I'm three inches taller than my mattress is long.

I'm half an inch taller than our sliding glass front door.

My mattress at school fit perfectly, I was so happy with it. Now I have the couch, which is a bit short.

Interesting theory proposed by some scientists: since you do most of your growing at night, if you're in a bed much too small, you're likely to stop growing earlier, because your body senses it doesn't have enough room.

Hmm. I did grow until I was 19, though. Late growing runs in the family...one of my uncles stopped about 18, and then grew a few more inches in his early 20's.

I wonder if that'll happen to me...

My cousin had a teacher who told him that her bed was small so that she wouldn't grow (she was very small). He believed her--and informed his parents that he wanted a very long bed for that reason.

We have tall people in my family... I'm an inch taller than my Mom, and will probably be the shortest of us 4 kiddos, even though I'm older.

What if I don't have to act like a klutz on purpose?

THAT would explain why I'm so short! (I'm short for the tall family I'm in. ) I slept in the shortest bed! So obviously, I'm going to have to switch with someone now...

I haven't gotten any taller.

But, I've taken medicine in the past that can stunt growth, then I have lack of rest, stress, etc. against me.

But, maybe I shall yet grow some (two-three inches would be nice). I sure hope so.

I'm about 5'10 1/2" to 5'11 something. I haven't been measured in awhile. But, my work boots, since they are so thick and heavy duty, do make me taller.

Today I just realized I'm somewhere between 5' 10" and 6' 2" depending on which convenience store or gas station I enter.

LOL. so you walk into a gas station and shrink, and then walk to a convenience store and grow a couple inches?

I know! Crazy, right? And don't get me started on the growing pains...

Having met Mark last night, I can say he is tall. Not sure how tall, but significantly taller than me. *nod nods *

*grumbles* So...I went to the Doctor's office in the morning, early. And I measured as a tiny bit over 5 8'. Then, later after supper, I go to get my sports physical at our local school. And THERE, I get measured as 5 7' and a HALF! *gasp*

I was so angry. Apparently, your spine compresses, the longer you're upright, so by the end of the day, I've lost a little more than half an inch!

Weird... So maybe I am still growing and just measuring at the wrong time of day...

I've had numerous young friends and acquaintances come up to me recently and just tell me how short I am...

Which is why I fluctuate between 5' 1" and 5'2".

Yes, I'm 6' 5" until about noon on good days, but bad days, I can be as low as 6' 3" by bedtime. >.<

I am 5'2" last I checked and I have been since I was 13, so for almost 9 years. I don't think I'll grow any taller .

I saw an amazingly tall lady in town today! She must have been at least a head and a half taller than I am, nearly reaching the doorframe! It must be amazing to be so tall.

Both my younger sisters are taller than me and both of my parents. The only member of my immediate family who is shorter than me is my little brother...and he's only 20 months old . I fully expect him to shoot up like a weed and be taller than me by the time he is in his tweens.

While I may've been tall for my age at one time, I feel short now, and fully expect my little brother to pass me in height. (I actually always thought it likely, why is it that younger siblings seem to usually be taller than the older ones?)

Okay, so anyone who's seen my username can probably guess that I've been the recipient of many a height joke. I am 5'4-5'5. They say that 5'4 is average for a female human, and I do know a lot of grown women shorter than me. But I also know a lot who are taller. My sister is 6 years younger, and she's only got about 1/2 an inch to go until we're equal, and two of my younger brothers are already taller.

*finds this* I'm not what I would consider tall.

Half-way through our meet Saturday I remembered the height-issue and thought, "Where does Kaitlyn get this idea that she is short?! All this time I've been steeling myself to meet someone significantly shorter than I can comprehend [having no clue what 5'1" or 5'2" actually looks like] and this is it?!"

My friends tell me that it's easy to overlook my height, or lack thereof, though, because I don't act like I'm really short. A lot of people are insecure about it, whereas I "own it" as I like to say.

I know MORE who are taller. And two of my younger brothers are already taller, plus my little sister, six years younger, has only about half an inch to go before we're level.
