The gwythdraegyns (gwith-dray-gons) are the wind dragons. They are mostly controlled by the sylphs.

The gwythdraegyns' eyes are ice blue and round, and their snouts are long, with a rounded end. Their ears are small and pointy, and the tips line up with the tops of their heads. Their heads are white, with a pale blue streak down the forehead. The gwythdraegyns' bodies are as large as horses, and quite stout. They are white, with a pale blue streak down their backbone. Their white legs and feet are large and stout, with pale blue claws. The gwythdraegyns' tails are as long as their bodies, but fairly thin. They are white, with a pale blue rounded tip. Their wings have an eight-foot span, and are also white.

The gwythdraegyns are semi-sapient. They can breath/throw wind, and are usually ridden by sylphs. They are sometimes used in battle. Most gwythdraegyns are tamed, but the tamed ones rarely give birth. When they do give birth, two blue eggs are laid. Gwythdraegyns can live for up to a hundred years. Their call is a high-pitched roar that can be heard for miles. They are protective, stubborn, somewhat grumpy, and they only let their riders control them.

The things I have outlined here are what is usually the case. It is possible for gwythdraegyns to differ from this description. Those who do are either adored or shunned. If you have any questions about why I made them a certain way, ask away! It will help me to solidify them.

First we get a boatload of races...now creatures? Just kidding! :) I do have one question. Can the gwythdraegyns use wind themselves? Can they even think? Or do the slyphs use the gwythdraegyns to control the wind for themselves? Can gwythdraegyns be used by any other race?

Yes.

They think for themselves a little more than a dog would.

They can. Gwythdraegyns can be trained to do whatever the rider wishes.

They could be, but not very willingly.

So they're kind of bonded to the Slyphs as a race?

Janin's all about bindings. :D (I think it's pretty cool, too, though)

Awesome name! So are there other non-wind dragons?

Yes. There are also dwyrdraegyns (water), taandraegyns (fire), and daeardraegyns (earth). The names (other than dwyrdraegyn) aren't finalized yet. :)
