Cory: We did. But Seymour's half Elf, so it was hardly fair.

Raven: I only just got here, and I've already had two invitations to duel! (@Werynn) What's wrong with Jesse and I dueling? (@Felicia) You don't have to learn another sword for us to fight. I can just use my side sword. (@Sam) Uh...what would we want mice and foxes for? And what kind of 'help' would you need to catch deer? *smiles through mask*
Carter: *smile playing around corners of mouth* Maybe an arrow? Deer are a little easier to shoot than ropes.
Raven: Would you please quit bothering me about that?!

Marian: (@Camden) Thank you, my lord.

Strongflank: Thank you, Theron, this seems to be an interesting place, much more so than the computer files and papers I've been sitting in.

Strongflank: And for all of you who might be wondering, all of us unicorns in Lescatia have black horns. Some also have a stripe of red or yellow in their horn, but none of us have sissy pink or purple horns. *Snorts*

Aaron: [Releases finger from switch on desk, as several spears begin rising in a circle around Tynx, beginning from the side closer to the desk, but they are angled toward the center] Get past that.

Me: Welcome everybody.

Me: He's for welcoming purposes. I also think blue-footed boobies are cute.

Steve: Hi.

Dan: *giggle*

Sam: I'd catch foxes for their fur. And mice because they're annoying.
Foxes are also annoying, especially Tynx... but I'm not allowed to get rid of him, so I'll just have to catch wild foxes. The 'help' would either be an arrow, or a great increase in size. Yashir, I think I'd rather be a forest girl's pet than a scholar's.

Felicia: That was what I meant, Raven. I was trying to get him to let you fight on the basis that I only have one sword.

Karanzu: ::ambles in:: Hmmm, what's all going on in here? New characters?? Amanda, you have to let me in more often!!

Me: Sorry Karanzu, I forgot about you.

Karanzu: ::ignores me:: Hail, Sam. Might you want to work for me?

Sam: What sort of work?

Karanzu: Well--

Malchus: Karanzu is the antagonist, Sam! He captures people and makes them slaves. And kills them by beating them.

Sam: Oh. Well, then....


Sam bites Karanzu's leg right above his boot.

Karanzu: AHHHH!

Me: Sam, let go. We don't need any fights in here too.

Sam slithers away dejectedly.

Werynn: One, you have just gotten here. You should have time to relax. Two, he's not very good.

Jesse: I beg to differ!

Tynx: Hmm. [Backs up a few steps, then charges, colliding head-first into the spears]

Cory: [Smiles at Raven's enthusiasm. You'll find a lot more than Elves and Dragons here, Raven.

Tesmir: What's this deer/rope/arrow story?

Seymour: For background, this young man has attempted - once failed, once succeeded - in capturing a deer by the antlers in a loop of rope.

Tesmir: And the second time it worked. So it is possible to do it! No wasted arrows!

Seymour: But you almost lost your life the first time.

Tesmir: Well, Tilmere doesn't know that, so it's all good.

Jek: But for how long?

Tesmir: You tell him, I will hurt you.

Me: Jek and Tesmir are brothers. Tesmir's the youngest, and Jek second youngest, with six other brothers before them. Jek has a twin, but he's probably still resting.

Jek: Now people?

Me: Yeah, Raven of the Wood's people.

Jek: A pleasure.

Rowen: [Sniffs Raven's mask] Why do you wear a mask, little one?

Mordir: [Finally emerges form pile of books] I can breathe!

Me: Oh yeah, he's Mordir. A villain.

Mordir: Hello.

[spears splinter, but two walls appear from the ground. From above, three blades are rapidly chopping at the floor. There is no way around, except for going back very far to get around the walls.]

Aaron: Bwahaha!

Me: I'm throwing Janin and Derek back into the border lands where they can find some non-talking dragons to kill. I'm going to see if I can dig up some more amusing characters.

Sam: Aaron, why are you trying to kill Tynx? Annoying as he is, he's my friend. ::pulls a sword from the air and throws it on the ground::

Theron: I liked Derek and Janin, but if you really think they're too boring, I suppose they must leave...

Yashir: Oh well...

Me: You really want a snake? Here.

*Bubba the python appears at Yashir's feet*

Yashir: Yikes!

Bubba: What?

Yashir: You're huge!

Bubba: No I'm not, that other snake is small.

Me: Still sure you want a snake?

Yashir: Not so much.

Me: That's what I thought.

Me: Wow...let's see if I can catch up, here. Now I know why I didn't try doing this during the school year.

Much: They could have named me something else!

Raven: (@Sam) Don't you think Amanda wants to keep you in her story? (@Felicia) I see! Technically, I can fight even if he doesn't want me to, but he really is rather nice, and he's my sword teacher, so I don't really want to get him mad at me.
Carter: Raven...
Raven: I know, I know...you're just trying to protect me. *sighs* But haven't you always said it's good for me to fight more than one person, so that I can get better.
Carter: Yes....but I'd kind of rather you didn't die.
Raven: I'm not that incompetent! Besides, she won't kill me....I think.
Carter: Fine. Go ahead. Just don't blame me if you get hurt. (@Werynn) They should be a good match, then.
Raven: Caaaarter!
Carter: *smirks*
Raven: Elves. Dragons. Talking animals. Sounds like something out of Saemyr.
Me: How on earth do you know about that?
Raven: What do you think I do while I wait for you to write about me again?

Robin: (@Tesmir) When I first met Raven, he was trying to save a man condemned to hang. Unfortunately, the arrow he shot at the rope went quite a bit off course-
Raven: Not quite a bit. A little.

Raven: Fine
Robin: -and I had to save him and the man they were going to hang
Raven: and it seems I'm never going to live it down.
Robin: There weren't any deer involved, sorry. *smiles*
Raven: Unless you count the townspeople.

Cory: Much isn't a bad name. It's unique, and pretty cool.

Rowen: What is it like in your world?

Me: OK! I'm brinin' in another one! She's not quite in a story, but she will be soon, I started it today.

Cory: Another one? Don't we have enough?

Me: Probably, but I want to! And Tesmir's gotta meet her, too.

Tesmir: Sorry? Who do I have to meet?

Me: Your new friend who will be in the story. You and she play major roles.

Tesmir: [Pale green eyes flash with worry] Why do I get the feeling i have full right to be afraid?

Me: Don't know why you should be... for now. She's really nice, and really, really pretty.

Cory: Lucky you, buddy!

[A young lady the same age as Tesmir (19) steps in. She has long, blond hair in 'bouncy' ringlets. Has icy blue eyes, and wears a deep purple dress with scarlet threading.

Me: This is Ramira. Ramira, meet... everybody else. I would make a list, but there's a lot.

Ramira: A great pleasure to meet all of you.

Tesmir: [Struck speechless]

Cory: Wow... you weren't kidding when you said she was good looking.

Ramira: Not as much as some girls.

Jek: [Looks at Ramira critically]

Ramira: Oh, wow, dragons! I've never seen so many.

Tesmir: [Still can't say anything.]

Me: Well, good to know he likes her, all the better for the story.

Raven: (@Sam) Oh. Why don't you like being with Amanda's characters?(@Felicia) Sounds good! (@Alanhil) You could duel Carter! Or maybe Aric.
Carter: *smiles at Raven*
Aric: I have had enough of fighting for the present, thank you, lad.

Raven: (@Tesmir) The man was arrested and condemned to die merely for making faces at a guard.

Much: Thank you.

Raven: (@Rowen) It's just like your author's world, except I live in England in the 12th century. King Richard is away fighting in the Crusades, and his evil younger brother is reigning over England instead. Prince John and his minions, including the Sheriff of Nottingham and Sir Guy of Gisbourne oppress the people so that the Norman lords can prosper. That's why we're opposing them *motions to the rest of the band*

Marian: (@Ramira) Greetings and welcome!

Tesmir: A little overkill, don't you think? I could understand a night in prison... but hanging?

Me: Worlds are different.

Rowen: Piensor sounds more peaceful. Does this substitute's elder brother know of this?

Ramira: [Curtsies] Thank you, ma'am.

Tesmir: There's not much need for formalities here. It's a rather casual affair.

Ramira: Is it? Well, what is casual like?

Tesmir: It's.... it's hard to explain. Um... Just, act like you would around close friends, I guess.

Ramira: I don't have any here. Would you be my close friend?

Tesmir: Sorry?

Ramira: [Smiles] Will you be my first close friend? So you can show me what 'casual' is like.

Tesmir: You might want to start with lady friends.

Ramira: [Laughs] I don't bite, Tesmir. I don't have many friends, especially close ones.

Tesmir: Um... I guess.

Cory: Baby steps.

Tesmir: You say something?

Cory: Nothing.

Ramira: Come on, Tesmir. Show me everything. Especially all the dragons!

Tesmir: Rowen would be a better guide in that area.

Ramira: But you're my close friend. Show me.

Seymour: Go on, lad. Show the lady the dragons. But only touch when you have permission.

Raven:(@Tesmir) That's why he needed saving. The Sheriff will execute people for even the most minor of offenses. (@Rowen) Nobody's really sure. Messengers have been sent numerous times, but they have never come back. There is some talk that Prince John thinks to usurp King Richard's throne, but it may be merely a rumor.

Katharyn: If you need friends, Ramira, Marian and I are here. (Though we can't come into your story)
Raven: I-
Katharyn: What?
Raven: Nothing.

Ramira: Thank you.

Me: Um... OK, the story with Ramira and Tesmir might be on hold, maybe. Until I figure out what to do. I'm beginning to think what I had in mind won't be that great, so it'll be either I change it, or it'll be gone altogether.

Tesmir: You know you want to write about us.

Me: Yeah, I do. I was wanting to write about Tesmir and his brothers, but what I had in mind is more on Ramira and Tesmir. So, don't be surprised if Ramira suddenly disappears. Or, she'll have an entirely different role.

Tesmir: Are you done?

Me: Yep, I'm done. G'night, ya'll!

Niarah - Rahor and Sumira, Tesmir and Ramira, I think I can see what's happening here. Are they going to fall in--Mmph!

Me - (Hand covering Niarah's mouth) Don't say it! The authors write the stories, not you. And don't even think about biting me!

Me - Right.

[On the other side of the wall is a large meadow full of flowers, and a peaceful air]

Me: wow, did the guy ever get saved?

Me: Whoops, completely forgot about the other parts of Raven's post.

Tesmir: Sounds a little reckless. Go too far and you've got the entire city coming down on you.

Rowen: Carrier pigeons.

Cory: Come again?

Rowen: They need carrier pigeons to deliver messages. If wingless ones fail, the winged ones might succeed.

Cory: Pigeons aren't a bad idea.

Me: Raven's story sounds cool... I wanna learn more about it!

Cory: Don't you always?

Me: Well, yeah. But still. Why are you always so difficult? And.... I'm thinking I will put Ramira on hold [Puts said character into a different room] until I can figure out what to do.

Hakor: I'm back. Lorielle's still sleeping. Oh, new people. Hello.

Me: This is Hakor, Jek's twin, older by only a few minutes. Which makes Jek a seventh son, so he has better control over magic, in a way.

Jek: [Staring at the ground by his feet. A vine slithers out by Katharyn and grows, passing the other ladies in the room. A start gazer lilly blossoms by each.

Tesmir: Show off.

Jek: [Simply smiles]

Hakor: I've never seen you grow it just for show before. They're prettier.

Jek: Because I have seen no need to. And they're rushed when I use them in fighting, so they aren't fully developed.

Cory: I'm with Tesmir, it's a lot of showing off for someone with your personality.

Jek: I apologize if I have disturbed all peace as we know it.

Tesmir: Jek, you need a sense of humor. Like, really badly, need a sense of humor. We're proud of you. I know Hakor's the proudest, and Tilmere's right up next to him.

Jek: It's nothing special.

Robin: (@Merashath) I shot an arrow through the rope that the man was hanging by, before I rescued Raven. Alan and Will helped him get off the scaffold and run away.

Raven: (@Tesmir) The townspeople are too afraid of the Sheriff to rise against him. In these times, it's every family for themselves. Even if the townspeople did rebel, Prince John would rapidly send troops to stop it. Nottingham could even be razed! (@Rowen) Would carrier pigeons really fly all the way to the Holy Land?
Me: That idea was actually used by the BBC Robin Hood TV series. (@Zoey) If you want to read it, I have most of what I've written in the HWRF.

Katharyn: They're beautiful! *picks hers* Thank you, Jek!
Raven: *glances jealously at Katharyn and Marian's flowers*

Raven: The problem is...all they care about is themselves and their immediate family right now. Who cares if Tom next door is arrested, as long as it benefits their family? *grimaces* (@Rowen) My author says it's approximately two thousand, five hundred miles as the bird flies.

Jek: [Smiles faintly with just the slightest nod]

Hakor: What's up with you?

Jek: Simple memories.

Rowen: Oh, well that would be a problem. Perhaps eagles would do better. Pigeons can barely go a sliver of that amount without busting their hearts. They're too easy to catch.

Cory: I think you worry too much.

Tesmir: They need to look beyond their own doorsteps! They need to be coordinated and organized, so that when something bad does happen, they'll have the rest of the town to help! Take famine, for example, if so-and-so doesn't help the family two doors down, which is the swordsmith, and they die, what happens when the town is attacked? No swordsmith, no swords.

Cory: And... you're getting too worked up about this. I'm sure Robin and Raven and the rest can handle it. [Looks at Raven] Forgive him if he's being irritating, he's not usually like this. Usually he's a lot more cheery and positive.

Tesmir: I apologize for being this way. I get worked up too easily.

Cory: It makes you seem older. It's not normal. Stop it.

Tesmir: I can't help it.

Me: I don't think I do.

Raven: (@Jek) Memories of what?
Will: He's nosy, in case you haven't noticed.
Raven: And you're suspicious.
Will: *shrugs*

Raven: (@Cory) Who worries too much? And don't worry, Tesmir isn't bothering me. Life would be more two dimensional if there weren't people to worry and get worked up. (@Tesmir) Unfortunately, people don't think ahead. They're too worried about staying alive today. Of course, then they get mad when they don't have food, or their father gets arrested, and no one helps. *rolls eyes*

Sam: I like it here, I just thought that living in a forest would be fun.

Malchus: Theron gave up. Quite strange.

Terra: Ahh! Kimun I am SOOO sorry! My author was away for the weekend and was not able to get on HW. Shall we continue?
*Terra barely escapes Kimun's thrust. She twirls around once before going back to locking her gaze on Kimun. She steps in closer and makes a thrust of her own with her left dagger, and clashes her right blade with Kimuns.*

Me: I give you permission to hurt my character alittle, if you want to-- it makes the duel more interesting.

Me: Oops! I think I forgot to welcome Will and Carter... Am I missing enyone else?



Terra: Thank you! *Terra looks down at where Kimun's blade had cut her.* You are extremely good Kimun! This is so much harder when you're fighting differently than the Vasai tactics... It's challenging! I like it
*Terra presses forward. Trying to catch him off-guard, Terra jumps over Kimun and two slashes toward her opponents back...*

Terra: *Jumps above Kimun's strike and lands in front of her opponent. Swinging her blades up, she meets both of Kimun's in mid-air, the sound of ringing steel is heard throughout the thread.

Terra: *Terra blocks the thrust, but the power of the blow pushes her backwards and she falls onto the ground.*
Wow! That was a nice move. Looks like you won, congratulations!

Terra: Yes, I do. Thank you for dueling with me! *lets Kimun pull her up. Then she dusts herself off.*

Jek: Memories of reckless youthful adventures.

Tesmir: Because I'm an easy target.

Tesmir: Trying couldn't hurt anything. If just one man helps a woman and her children even crossing the street, that act may spark the rest. Or other farmers helping a neighbor gather in the crops before the first frost, hired or not. Just being aware that there are others around them that are in the same world and living as they are would make a difference.

Cory: Rowen worries too much about pigeons.

Rowen: [Huffs an an irritated way] I do not worry about pigeons, young one. They are weak, and therefore no fun to hunt.

Hakor: I doubt they'd be much of a meal, too.

Saiph: [Watching Kimun and Terra] Wow, they're good.

Shadow: They are. Kimun seems to have many years worth of training and experience.

Cory: Seymour?

Seymour: [Looks at Cory]

Tesmir: Oh come on, Seymour.

Me: Don't forget, Sey, You've got a duel date with Niarah..... which hasn't been quite decided on but still.

Me: I'm going to try and work on some fantasy characters to help develop culture and mindset. It's hard to duel with sci-fi.

I have scifi characters too. This is why Jay's making a scifi forum. But maybe we should set up a "Introduce your scifi characters" So we can keep our technology out of the way of all these dragons and swords. I think that's the problem. I haven't worked with my fantasy characters in a really long time, it's my scifi ones that are new and exciting.
