She doesn't reach my shoulder even when my back is doing poorly.

I always said I wanted to marry a short person so I hopefully don't have to look up to my kids some day, like my father does (five inches...that's just wrong.)

Height, though, has little to do with anything. Travis, my younger brother, is the same height as me, at this point in his life (mommy hopes he will get taller, for his sake). While he may get teased for that, I'd dare any of my friends (Matt probably being an exception) to pit their strength against his. Travis would take them out in a matter of minutes. He's a mean, lean, fighting machine! He's compact, yes, but he's extremely fit and has lean, corded muscles.

And, as Mark pointed out, my height can easily be overlooked (except in pictures when I’m standing next to someone) because my personality isn’t timid. I’m an extra extravert, and something of a spitfire, I am told. My height is not what people typically notice.

Besides, as Jacob has learned (another brother who got the tall genes in the family), short people make the tall people get stuff all the time.

There's an oriental guy at work who's about five feet tall and I'd bet he could beat me arm-wrestling.

I can sympathize with short people. I'm only 5'8" or 5'9" and I have been that way since I was 17!! The only things that are growing right now are my stomach (bad! ) and my brain (good...I think ).

I feel especially short because I have two brothers that won't stop growing, even when we threaten to put cinderblocks on their heads. The most disturbing is my youngest brother, who at 12 tops out around 5'10"!!! Yes, that was not a typo. I feel like a shrimp.

I'm short; 5'3''. I wish I was taller, since all of my friends are taller than me.

I'm only about 5'3" myself...unless I grew this summer! :hopeful:

Mom says I won't grow anymore. >_< I'm annoyed. It seems like all of my friends (most of which are boys, I admit; I shouldn't be annoyed) are way taller. Meh.

*Chuckles* My sister is 6'2", but she insists she's 6'1", and even though we can tell she's still getting taller, she refuses to agree and insists she isn't growing at all. One person who would like to be shorter, I guess, hehe.
