Welcome everyone!
I decided to create this thread because I realized something. Our lovely forum here is like a big blue house. In fact, it looks very similar to Bear's Big Blue House from, what else, Bear in the Big Blue House.
And then I realized another thing: Bear in the Big Blue House's theme song is a welcome song! And it fits because our lovely forum is a Big Blue House, and we love welcoming people.
Then another realization came to mind: All of the characters from Bear in the Big Blue House are like all of our lovely council members!
So, this thread is to welcome YOU! Yes YOU! Right there! *points to you* YOU! And to introduce you to our wonderful council, our ranking system, and point you to some helpful threads. I know there is a LOT of info in this thread, so please, don't feel obligated to read it all at once! This is meant to help you, not overwhelm you.
First off: WELCOME! We absolutely LOVE new members and cannot wait to get to know you! Creating a thread in this sub-forum helps, and chat is another fun place to get to know others. (If you catch me in chat, you'll have to ask me if we can have an adventure on my submarine, the Nautilus)
Some places I'd suggest going to get a feel for the forum are here, here, here, here, and here. All of those "here"'s were linked to different rooms.
Second: Feel free to PM me or any other colored person for help. We LOVE helping. That's why were here. Especially Honor Role Members (or HRMs).
Third: Allow me to welcome you with the wonderful theme song to Bear in the Big Blue House, but welcoming to our Big Blue House instead!
Now that you've seen the video (hopefully!), I will show you who each character is.
Bear is Sir Emeth Mimetes. He's the guy in charge of everything. This is his Big Blue House. So we could call it Sir Emeth in the Big Blue House. *shrugs* Although Sir Emeth may seem a bit scary, he's really very friendly and very helpful.
The small mouse (Tutter) would be Airianna Valenshia because of her height (no offense Airi dear! It's just what came to mind [yes... she is relatively short... ]),because she is so cute, first to say hello to everyone, and always right in there! She scurries around everywhere and is so busy helping out! By the way, she is the most frequent poster and has the most posts on here. I love all of her insight and wisdom and overall loveliness. Look up some of her awesome posts and see for yourself!
Sir Racham Mimetes (or Inesdar) and Seer are the two otters (Pip and Pop) because they seem like near twins to me on here... I think I used to confuse the two sometimes... They both love having oodles of fun and are really nice guys when you get to know them.
The Lemur (Trilo) is Vanya Katerina Jaynin because of all the energy she has and how much fun she likes. Vanya has her mischievous side, and for all of the projects and things she gets done, she has earned the nickname Hurricane.
Duchess Daisy is the little bear (Ojo) because she's energetic and ready to get things done in a flash and loves green (Trilo, the Lemur I already mentioned, happens to be green, and Ojo hung out with Trilo a lot). Daisey is also our newest council member.
The sun (not shown in the theme song) and moon would be Neil of Erk and Timotheus respectively... don't ask my why... that's just the order I came up with. I don't know as much about these two as they don't come onto the face of the forum seemingly as often. I have not had the pleasure of getting to know them as well, but I know they are very busy and working hard to make the forum amazing.
Hannah Marie has a very special one. Hannah is Shadow. Shadow isn't in the intro song, but she is a character in the show. Shadow is a character that doesn't always appear in the show, but does often. She's like bear's "shadow," and Hannah is pretty much the same thing to Emeth. She's our other Administrator, works very hard to make sure everything runs smoothly on the forum, and I am highly appreciative of her. Shadow tends to tell stories and almost acts as an "adult" to Bear occasionally, but not always. I think it fits Hannah well.
So... now that you've met our council (by the way, all of their names are linked to their profiles), I'll show you how the video relates to our lovely ranking system.
First off, I want to mention that we don't consider one rank more important than another. I know that can sound a bit corny coming from someone who is ringed, but trust me. I was ringless not too long ago and know what it's like. Without those who bear no rings, the ringed ones would have no purpose. You can read more about that throughout the forum, though.
Each color has its own purpose and helps make the forum run smoothly.
Editors: Editors are just what they sound like. They make sure our lovely forum is clean and dusted off, typo-free, and full of proper grammar. They help the rest of us out so much! I see editors as the blue mouse in the video because, well... he was blue. Also, they scurry around our Big Blue House cleaning it up and making it sparkle.
Foundational Members: These are members who at one point in time were either ringed or who helped create the forum. They are part of the Honor Role Members, but are more like people who have retired from one of the ranks. Now, wait a minute... there are two purple ranks... but wait! There are two purple otters! So it works perfectly. (What are the odds?) Foundational Members have the opportunity to choose to participate in Honor Role Member tasks and editor tasks, but, as we know they are busy, they are not required.
Honor Role Members: These are our people people. They are here for YOU. If you need any help, feel free to ask these guys. Their number one goal is for you to have a wonderful experience on the forums. I also see these guys as the otters because they are right there, full of energy, ready to talk and have a fun time.
Moderators: These guys are here to make sure each area of the forum has no problems. You can also feel free to ask them questions if you have any. Also, if you find you need a thread moved because you posted it in the wrong place, or something technical like that, contact one of us. There is a list in Where Marcher Lords and Moderators are Working so that you know who is the right person to ask. Moderators are like the Lemur, full of energy! They just happen to channel that energy into getting work done, but also have plenty left over to have a good time.
Marcher Lords: These guys are very very very very helpful. They make sure the entire forum runs smoothly without any trouble. They approve new members, help promote members, approve various things, watch over various parts of the forum, and more. I find them like Ojo, the little bear, because they're like mini Sir Emeths and Hannahs... sort of. Any ways, these guys are full of energy, and I hope y'all have the opportunity to get to know a lot of them.
So... that just about wraps up my post. I hope this helped you a lot, and WELCOME to our Big Blue House! "Door's right open, come on in! And let's begin!"
Oh, and if anyone has or knows of an appropriate welcome video they'd like to post, this is the thread to do it in!

My favourite quote: "God will give His kindness for you to use when your own runs out."
Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.
Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.
When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

I love it! This was just what I was looking for, a good explanation for who does what (and you did it in a really cute and creative way)! Thank you

I can relate to the otter's, very much of a people person and full of energy.
