It's time we midwesterners got together again!
If we can get a general location for each attendee we'll try to sort of meet in the middle. I think we should have one from Nashville, one from South of St Louis and one from South central IL. Who else?? :D

Same as Katherina. I might be able to swing northern IL, but not southern. :(

We should do a WI convention one of these days... there are at least four of us up here, and that's without having polled for others...

No, I just wasn't sure if it would discourage some people from attending if they had to miss church on Sunday.

I think I should make everyone duly aware... The tentative date for my Peter's Angel release party on HWHF is Sept. 8th. I have no idea if that would even remotely affect anyone's plans, and I don't want to disrupt you if you've already got something going, but I just thought you should know that there might already be an HW event on that day. :)

Ooops. Sorry to barge in on your date Aubrey!

We picked that date because some of the attendees are actually from quite far away and will be closest to us that weekend. Last time I had a month long tooth pulling expedition trying to find out when and where would be best for everybody. D: LOL

No, no, I actually think you were here first. :D I'm confused though--is this a go? If you've already got plans set and have some people who are going to be there, I could move my date. I haven't locked the 8th yet. I'm not sure if it'd make too much of a difference... but if a lot of people are going to be at your house and not online then I'll consider moving it. This is a special event for the community so I want people to be there. :)

So what are your plans so far for this? I'm sorry for sounding so rude  , but this thread makes it sound like it's still hypothetical, so I wasn't sure if this was set. :D

No worries! :)

So far there are only three people who are sure they're going.
Airianna (I think)
Celestria
Eleutheria
with a possibility of Jaynin

I pretty much have to use that weekend.
They're driving over 800 miles and won't be back in the area again for a while. :?

Truthfully, since I haven't published the date yet, I'm not averse to moving it. Do you think I can use this as an excuse and get away with it? *sly grin*

Well, I'm afraid I'll have to stick with the weekend when 1/4 of our attendees will be ... in ... attendance. :/

;)

Edited to add: Airi, she might let you have cake... but we have brooooowwwwnies.

*giggles delightedly*

I've decided to move the party to the 15th, for this and other reasons. I apologize for causing a disturbance in your thread! Commence to ignoring me. ^_^

Well, apparently the weather is not going to cooperate with a tenting expedition, so I'm archiving the thread. :(

The books or the music in which we thought the beauty was located will betray us if we trust to them; it was not in them, it only came through them, and what came through them was longing. These things—the beauty, the memory of our own past—are good images of what we really desire; but if they are mistaken for the thing itself they turn into dumb idols, breaking the hearts of their worshippers. For they are not the thing itself; they are only the scent of a flower we have not found, the echo of a tune we have not heard, news from a country we have never yet visited.

All the things that have deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it—tantalising glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear... We cannot tell each other about it. It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want . . . which we shall still desire on our deathbeds . . . ~C.S. Lewis
