That last one barely seems recognizable as a gun to me. I liked the earlier ones, personally. :) But that's just me. Y'all do whatever you want. Jay's in charge, after all. :D

It doesn't need to be utterly practical, just cool. :D

That is a lot closer to what I was thinking. Anyone have any variants on that?

If you ask me, all that extra space doesn't make sense. I like the smaller ones a ton better. But, the designer doesn't always get his way. :) My favorite in this line is the HU-Bc5 which I didn't post because it doesn't match what you want. It has it's own spin off line which is even less like what you want. (I have way too much time on my hands, but school starts day after tomorrow, so that's about to change. :)

You start on Labor Day?

I'm working on something like an A280 from Star Wars, more of an assault rifle.

Thanks for all the work! We have some stuff to go off of now. :)

If anyone else wants to pitch in and make some more concept sketches that would be welcome, as well. :)

Yup. We don't really get days off for American holidays except big ones like Christmas. :( ;)

BTW, Jay, I can now use Photoshop CS2 for any design work you might need (as opposed to the older program I had earlier) Let me know if you need anything...but I'll let Varon and Elanhil stick with the blaster rifle.

I could make a small donation, possibly. I'd need to ask my dad to help me send you money, but it might not work out as he doesn't know anything about you. :? I'll try and convince him you are trustworthy. ;)

Thanks, haha. It would be appreciated.

I had to foot the bill for holyworlds.org, because some (all) people didn't make the donations. Hope it turns out better this time. :)

I think it is good enough to start working in 3D. Though more details and maybe extra barrels coming out of the front could make it easier.

Yup, that is the only way we have to do it right now. Just paypal it to my regular address. I will use it for the right purpose. :)

Well, my dad is pretty busy right now, (as in, this month, not this hour) so I'm not gonna bother him with it. Anything else I can help with?

Yes! A sci-fi forum! I write mainly sci-fi, which is why you don't really see me around here much. But on a new forum...I'd have more to do. :D

I'd like the new forum to have a lighter color scheme. This one's okay, but some things are hard to read. Maybe...light blue and silver. :D And I'm willing to be some sort of official person there. I am, after all, one of the biggest writers of sci-fi that I know. ;)

The lighter color scheme, and being an official type-person, and being one of the biggest sci-fi writers I know.

Thought you might like that idea. :)

And yes, we are thinking of a lighter color scheme for it. And silver is one of the colors.

We will definitely consider you. :D I don't want to be squished by my cousin... ;)

And ya know...I don't really feel like I fit in here. I love fantasy, but I've always had a harder time writing it. Plus very few fantasy books I've read are actually good enough in my opinion, it's just a select few that are incredible.

There are a lot of people like that in the world. I am hoping that the Sci-Fi forum (which has been beset by technical difficulties... * sigh *) will meet those people's needs just like this forum has the fantasy people.

Technical difficulties seem to be the fad these days...

I'm sure the sci-fi forum will be great. I'll try to get some of my other sci-fi writing friends to check it out. And could I be...an administrator? :D Not sure how that would work with my super-slow dialup connection, but we might be getting high-speed internet soon.

You might be, you might. We shall see, haha.

I would really appreciate that, if you could. :)

Here is part of the problem, everyone. Some ... person ... took holyuniverse.org, which was mean of them (unless it was one of you, getting it as a present for us, and forgot to tell us, in which case that was nice of you, and please cough it up :D ). So we are having to rethink the naming.

One idea is to have Holy Worlds be the umbrella name, and have the other divisions named like Holy Worlds Sci Fi and Holy Worlds Fantasy, etc.

It wasn't me.

Though, I can't find it using the url, or a search. Holy Worlds as an umbrealla name would work.

Can you find out who it was? You could offer to buy it, but that would be more expensive. We could always go to 'holy spheroids' :D When it says 'server not found' does that mean it's up for grabs?

No, it means it can't find the server for it. :(

Jay's right, it's been taken. I think Holy Worlds as an umbrella name would work really well, I've thought that from the beginning. (Not sure if I said so or not...) or you could just hyphenate the name or use some other domain-name-has-been-taken-but-I-want-it-anyway trick. holy-universe.org is available.

I think that Holy Worlds as an umbrella name would be great. Whenever I think of the phrase "Holy Universe", it makes me think of New Age philosophy. :) If we used Holy Worlds for the umbrella, then we would have Holy Worlds Christian Fantasy and Holy Worlds Christian SciFi, which is a lot more descriptive.

Just my ideas.

Unfortunately, I don't think I could be of much help on sci-fi site... I'm not really into science fiction. :D

You know what? Why don't you make it part of my domain, mindwielders.com? :D I wanted to have a forum, so if I'm going to be somewhat in charge of this sci-fi one, might as well have it on my site. I actually don't have anything up on mindwielders. The main site would have to have a link to the forum, though, because I have other things to put on my website. The direct url could be something like http://www.mindwielders.com/forum.

How does that sound?

I hate Them. When I tried to register www.intothebook.com, the mean people registered .com and .org so I was left with .net . And when I tried to register my personal site www.13923.com, they took that and I had to settle for 139-23.com. Life is tough...

By the way, I'm very much in favor of your holy worlds idea...but that would involve some redoing of the home page, obviously, plus some rethinking of the sub-domains and structure of the website. :)

If holy-universe.org is available, I'd go with that. It's not exactly like holyworlds, but it's ok.

I like holyworldscifi and holyworldsfantasy. I'm partial to .com because that is what people think of first, but since the main page is on a .org it would make more sense to have uniformity.

One reason why names get taken is because you search for that name before you can buy it. Then when you try, it's taken. Or at least that's what I learned. So, please don't search for these names.

I like the umbrella name idea. :) Would we have to register separately, or would our accounts on here carry over?

Here is my most recent plan, which I am thinking of carrying out.

First, register holyworlds.com.

Second, move what we have on holyworlds.org right now to holyworlds.org/fantasy.

Third, build a new home page for the umbrella site at the root.

Fourth, create the sci-fi site at holyworlds.org/scifi.

That saves us a ton of money, and it makes a ton of sense.

1) I would be using the same 'site' on my host. Which saves money.

2) There would be less domain names purchased (actually, no more than we already would, since holyworlds.com needs to be bought anyways).

Make sense?

Yep. I like this better than the other suggestions, and that it saves money is awesome!

Definitely. I really like that idea.

Sounds good! What do you need holyworlds.com for?

In a world without superheroes, who will stand against the forces of evil?

Yes. That is the best idea possible.

I'm sort of asking the same thing Janin is asking...why not just put the Umbrella site at holyworlds.org and then have each sci-fi and fantasy respectively be a sub-domain or something like that. Examplia gratia (or however you say it):

www.holyworlds.org (Which we already have)
www.sci-fi.holyworlds.org (Which could be added to the domain for free since we own holyworlds.org)
 www.fantasy.holyworlds.org (same as above)

Why buy a .com domain and lose the traffic that we already have coming to www.holyworlds.org? (I guess, traffic is mainly regulars like us, but still)
