(I should have started a thread like this awhile ago )

From now till the end of the summer is shaping up to be crazy for me. So this is my on and off thread for the rest of it (That means you mods can go and archive the old ones).

I didn't expect things to get this crazy this fast. Here is the rough schedule for the summer, with some gaps as I am unaware of dates.

July 26-31 ish - I'm going out to visit the friends my sister is staying with while she works there. It should be really fun to see the friends again too. They live about three hours away. I leave on Saturday for their place, but before that, I have a sleepover with a friend, am skyping into the Georgia HW convention, and am doing a coloring marathon to finish this Gryphon before leaving. Wish me luck.

August 2-12 - Volunteering at this camp. It's a very special camp, a camp for families that have disabled children. There will be some internet, but it's sporadic and I'll be busy (They have horses! ).

Either the weekend of August 18-19 - Moosejaw (We have odd town names) Soap Box Derby race. A busy and fun weekend in which I race a small gravity racer car down at hill at 45k ish and have a lot of fun.

August 27 - September 3 - Canoe Camp! I'm so excited. It's gonna be awesome. I get to go on the trip this year, so that will be about a week of camping and canoeing and campfireing and awesomeness, with zero internet.

Month of August - Camp NaNo! Yes, I am completely crazy to even try this with all the above mentioned things happening. It's extremely doubtful I will make the 50k. I'm mainly doing it just for fun.

Whew! I think that's all. I will get caught up at some point, folks. It just won't be anytime soon.

I'm back for now. Turns out I had zero internet at camp, so I was completely gone.

I had an awesome time working at camp. It was tiring, but worth it to have a part in helping these families heal. To get a small taste of what it was like, watch this video. It is a song the kids, the trouble children who had reactive attachment disorder, sung for the parents at the end of the week. The lyrics ring so true to what the families have been through.

I did get to ride a horse once, and it was awesome. I had never really ridden before, and I got to go at a slow trot, so that was fun. I wish I had gotten to do it more.

Now I am back until the weekend, which is soapbox derby. However, I need to catch up on life in general before I can really have a very active presence on the site for a bit. I'll do my best, though, and hopefully see y'all around!

Nice to have you back with us, Mae! I'm glad the trip went well.

I have been on and off a bit, lately. My sister came home and there is lots of preparation to do for getting ready for Canoe Camp. So I don't know when I can be active on the forums again.

Now I am off early tomorrow for canoe camp. Ill return on September 3rd! Bye!

I have returned from Canoe Camp. I had a fantastic time. It rained, it got too windy to paddle in, and leaky-ish tents are not very nice in that weather, but I had a wonderful time anyway. I learned so much about canoeing, camping, plants, and so much more!

We got to see the oldest building in Saskatchewan (Stanley Mission, 146 years), saw cliff paintings, saw the biggest waterfall in Saskatchewan, paddled 16k in one day, learned how to start a fire without matches (flint fire!), learned how to identify wild cranberries, explored and abandoned uranium mine from around WW2, got stung by a hornet, made pancakes with rainwater, discovered that all food tastes good while camping, paddled up a current with a strong headwind while it was raining, and much more!

I'll have pictures on my blog soonish, and will post a link here.
