Hi there! I either come up with brilliant titles right away, or I can think forever and never get one I like. I recently wrote a short story that deserves a decent title, so I thought maybe ya'll could help me out.
It's about a world where music, color, and light are all forms of ordinary magic. They exist in balance, so when the color magicians attempt to destroy music so they can have more power for themselves the entire system falls. The world is condemned to be dull, drab, and silent for twenty three years, until the last surviving harper comes down out of the mountains and begins to bring music back to a single village.
Of course, once music returns the balance is restored, but that's not part of this story. It's just about that one ray of light, that one dash of hope.
So far my title ideas look like this:
The Last something or other. (Poet, Harper, Musician...)
The Lost something or other.
Something less cliche and more engaging
Something including the word "Silence."
Any better ones?
