Nikki: ^^' *doesn't say anything*

Me: Yea... about that. Gremlins are more meschivious than evil. I usually keep them busy when editing my drafts, but during the writing process they enjoy doing things their way. In this case, releasing either Sarlin or Marlu to cast Vách on this town. Those are the only two I've created so far with the ability. But at least I found this guy. *cuddles the Gremlin* They're good, but they're also naughty, like Zip here.

Zip: Hey!

Me: *chuckles* I see. Interesting.

Me: So, now we have to track our villain.

Nikki: I'll help.

Me: You sure?

Nikki: Yup.

Zip: Me too! I'll help too!

Nikki: Uh... That's a no.

Zip: *glare*

*the two begin to argue*

Me: *off a distance with Nick* So, what happened?

Me: This villain had a strong aura, easy enough to track, but then all of a sudden- *makes the finger across the throat gesture* signal's dead. Nothing. Not a trace.

Me: That's odd. That didn't happen the last time Sarlin was unleashed here. He normally hides himself to keep his aura hidden. When one of the Gremlins took him here, the entire place reeked of his darkness. *intense look, strokes chin in deep thought* Maybe he found a way to clock his aura? Or maybe it isn't Sarlin at all. Marlu...?

Me: *strokes beard thoughtfully*

Vetis: *rolls his eyes at us*

Me: Who else... Unless. *glares, uses dog-peed-on-carpet-voice* VETIS. (You have a beard? Somehow I found that unexpected. XP)

Vetis: You learned my name quickly. I'm flattered.

Me: (It's more just scruff than a beard. )

Me: *begins to blabber uncontrollably in anger*

Nikki: Uh...

Zip: What's goi-

Nikki: *places hand on my shoulder* Everything okay?

Me: Uh... NO. You ran off with Vetis and now he's the one summoning Vách here! Okay maybe it's not him but who else could it be?!

Vetis: *holds his hands up placatingly* My lady, you misjudge me. I don't go messing up other authors' worlds.

Me: Maybe not... but Nikki, what's the purpose of the gold in your attic? Why do you need it so much...?

Nikki: *looks away* I... don't know...

Me: *silent but supportive gaze*

Vetis: Unanticipated disasters happen, Nami. Imagine how much good someone pure of heart like Nikki can do with that money.

Me: *narrows eyes in confusion* I suppose. *pulls Nikki to the side* I'm letting you make the call. I can't make all of your decisions, especially since this isn't in the pages. You have freedom.

Nikki: I-

*rumbling sound, ground shakes*

Me: Oh-no.

Me: O.o

Vetis: *looks around*

Me: ... The Vách are coming. *dives into the air and summons a Keyblade, the Dream Weaver, in her talons* *battle music starts*

EDIT: *changes back into human, still holding the Dream Weaver*

Vetis: And who are the Vach?

Me: *shifts into a large, shining, gold dragon*

Me: *stance* You'll find out soon enough. *runs towards the outskirts of town to attempt to intercept the Vách*

Me: O.O *follows*

Vetis: *follows*

Me: What the heck? How did the Vách get here?! *runs across the top of the cliffs inland* *sees a large group of black creatures closing in from the sky and land* You guys ready?!

Nikki: Yup. *game face on*

Me: What are you- Get out of here!

Nikki: I'm helping.

Me: No you're not!

Nikki: *stubborn* Yes I am.

Vetis: *creates a massive sword out of thin air* Let's do this.

Me: *dubious look at him*

Me: *begins and onslaught of the front line, slashing through many of the creatures with the Keyblade* *blasts fire magic*

Nikki: *Attacks from the air, slashing some of the air-born members of the Vách with his talons*

Me: Nik! Catch! *tosses a sword through the air*

Nikki: *catches it and slices another enemy in half*

*The evil aura suddenly returns as Vetis tries to stab Nami in the back*

Me: *Blocks him with a flaming sword of pure light, glaring at him* I should have known.

Vetis: *Smirks* Even if you keep me from killing her, the Vách will still overwhelm her.

*The waves of the Vách seem never-ending, and their eyes glow purple as Vetis' magic drives them mad, charging wildly, seeking only to kill without heed for their own safety*

Me: *is distracted as the overwhelming presence of darkness chokes me for a moment, a ground-dwelling Vách slashes my side* Auuuah! *the creatures continue to advance towards the town, which is probably in complete panic*

Nikki: Sea! *protects me as he drives off the surrounding beasts*

Me: *gets up, uses Curga (a healing spell)* I'm okay. *soon, however, both Nikki and I have out backs against the wall*

Nikki: Think *pant* You can take the rest of these punks?

Me: .... *head lowered, teeth cletched* Too... Many! Good God, please let this be enough *silently prays as I begin to leviate into the air as power boils from my essence within* Grr... * a swirling firestorm appears overhead, brightening up the night sky* You asked for it. *eyes glow green*

Vetis: *Hisses in fury* I suppose, in retrospect, a nauseatingly Christian forum is a bad place to attack. *he vanishes, and the supernatural strength leaves the Vach, though they continue their normal pillaging*

Me: *now that I'm not occupied fighting him, I stand between the horde and the village, keeping them at bay*

Me: *hordes last bits of power before coming back down to earth and plunging my Keyblade into the ground, a wave of white flames consuming all in a fifty meter radius* Ugggnuhh... *collapses after full use of power as the fire spreads across the grass covered cliff tops*

Nikki: *looks around as the Vách begin to vanish into thin air, as if in retreat* Its... over, I think.

Me: *catches Nami, uses a simple transmutation to make the grass into a nest, gently lays her in it* I think it is. *Agrees with Nikki*

Nikki: *looks over Sea, worried about her wounds*

Me: *waves hand weakly to disperse the flames and passes out*

Nikki: *smiles* I'm sorry.

Me: *intensely focused, lays one hand on Nami's forehead and the other on her stomach. A wave of light spreads gently over her, healing*

Nikki: *nods gratefully to Nick, having no words to express his gratitude, but whispers to me* I won't let this happen again. I promise.

Me: *has a look of peace on my face as the moonlight glitters through the scattered clouds*

ZEE END!!

Well, that was fun. It turned pretty intense near the end. Me likes!!

I should have foreseen Vetis being manipulative, but oh, well. No permanent harm done.

Agreed. You did a good job with Vetis. Very good character if I do say so.
