I'm officially going to develop At the Back of the North Wind into a screenplay.

First of all, I plan to re-read the book.

But I'd love some input on what any other readers of the book drew from it as themes. Everyone has their own perspective on classic literature: I'd like to widen mine.

What do you think are the themes of At the Back of the North Wind?

Oh, how to put it? I felt an awe of the world God has created. I drew in the innocence of Diamond, and how we as Christians are supposed to be like that, in the world, but not of it. I can't put it into words at the moment, so I'll try again later... :P
I would like to see it after you make it.

At the Back of the North Wind is on hold as a screenplay until probably the beginning of next year because I have a number of things going and I'll go crazy if I add one more. ;D

But I'll be sure to let the HW community know if anything big comes of it. :) It's a very good cool story. :D

I know how that is!
That just means you can get lots of discussion. ;)

The book was ok, but I wasn't all too fond of the ending. It ended far too quickly and... and... *bursts into tears*

No. It was a good book.

As for themes I think that they were centered around Diamond's innocence and faith.
