Why can't it be more north-er? :beg: GA is about 8-12 hours away from me! I can't afford the gas AND a hotel room...

I also can't afford a plane ticket and a hotel room... so...unless you could make it more east-er, I'm a no-go. (: Unless of course, I *do* find that portal to Texas, then it might be a possibility as I'd at least be in the correct country.

No. It'd be free. From one skype account to another. Not a phone call. :D

Last convention we had a five or six way audio call going, and no one had to buy a subscription.

Yup. Group chats don't cost anything. It's only for phone calls, IIRC.

But what about a video call? I won't be satisfied with audio  And it would get too confusing, anyway.

Well... I think Skype would probably be finicky and not work right if we tried a large video chat... it would probably freeze a lot, too...

And it won't get confusing with audio, because skype lights up the person talking. ^_^

Skype should work fine. :D

*decides to make executive decision* Since no one has said having the convention at a bookstore would be the worst idea imaginable and they would nightmares for the rest of their life, I've decided we might as well plan for that until someone does say the above. My variation on "speak now or forever hold your peace".

Once I return from vacation, I'll send directions to all of the participants. (If I don't comment on this thread the minute I get back from vacation, someone stab me or use some other extreme method of getting my attention.)

It wouldn't be a proper convention without you Skyping in, my Airi. ^_^

Who is bringing the laptop to Skype on? I talked to M/L/S about it, and he said he thought Nemo was, but I don't want us to have a case of everybody thinking someone else will bring it...

Oh yes. *takes cue and stabs self* I'm here!

Here is the website for the coffee shop. http://www.bouldercreekcoffee.com/
And here is the website for the book store that connects with it. http://www.mybfl.com/index.php

The address is
2815 Buford Drive
Buford, GA 30519

As for dates, working dates are the 27th and/or 28th.
As for times... I guess that would depend on when Zoe could arrive.

I'll try not to schedule anything those days, but be warned that I get my wisdom teeth out the Tuesday of that week. :P

If the memories of my experience are any indication, you should be travel-ready by the day(s) of the convention. :D

July 27th, 28th, or both. :D

Okay, I just found out that the 28th won't work for me. My Mom has to go somewhere, and we're watching 6 additional kids without her being here. o.O So, that date wouldn't work for me...

OK.

What times will work for you, Zoe? *summons* Did both dates work for you?

Both dates could work, yes. But you can't come on the 27th, and Shawn can't come on the 28th, and I want to meet you both! :'( And there's no way my parents will go for both days...

Well, if we have it the 27th, then you could still meet everyone (since I assume we are still on for a private get-together on the 29th). Although if that happened, I know Fara would be bummed that she wouldn't be able to meet Captain and Ruby. :(

Hmm... I've got an idea, let me PM you and Shawn.

All right, then both days are out. It has to be either one, or the other.

Ahhh... hrm... *coughcough* *cricket chirp* *cricket chirp* So.... it turns out... I can't come after all. I've been gone for three weeks and just talked with Mom about it again today (after about a month and a half or maybe longer...) Since the last time we talked, things have changed, so I can't come. :( I'm so sorry. I thought it was going to work out... I probably should have checked in on Mom's side of things more so I could have told you earlier. My deepest apologies.

*sits back, waiting for people to beat me up for not coming* Pssst: I'll still try to skype in! *braces self* ;)

:bawl:

That leaves Zoe to meet Shawn and Ruby on Friday; or me, Fara, and Ruby on Saturday. :(

As for times, are we going to try for late morning-through lunch-into afternoon, or a meet after lunch and stay the rest of the afternoon? (Remind me, Zoe, were you unable to stay long into the afternoon on Saturday?)

It's falling apart! :bawl:

I can't stay much into the afternoon on Saturday, as far as I know.

Erm... provided I can get a ride, I can come... o.O

I'll ask tomorrow, when I'm back home. * nod nod *

Saturday?! *capers*

If need be, I'll come pick you up-- Oh wait. I don't drive.

If need be, I'll have my family come pick you up.
