Well, has any one seen it? If so, what did you think?
I was especially drawn to the movie simply because the score is written by John Williams. The acting was good, there was little (if any) objectionable content, and great screenplay.
I can't say I was particulary moved by it, mainly for the reason that I rarely empathize with animals. Still, it was certainly a good movie.
What did you think?

No, War Horse is Spielberg's latest film that has just been nominated for best picture at the academy awards.
It is about a boy looking for his horse that was taken from him and made into a war horse to serve in WWI.

I haven't seen, but I my mom might be interested in seeing it.

I've seen it described as Schindler's List, except with horses.

Oh! That sound interesting. :D Thanks for the summary, Joe.

I would highly recommend this. It is brilliant, the best film of the year so far. :) I was very impressed with it, and would watch it over and over again. I know my Mother and my sister, and in fact all my family, will love it!

It is sad, but not hopeless. Personally, I wouldn't describe it as Schindler's List with horses, although quite a few people do die. The horse doesn't die, however, which is why I don't think it's too sad.

The film reminded me a lot of Black Beauty. It has sad parts in it: like where you get to know a horse and then it dies, or is killed etc; there is death in the film, but it has a happy ending. I liked it and I do not like sad films or films with sad endings. It is sad in parts, but not overly sad for it to be depressing.

Other people who take care of the horse. The whole movie was a good representation of the death and horror of war, I thought. But I appreciated that the horse didn't die, since that differentiates it from the hordes of sob stories that ends with the death or maming of the horse.

I found War Horse pretty boring. I managed to get through it though. I wouldn't watch it again.

*gasps* *swoons* Delightful movie. :dieshappy:

Sure it's not fast pace constant action, but it's intelligent, and in some aspects beautiful. The symbolism is really well-done. They tell the story well. They captured the time period REALLY well.

Aaaand Tom Hiddleston is in it.

So basically it's perfect. ;)

Watch the movie all ya'll.

I really liked the movie. (And I usually don't like horse films.) It started really slow but once the war actually started it was great.

Is it scary? I was thinking of getting it for my sister when it came out on DVD.
