This is a thread to rename famous songs by more candidly describing the sentiments they express. I'll start. See if you can identify these tunes:

"I Just Can't Wait for Dad to Die"--From The Lion King

"Be A Selfish Ultra-Short-Termist" --Also from The Lion King

"It's a Good Idea To Teach Children They Don't Have to Work To Get What They Want If They Can Find a Star"--From Pinocchio

"I Fall In Love Way Too Easily"--From Aladdin

Nunquam Reformandus--Never Reforming

"The more laws, the less justice."--Cicero

"I hope I will never write a novel that 'contains characters.'"--Tsahraf

"The knight is a man of blood and iron, a man familiar with the sight of smashed faces and the ragged stumps of lopped-off limbs; he is also a demure, almost maidenlike, guest in a hall, a gentle, modest, unobtrusive man. He is not a compromise or happy mean between ferocity and meekness; he is fierce to the nth and meek to the nth." --C.S. Lewis, "The Necessity of Chivalry"

Current WIPs include:

The Last Flight Of Captain Calder Scott--A Wanderlust Canon Tale (Steampulp Alternate History Adventure Novelette)

Estimated length: 17,000 words.
Currently Completed Length: In Editing Phase

Rejection Letter Count: 1

"We haven't been able to show off our serving techniques for so long, we want you to dine here so we can show off again" -- Beauty and the Beast

"I'm taking seven words and creating a song so I can feel romantic while cleaning" -- Cinderella

"I found out that love really is dancing with a really handsome guy/pretty girl in gorgeous settings" -- Cinderella

"Stay safe and appreciate what you have, because what you want isn't nearly as good as stuff here" -- The Little Mermaid

"Even though I've got tons of things, it doesn't matter because I want more" -- The Little Mermaid

"You're going to die because you were too nosy" -- The Hunchback of Notre Dame

By the way, for me, this is in no way criticizing the songs in the least! It's more having fun by re-titling them. Almost like teasing the songs... even though they're not human. :P  ;) :D

"I'm Too Stupid To Just Get Over Her Already"--The Script (though this could apply to countless songs, I guess  )

"If The Guy Is A Year Older Than The Girl, It Makes Up For Being A Condescending Double-Crossing Traitor Coward"--The Sound of Music

Here's my try. I'm terribly unimaginative at this. :beg:

"Kiss The Girl Because You're Curious" -The Little Mermaid

"Steak and Shrimp are Delicious" -Veggie Tales

"Bird and Worms can Fall in Love Too" -Owl City

You Must be Swift as a Coursing River with the Force of a Great Typhoon with the Strength of a Raging Fire and be as Mysterious as the Dark Side of the Moon to be a Man Unless Otherwise Stated" -Mulan

~Calen

BAHAHAHAH! BOTH are genius! :D I totally know the first one. :D One of my all-time favorites... OK. Let's see if I can come up with another one...

"Beautiful yet strange equals the girl Gaston loves" - Beauty and the Beast.

Calen! The one from Mulan was fantastic!

Since I've been rewatching classic Disney lately, I've really enjoyed this thread. :D
