I have now laid the ground work for the next scene in my book, and hope to get a solid skeletal structure of the scene written today.

:( Varon go finish it now? *offers cupcakes for motivation*

You know, Airianna, you're making me very curious about your method for writing a scene. It sounds like you have multiple steps in drafting?

I can try. I'll have to hit up Write or Die! and edit the last two paragraphs of the story at the same time.

*chuckles * Maybe when I'm done with the third book, and I actually have the whole trilogy under my belt, I will. I actually have several articles planned (query letters, agent searches, marketing, how-tos, so on, so forth) for when all is said and done, but until I have the trilogy finished, I don't really want to be an "authority" on those subjects. :D

Fair enough. Although, as far as your methodology for writing scenes goes, that's more of a personal thing and less of an authority thing. :D But I'm not gonna beg for blog posts if you're working on a novel I can have instead. ;)

*chuckles * I would agree. :D

Well, I have 1,257 words to the scene so far. The skeleton is not finished, but it is coming along, so I am pleased. I hope to wrap up in about an hour (at which point Daddy will be home and the writing is being put aside for a bit). Then maybe tonight I can flesh the scene out, but we shall see.

First day of actual writing yesterday, I got over 5000 words done and over ten pages... I don't think some of it turned out great, but at least it's going! Going to try to do the same today.

After not writing for a while I decided to put Hopeless on hold and start another novel, which has the temporary title of The Hunted. I'm actually taking this one slowly and do world/character and even serious plot building! ;)

This one is a sci-fi and possible thriller....maybe not, but possibly :P I'm having fun with it. So the main plan is to just take it slow and enjoy writing! :)

I want to finish Book 3 of my series this month. We'll see how it goes.

Maybe.... :D

Right now I'm still doing character building, so we shall see. I just finished writing my Protagonist and now I'm working on my Antagonist, then I'll move on to my other main characters, so it could be a while before I post anything. I'm actually thinking of making a blog and posting excerpts on that...

So we shall see :)

I very much like your goal, Bethany. ^_^

I didn't really meet my goal for starting my novel. Instead I'm developing again. Hopefully I can start soon.... I do need to get out of this development rut and write some actual story soon... It's been far too long. :P

Excellent. Come join us on HWSF with that at some point. Please?

I've never been stuck in development. You can get writing though.

*steps nervously into thread* Um... I dunno if this counts but...

My goal with Pandemic is to finish the rewrite this month or at least have some idea of where it should end (yeah, lame, but I think even knowing anything about where the end of the story is is a lot, so...)

Is it okay to mention "novels" that are in the zygote stage? :P 'Cause I have a couple...

If you've got a goal for said novels, Wolf, of course they count! :D

Works for me, Brendan! Writing every day is extremely important. And a little work every day will get you there, which is important for those of us who want to read it. XD

Okay, then I have two abstract ideas for fantasy novels. My goal is to do some basic idea-growing for each, and figure out which one I should do for nano this year. Then my goal is to rock Nanowrimo with one of said novel ideas.

I also think that's a good goal- writing every day no matter how little you do (okay, if you were down to one letter a day I'd be concerned) will keep you into the story and keep you progressing. :D

Yes, probably a good idea. *Takes cupcake*

My new goal is to do all the necessary development for August NaNo. I'm not here for the full month, so I am aiming for a goal of 25k in development, and perhaps that will finish it up... Or perhaps not. We shall see.

I'm very ambitious (perhaps overly much :P ), so naturally I have a ton of goals.

#1 - Finish the fourth book in my epic fantasy series by this Saturday. (Looking doubtful. :( ) If not, I'm only going to miss by a chapter or so. ARGH!

#2 - Get book 1 of said series edited and polished up so I can publish it by November. *sighs* December is fine, too...I guess. :bawl:

#3 - Whip book 2 into shape so it can't follow book 1 out the door and into the world of being published.

#4 - Start revising book 3 before the end of the year and give it a happy send-off to join its older siblings by March.

#5 - Start and finish book 5 before the end of the year, thus completing the series. :'(

#6 - Keep my sanity while trying to do all this!!!!! D:

Wow! Those are amazing goals. :D As someone who sets them for herself sometimes, here's the thing about ambitious goals. It's fine to stretch yourself and strive for the unbelievable as long as you're open to God saying "Not so fast" and readjusting if He calls. So go for it and keep us updated!

 *echoes Aubrey* Those are great goals, Tarin! Looking forward to hearing how those go! :D

I am nearing the end of my rewrite, finished camp nano today. :D Probably just a couple thousand more words and I'll be done with that draft. ^_^

My goal? To come up with a novel idea by the end of September, and improve my character development abilities. Plus, start Retaliation by Christmas.

Well, it's September! And September means I get to write again!!!

I'm taking it slowly, since first drafts are the hardest for me to write, so my goal right now is to finish chapter one by the end of the month.

Goal: don't let college eat my novel.

Seriously, though, I'd love to have finished my first draft by the end of this school year.

Redemption is to be purchased, to have a price paid. So I was redeemed from my master sin, and from justice, which demanded my death. For He paid the price of sin by becoming sin, and met the demands of justice by dying for us.

For all men have a master. But a man cannot have two masters. For he will love one and hate the other. You cannot serve God and sin. So I die to the old, as He died, and I am resurrected to the new, as He was resurrected.

Note: Ebed is Hebrew for bondsman, Eleutheros is Greek for unrestrained (not a slave).

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)

Does a co-written novella count?

Sure does, although I'm eager for the day when some of your original pulp fiction is published. :D

That might take a while. :P

The Gunrunner is a character driven, alternate history dieselpunk story though. It has some elements of pulp, like an alien invasion, Nazis, fedoras, and rebels.
