...you're 18 (well, by a few days at least) and you're still afraid of the dark.

I love being afraid of the dark. It is a great aid to the imagination.

Yeah...and good exercise. :dieshappy: But I just realized something...I'm not afraid of the dark per se, rather I'm afraid of what I'm imagining is in the dark. ;)

Haha! I get scared once all lights are off, then I start imagining creepy creatures, then I try to push them out of my head, then I fail, and then I'm having a heart attack while running around the house trying to find a speck of light. And then occasionally, I get even more scared because the little light I have emits an eerie glow.

... When you take little actions from what you are doing and write them in your head from present and past tense to see which you like better.

... When your characters are so real and you are asking them questions, the thought "But I don't want to answer for my characters!" passes through your head before remembering that you kind of have to.

@Azlyn: I usually stick with "ew, gross!" I don't like mold, and I don't like food that's going bad.

When you're planning on the trip to England with the school band, and people are talking about everything they won't ever try, and somebody brings up Black Pudding. Everyone is repelled. You just say "That would be interesting. I might like to try it sometime." (I was torn. On one hand it's blood. Ew. On the other, it's fascinating, in a very odd way.)

I would totally try it!!!

You know you're a crazy fantasy writer when you start coming up with cultural history and a world timeline in your head for the nation you're representing in a game of Risk.

We're gonna organize an online game. And when we decided we needed a third person, since we both suck at two-player, you were the first person I thought of asking. xD

You know you're a crazy fantasy writer when you feel all epic and magical and expect Hadgrid's motorcycle to drive right out of the sky every time a rain storm hits.

I have made up plants and food based off of mold (I am thinking of an animal too). I like mold, and rotting food. In the sense that I like observing the feeling of repulsion to it. I like those kinds of things. I once scrubbed wet yarn on my wet fingernails to examine the intense irritation it caused. It is very interesting how things that do not harm or heal can effect you so strongly.

Eating blood is an abomination, but at least it is an abomination that is interesting to write about.

And that's why Brendan and I enjoy mentioning eating it at every possible occasion that presents itself...

You know you're a crazy fantasy writer when you even care about the ingredients of a certain sausage, and wonder about ti for writing purposes.

Trio. :D

You get a concept for a story from someone's last name, a mirror, and bubbles.

Nice Shawn.

When you watch The Two Towers and The Half-Blood Prince in the same day, and then read a friend's second fantasy book before bed.

You "gallop" down a hill and realize you're running like a faun (or half a Centaur).

The statement about a water bottle "It's broken" inspires a whole new concept for your fantasy world.

You're constantly on the watch for quirky things like this about yourself to report on this thread.

-When you have a habit of making commanding or threatening gestures with chopsticks, pens, straws...

-When your sister is laughter soluble.

 That is one of the cleverest things I've heard in a long time.

I actually had a dream about you the other night. We were in a museum with a huge fishtank containing a bunch of ugly cave fish and some huge eel-like creatures. We were making a game out of dipping our fingers in the water and pulling them out just in time to keep them from being bitten off. Then after a long adventure involving the eels being turned tiny and pink, you sat down and started rhapsodizing about a blog post you were going to write concerning this experience. :dieshappy:

...when you wake up from a sound sleep, sit bolt upright in bed, scrabble for a flashlight, grab the handy pencil and paper on your bedside table, scribble a line of gibberish, and fall back onto your pillow, asleep before you hit it.
...when you wake up in the morning after said escapade and cannot remember why in the multiverse you thought that idea was clever enough to wake up for last night.
