On June 9th I'll be driving (er, riding) up to Virginia Beach to go to a speech and debate conference. I'll be cooking, cleaning, and being crazy with Nemo and others. That ends the 16th.

Early the 17th I'm driving (heh, riding again) back to my lovely Georgia. But it will be longer than that when you hear from me.

Heh. See, I'm flying out that night with my Daddy and my Youth Group for our summer mission trip...to Italy.

So. I won't be here. Internet will probably be lacking.

If all goes to plan (AKA, no meetings come up that cause Daddy to say over in London), I'll fly home the 27th. Which means I'll be back here the 28th at the earliest.

There is a slight chance that I might be able to check my email on Sunday, the 17th, but other than that I wouldn't count on it. If you desperately need me, try to catch me this week.

She didn't ask me to do this, but I wanted to give y'all an update on Shawn!

She left safely for her missions trip Sunday and, from what I can tell, has been doing fine. I got an email update from her dad this morning, and it sounds like they've been having fun and been busy, have worked hard and had some great opportunities to witness.

I'm just as eager as you all to see Elizabeth/Shawn back here. But I wanted to let you know that she's been doing well.

I am sorry this has been delayed. I was sort of putting this off until I had processed, caught up on sleep (more or less...) and recieved a video. I still don't have the video, but I can post that later.

Italy was amazing, yes. The people were wonderful, the food was , and the weather was hot and humid. I saw and felt things I expected, and things I didn't.

I was wowed by history. I have pictures from Rome (well, until my camera died, after which I have to use other people's pictures) and Pompeii. We also had the chance to see Putueoli, where Paul landed in Italia at the end of Acts. I did not plan on seeing my characters in London. The food was better than I could have expected , and I really miss the people there.

This was not my first mission trip, international or no. However, it is my first trip with the focus of walking around and talking to people with the intent of sharing Christ. I hadn't really done this sort of thing before, and after my first conversation, 2 thoughts popped into my head almost simultaneously:

• Why, why, are we not doing this back home?
• Why on earth have I not done this before?

Something else that profoundly impacted me was the skit we did. We have a video of our group doing it, but other groups have done it; it's called the "Lifehouse Everything Skit." The last time we did it was at a concert on the beach put on by the local church, right after the Doug Pierce Band played the song "How He Loves" and almost made me cry.

I can't...listen to that song the same way again. I played the main girl, and it was...emotionally wrenching, to say the least (the guy playing God had it even worse, although we'd both end up crying by the end).

I wouldn't trade it for anything. God is so good, and I'm so glad He allowed--planned, really--for me to go.
