Hi, I'm Ben. If you've ever been to the logline threads you've met my brother Jordan.

I've written one screenplay, and I'm working on my second. I'm also worldbuilding a fantasy land that will eventually become a novel.

BEN!!! *flyingtackleglomp* (I've always wanted to do that and he won't know what in the world I'm talking about, I'm pretty sure! )

Ben is my younger brother. He's credited as a test reader in my logline book, so you know he's awesome.

Hello, Ben, glad to have you. Screenplays, eh? What about? Fantasy novels are great, too.

Have fun browsing the brilliance and hilarity that is HW Fantasy Forum. :D

My first screenplay is based on the fairytale The Goose Girl. My unfinished screenplay is (loosely) based on one of the very first films my brother made. The original was about spies, but I'm not sure if my rewrite is technically about spies anymore.

Thanks for the welcomes, everybody! :dieshappy:

In no particular order:
Bryan Davis, C. S. Lewis, L. Frank Baum, Astrid Lindgren, Charles Dickens, Wayne Thomas Batson, George MacDonald, Donita K. Paul, J. R. R. Tolkien, Frances Hodgson Burnett, Lloyd Alexander, and others I couldn't see on the shelves from where I'm sitting. ;)

*gasp* You like Dickens, Ben? *adores Dickens* What are some of your favorite Dickens books? I like all I've read, but A Tale of Two Cities and David Copperfield are probably my favorites. :)

Dickens favorites... Um... Tale of Two Cities, Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol.

I need to read David Copperfield again. I read it years and years ago and hardly remember it... Although, that didn't stop me from naming a villain in my screenplay after Uriah Heep.

The Pickwick Papers is probably my least favorite, but it was interesting to read since it was his first novel.

Have you read Great Expectations? The edition I read had both of the endings, and it was fun to compare them. Suppose I should read that again...

Okay, my reading list is much longer now. :dieshappy:

Yay for A Tale of Two Cities! :dieshappy: And I like A Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist, too. I need to reread Oliver Twist, I think I last read it almost ten years ago...

*grins* Good for you... Uriah was a creep if I ever saw one. ;) Yes, you should reread it.

I agree, The Pickwick Papers was probably his poorest work (being completely plotless ) but I fell in love with the characters, anyhow.

Yes, I've read Great Expectations, it's very good. :D My version had both endings too... I liked the changed version. It was much nicer.

I think the only other one I've read so far is Bleak House, which is good though not my favorite. I have some more I need to read, though...
