...We could create a new thread specifically for HW members you want to meet. How does that sound?

Er... that'd be a really short thread. Everyone would say, "I want to meet everyone!" ;)

Okay, currently living famous etc. person I'd like to meet, hrm... Is it a bad thing if I've already met them? Okay, but for second place right at this moment, I would like to meet ThePianoGuys.

Oooh... Interesting idea... Hmmm, maybe to discuss writing with Wayne Thomas Batson but I'm not sure yet... I might have a better answer later today...

I can't think of anyone I'd want to meet either. :? I shall have to think on this some more.

I'd like to meet a lot of people, like John Schlitt from Petra, Matthew West, and Steven Curtis Chapman. :D

AHHHHHHHHHHHH SO MANY TO CHOOOOOSEEE

Top five. 'Cos I can't choose just one. XDD

1. Viggo Mortensen (as Seer will be willing to testify)
2. Sean Bean
3. Billy Boyd
4. Robert Carlyle
5. Brandon Mull
6. Wayne Thomas Batson

Yes, all actors except for the last two, who are writers. Yes, I did six instead of five. It was too hard to choose. Yes, three of them are LOTR actors! I'm obsessed, okay?! No judging. :P

Are you kidding? You'd be more likely to get judged if you didn't like LOTR. I'm a fanatic, too, but I have to admit that none of those crossed my mind.

Sometimes I think it would be cool to meet one of my favorite sports players simply so I could share the Gospel with them and tell them that there's more to life than winning trophies that won't last.

*nods* That was what I was thinking, too. But I have too many favorites, and I can't make up my mind on which particular one I'd like to meet.

...perhaps it's because I just don't want to meet them, but establish a friendship with whoever it is that I want to meet.

'tis, 'tis. Fortunately I don't see those people much anymore. Well... I obviously still see my mom, but I can avoid her LOTR grievances most of the time.

*grins* Everyone has been trying for two years to convert me, so unless you have new methods, I doubt you will succeed. ;)

Anyhoo, rerailing the topic... :D

I've often had a curiosity for meeting some famous actors. Mostly because I'd like to commend them on their portrayal of an interesting character from a nerdy writerly point of view, :D but also to see just what kind of person they are apart from a character. I've heard a lot of actors struggle with being just them because they become so accustomed to being "someone else". Makes me wonder how many people appreciate them for who they are, instead of simply fangirling over the characters they bring to life. :/ I get the feeling that being a celebrity with all its glitz and glamour isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I only want to meet actors because I respect and appreciate them. Like, Viggo Mortensen is an extremely epic poet, not just an actor.

I do fangirl (like Dusteh... *cough*), but I wouldn't with the actual actors.

*grins* I'll admit, I fangirl a bit sometimes. ;) But you're right, it's generally over the character not the actor. We're writers, we're allowed to do that. ;) :D

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

I have only heard one of his sermons, and I remember it having a really challenging message. :)

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king

J. R. R. Tolkien

mmmm not so bad. I'd say Paul Washer as I love his sermons and quite frankly I reckon more should hear him and preach like him

*chuckles * Paul is a friend of the family. :) His wife is amazing, too.

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Yes, it was that one, Legatus.

I didn't know that, Airi! :)

Yeah. It's not necessarily something I advertise, but since people were talking about wanting to meet him... I don't get to see them much anymore since they moved, but we try to see them when we can.
