Well, as some of you know, my Grandma goes in for surgery tomorrow morning. She will have a very long, and possibly very painful, 6 week recovery period. I don’t expect anyone to miss me, since my Aunt (EMT) is flying in to stay for a month and help me take care of her, but this is a warning, just in case. It could be difficult to juggle all the things going on right now, plus my Grandma and HW. So we shall see. This is not really a farewell, just an “In case something happens”.

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

I've already been missing you, so nothing would change. ;)

I'll be praying, Airi! It's lovely that you can be there for your Grandma. :)

Thanks, girl. It is a blessing to be able to clear things off my schedule to help take care of Grandma.

It's so wonderful that you put your friends and family members above Holy Worlds in your priority list. :) I will pray that your Grandma has a good recovery.

*smiles * Thanks, Aemi. My family and friend are very important to me.

Okay. I am turning in for the night, but I wanted to give you a brief update. My Grandma came out of surgery as well as could be expected. She is obviously in pain, but she is keeping a brave face on the situation. From a granddaughter standpoint I am not happy with how the incision sites look, but from a medical standpoint things look good. The nurses said something about the tissue and seepage and it being a good sign.

Oh yes, I forgot. No cancer was found in the lymphs upon inspection, which was good (they removed 2 during surgery to test). However, they have to be sent off to the lab before we can verify that it has not spread to them.

The hope is to come home from the hospital today.

Grandma has been having some swelling in her right arm from all of this. I'm guessing because of the lymphs they removed from that arm to check. It is making it hard to move her hand and keep it from getting stiff. I'm hoping it will go down later today, once she is able to settle in at home.

*smiles fondly at her HWers *

I shall let you know how things go. I will be scarce today, just as a warning. We need to get Grandma settled in. But I will update you all tonight.

*sighs * Grandma had a patient join her in her room during the middle of the night, so she didn't get any sleep. This morning she woke up with a headache and vomited multiple times. We finally got to bring her home. She is now settled in, has eaten and held down some food, and is sleeping. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Thanks for all your prayers, guys. :D

Grandma is doing as well as can be expected. We are monitoring her pain, which is actually doing a bit better today. Her tubes have to be emptied fairly frequently, and are very red, but that should start to get better in a week or so.

This thread may now be archived. My Grandma is no longer under house arrest, for lack of a better term, and doing pretty good. She has some fluid building up, and will need to have it removed with a needle Monday, but all is well, at this point.
