I have somehow been coaxed back into CRP... Sui was talking about it and I was overwhelmed by the fun it seemed to be. And maybe it will help me get through nanowrimo. And give me an excuse to talk about actually talking to my characters without sounding.... um, slightly insane.

So! This is Floyd. And he's a scifi character. Get over it.

Floyd: *leans against the wall and glances around, taking in everything, all the exits, who's talking to who, and who is most likely to jump out and attack him. He smiles vaguely, waves, and waits*

Me: *pokes Michael* Hey, look! That's the charry that you're kinda like! Well... were kinda like.

Michael: *swats at poke before sizing up Floyd* I don't see the resemblance.

Me: Not looks -- personality.

Michael: *glances at Floyd again before turning to his sketchbook, clearly unconvinced* Right.

Me: You're going to be a handful...

Tarkas: Hi Floyd! The- [Gets a rock thrown at him] What'd I do?!

Me: Enough about the water. -_- Just play by yourself.

Seymour: What is this... Sci-fi?

Me: Guns with lasers, computers, hi-levels of technological terms and mish-mash.

Seymour: Uh....

Me: Yeah. It's better if you don't think too hard about it.

Rynx: [Shoves his way out from under the rug] Gah! I can breathe!

Thaeren: And you couldn't before?

Rynx: [Huffs] Barely.

Michael: (@Rynx) You're a demon? *scrutinizes the panting creature* You hardly look the part -- an imp at the most.

Iye: *waves to Phil*

Antreo: Welcome to this place, Lord Floyd and Lord Phil. *bows*

Antreo: *dryly amused* It seems to be the fad to ignore people here.

New character!

Sylve: *walks in the door, and smiles sunnily at everyone before speaking in a sugar-sweet voice* Greetings, all!

Me: Whoo, two Council Members! [To Inesdar] Does Phil happen to know the St. Nichodemus, who had burst into Jay and Mordir's duel thread wielding an axe and shouting dangerous threats?
Seymour: Hello, Phil.

Tarkas: Hi!

Rynx: [Bristles] I assure you, I am very much a demon. I only have to take on the form of something else, usually a host. This bag of fur's relative was an excellent host, and I was able to derive a form similar to his to call my own.

Thaeren: What did you just call me?!

Me: Easy, big guy.

Rynx: So no, I am no imp, thank you very much. My true form... is much more vile than you can ever imagine.

Me: Oh, oh oh! I should bring in Ivy and Zinaan!

Seymour: Do you want to drive this newcomers crazy?

Me: Naw, they're not that bad.

Seymour: They're like Tynx, but ten times worse.

Me: Maybe, but they don't mean any harm.

Ivy: Yeah! We're back!

Zinaan: But. Mama and Papa aren't here...

Ivy: Papa's busy fighting, and Mama's sleeping.

Seymour: No you did not-

Me: Oh yes I did.

Me: He is... somebody who showed up in Jay and Mordir's duel thread waving an axe wildly? I'm guessing he's not in your story?

Me: Tynx!!! *love* *is entirely in favor of any Tynx-like characters*

Floyd: @Phil - *grins* I don't belong here either, you know. My story is also contemporary. Where do you live, in the real world?

iye: That entirely depnds on what you mean by 'real'.

Michael: *acknowledges Sylve's presence by raising an eyebrow, but keeps attention on his sketchbook*
(@Rynx) So far you've been a decidedly unimpressive demon.

Me- Help Im drowning in text! I need a summary!

Natalia: This place filled up with people quite fast...
Me: Yeah, a lot has happened since yesterday! Welcome, newcomers! *pokes Natalia* Say hi.
Natalia: High? Why would I say "high?"
Me: *facepalm* Greet them.
Natalia: Oh. Right. Hello, my lords Phil and Floyd. *curtsies* And others who I may have neglected to greet as of yet. *smiles*

Lyr'Ous- Greetings crowd of people I don't know!

Sylve: *smiles brightly at Michael* *walks over and familiarly peeks over his shoulder* Oooh! That is lovely!

Antreo: (@Phil) I don't go on quests or fighting dragons. The only dragons, if they even exist are far to the south. As for quests, they are rather dirty work. I leave them to those better suited for such work. *brushes invisible speck off his doublet*

Michael: *blinks twice, then turns head to stare at Sylve* Your opinion was desperately needed, and deeply appreciated. *turns head back to sketchbook*

Me: I should smack you. -_-

Floyd: *suddenly interested* You draw?

Michael: (@Floyd) Yes. It's a hobby that I can turn to whenever I have extra time on my hands. I would usually roll-play, but I prefer to do so when I don't have to deal with a general cacophony of voices, nor when people fight over who gets to breath down my neck.
*glares at author* You didn't tell me there would be this many people.

Me: You didn't ask (and I sure wasn't going to bring it up).

Lyr'Ous- (looks at Antreo as if he was insane) Don't go on Qwest's! Dirty work! Better suited? What is life without challenge. How can one enjoy life without getting some dirt between their nails. I mean come on I managed to fight and seal away a dragon even though they went extinct on my world many thousands of years ago! Well you don't have do that. (Looks at his stump of a left arm).

Sylve: (@Michael) *bites her lip peevishly* *still brightly and looking over his shoulder* It must have taken a lot of practice to be so good. You draw so confidently!

Antreo:(@Lyr'Ous) One does not need dirt under one's nails to have fun. There are plenty of parties, dinners, and musicians to enjoy oneself.

Me: (@Sylve) He's been drawing for a long time.

Michael: The method in which I draw does not necessarily have to convey confidence; supposed confidence can be at times confused with great irritation.

Rynx: [To Jaynin] I assure you, ma'am, I am nothing like that mongrel. Although he was quite a good host... such energy...

Me: OK, you need to stop before you scare someone.

Rynx: [Turns on Michael] Well... I suppose I may not look impressive in sucha puny form. But I don't think I could do anything about. Aris would kill me.

Me: Yes I would. So behave and don't be creepy. We have children here.

Ivy and Zinaan: [Oblivious to everything]

Iye: *frowns* Am I allowed to be here and in the dragon room at the same time?

Me: *shrugging* I think so.

Iye: It kind of feels weird. Disorientated. I don't know how you authors do it.

Me: Do what?

Iye: So many different stories at the same time. Don't you feels stretched and lost?

Me: Well, yeah...so?

Iye: I have new appreciation for you.

Me: *searching briefly for a scarcastic smiley face before giving up* Thank you so much.

Natalia: *glances from charrie to charrie and wonders why no one's talking to her* *to no one in particular* Hello!

Michael: *rolls eyes* Then tell the children (*makes a small hand gesture that encompasses almost everyone in the room*) to close their eyes.
*continues to ignore Natalia while making a few finishing touches to his sketch*

Me: *looks at sketch* Do you ever stop insulting people?

Michael: ...

Me: I suppose I didn't expect a response.

*Floyd watches in amusement, and then speaks in rapid succession*
@Aris - Who are the children?
@Michael - What are you drawing?
@Phil - Are you always this annoying?
@Natalia - I don't think it's you; everyone is still trying to get their bearings and establish a common theme of conversation.

Michael: 'Were'. It's done now. *turns sketchbook to display a sketch of an enraged Iye blowing a river of fire onto a rather pathetic looking Rynx*
*turns sketchbook back so he can admire it* He looks like a furry candle...

*can't help jumping in and grinning*

Antreo: (@Phil) *mouth crooks up a tiny bit in amusement* My deepest apologies.

Sylve: (@Michael) Well, I guess I really don't know much about it, but it seems to me that confidence comes from ability and practice. But I suppose you would know better than I. Are you greatly irritated? *mock frowns at everyone else in the room* They shouldn't do that to you. *looks admiringly at the sketch* A furry candle! *bursts into a peal of tinkling laughter*

Michael: *looks straight at Sylve* No, they shouldn't.
*turns back to his sketch (but still talking to Sylve)* What do you think? *holds sketch in a way so that Sylve and Michael can look at Rynx and the sketch at the same time* An improvement?

Me: [To Jaynin] Ivy and Zinaan. [Motions to the little kids, who are currently chasing a frog] The offspring of Mordir, my villain.

Rynx: [Outraged] You disrespectful mortal!!!!! How dare you!!! [Jumps at the sketchbook to rip it to shreds]

Me: I would let him have his true form, but I dunno what it is.

Seymour: Aren't you going to stop him?

Me: Only if he gets too annoying for everyone else.

Michael: *grins*

Me: Aren't you mad over losing a sketchbook?

Michael: Not really. It was a new sketchbook, and the benefit outweighs the loss of a single sketch.

Me: (@Lady Aris) Ah.

Me: Mordir has kids?

Floyd: You're acquainted with this villain?

Me: Um, yeah, I used to hang out here... a long time ago...

Floyd: Before I existed?

Me: Yeah....

Floyd: How come I didn't know about this?

Me: You're a character, for heaven's sake!

Floyd: How many other characters do you have that I don't know about?

Me:

Rynx: [Snarls, but does nothing] Aris!

Me: Relax, I'll get you a demon form, if you really want one.

Rynx: Yes I do!!!

Thaeren: And I thought my brother was annoying.

Me: [To Jaynin] Yes ma'am. Two cute little 'uns. It took me a while to finally let him even get married.

Seymour: I'm confused.

Me: Author thing.

Seymour: That explains why I'm confused.

Me: [Drags Rynx out for a moment] Excuse us while we go true form shopping.

Rynx: Shopping?! Can't I stay here?!

Me: No. Because I don't want to keep coming in here with true forms that aren't true to you and scare the living daylights out of the kiddies.

Rynx: I hate you. -_-

Me: I figured.

Sylve: (@Michael) I- *looks closely at sketch* Oh! *gives a little scream, grabbing Michael's arm and half hiding behind him as Rynx tears up the sketchbook*

Michael: *straightens clothes and adjusts glasses with one hand* You know what you need? A pet. Something to protect you, give you a reason for living.
When Rynx comes back I'm going to give him to you.

Me: You can't just take him, Michael. He's another person's charry.

Michael: Fine then -- I'll barter. It shouldn't be too hard to find something equal to his worth.

Me: *sigh* This is why it is dangerous for Michael to take an interest in someone. -_-

Sylve: (@Michael) *eyes open wide in a put-on naivete as she looks up at him* Why do I need a pet when people could do that?

Michael: Because an animal could do it. Why use a person when an animal could do it?

Sylve: But...you can't talk to animals and have them answer. But perhaps I do not know much of these things.

Michael: That's one of the chief reasons why an animal is preferable.
It seems that way, doesn't it.

Sylve: *is temporarily fazed, eyes opening wide* *screams as Phil's bullet grazes her shoulder* *falls in Michael's general direction as tears come to her eyes, squeezing the wound imperceptibly to increase the blood flow*

Michael: *rolls eyes* You would be the one who gets hit. *sighs, then kneels next to Sylve* *sizes up cut* Doesn't look bad, but then again I'm no expert.
*reaches for the bottom of Sylve's dress* Just to be safe--

Me: No.

Michael: Relax, I only need a short strip of cloth.

Me: Why don't you use your own shirt?

Michael: Are you kidding?

Me: Fine. *tears off a strip from the bottom of his shirt* Use mine.

Michael: *takes and ties around Sylve's arm*
*looks around at various characters* Are any of you doctors? She needs to be taken to a hospital. Preferably a hospital far away from me.

Me: * appears and raises eyebrows remindingly * No, fighting, remember. I have no idea if shooting someone classifies as that...but I'm just reminding y'all so noone clobbers Phil for it.

Me: Iye...Iye?

Iye: I'm not talking to you. Or that blasted little...whatever he is anyway.

Me: *sighing* Iye, he's a charrie--which means I've no control over him or what he does and whatever he does has no ultimate influence over you anyway--and I already sketched you once.

Iye: It's not the same. First, I can't even enjoy this one like I can look at yours all the time. Second, yours wasn't nearly as cool, and didn't have me shooting flames. Or big. And mighty-looking. *sniffles while still trying to appear all majestic and dragony* I never even got to see that one. Not once. Because you neglected to get me to see it in time.

Me: *looking a bit sorry for charrie* Oh, Iye...

Iye: *glances at Sylve* Oh, by the way, I suppose I might mention that I know something of doctoring? *huddles over her, glares at Phil* Humph.

Me: *relieved* Yes, Iye. Take good care of her, will you. And please say something to Natalia while you're at it. She looks lonely.

Iye: *looks over at Natalia.* Erm...--ulp.

Me *shaking head* Lovely, Iye. Lovely.

Iye: Well, *huffing* I did already complement her, didn't I?

Me: Yes, I suppose you did. Just be nice, alright? I much prefer that to demon-candle slayer.

This corner of the room becomes a little chaotic, as Floyd wants to clobber Phil, but the author has seen Juliet's notice and isn't letting him.

Floyd: I don't want to fight him, I want to knock him down and take his gun away!

Me: That's fighting.

Floyd: No it's not, it's disarming. And anyway, seriously? You all are just going to stand there and let him wave a gun around after he's already shot one person?

Tsk, tsk, tsk. * waggles finger and brings up a screen floating midair *



Though I suppose 'violence' would include guns – meaning no more shooting. * holds out hand for gun *

If you really want to, and can convince Phil to agree, we can assign you a separate room to get your blood cooled off in. But nothing happening here. Listen to your author. (Though I admit I have more than a slight leaning of sympathy towards your point of view... Rules are rules.)

Me: No violence? Good thing I didn't know that previously or Michael might not have consented to coming...

Michael: I can still demand to leave.

Me: Sure, but you can't leave without my permission, and I'm not giving it.
I'm sorry, Iye. Maybe I can get Michael interested enough to draw another one...

Michael: *pretends not to notice*

I would like to see Michael and Phil both be written into a book scene. T'would prove very interesting.

Me: Hmm... I don't think Michael would last too long.

Michael: *glares*
