Theron: Janin, I can help you with that fear of talking to dragons...

Karanzu: Hey, Iri! I'm a villian! I can go over there and help you outnumber the protaginsts.

Me: No, Karanzu, you are staying here.

::Karanzu steps through boundary::

Karanzu: am I?

Me: Yes.

::Karanzu finds himself pulled into the post by some sort of electric force::

Karanzu: HEY!

Me: ::smiles happily::

Felicia jumps three feet back and glances disdainfully at her full skirt. No rip shows, though. She glances at Amanda.

Me: You're welcome.

Felicia: Hrm.

Felicia desperately thinks of some superpower she can use. Suddenly, her hair turns to flames.

Felicia: WHOA!!!

Me: It's only for this fight, k?

Felicia spins in a quick, tight circle, her past waist length hair acting as a sort of fiery whip. She swings her sword, which is looking like it might burst into flames at any moment, at Taiven.

Me: Sorry about the misspelling, TaIven. :D

*Taiven pins up her waist-length braid of black hair into a bun, making sure it doesn't get singed*

Taiven: That's fine. :) The 'i' does look like it is in a different place if you only glance at it... Whoa! Nice hair! :D

*Taiven's sword and arm is suddenly wrapped in a ribbon of water. Taiven then strikes through the fire and continues to battle with Felicia. The water from Taiven's arm then jumps onto Felicia's sword and part of her hair, dousing some of the flames.*

Rahor - Fire vs. Water. This is going to be really, really good.

Sumira - (To Malka) I guess we aren't exactly alone . . .

Niarah - I could have told you that.

(Sumira shrugs airily, then dances a few steps away)

Niarah - So Janin, you're a prince? My brother, Rahor, is a prince as well, as is Lady E's Clark over there. And if you've missed it, dragons aren't the only animals talking.

Thysal - (Circles the forum, then lands within the post margins) Talking snow leopards are stranger than talking dragons, methinks. Janin, I think you'll find that most of dragons are pretty friendly. Not harmless, but friendly. (casually frosts the post margins).

Rahor - I'm sure they appreciated that. Robert and Jalthien, welcome! Glad you can join this crazy group in the world between worlds.

Niarah - Sounds like something out of the introduction posts.

Me - You've been to the personal intro threads? How did you get there?

Niarah - Umm . . .

Terra: I have decided that I would like to battle someone, if anyone is up to it. :D

Eli: What weapon will you use?

Terra: If someone decides to fight me, I would like to use my daggers :D

Eli: Well, that person will be in for a surprise then ;)

Terra: Shhh! don't say anything!! Anyone want to accept my challenge? :D

Felicia: Amanda!

Me: Hmmmm.....

Felicia quickly blocks Taiven's sword as the fire in her hair increases. The water on Taiven suddenly explodes.

Me: Did you know that when you throw water on a grease fire, it'll explode? One glass of water can turn into a 30 foot fireball. (And yes, I only know this because on Mythbusters)

Felicia steps back to watch the destruction, but her sword is still ready.

Felicia: Next time, how about either Taiven doesn't try water, or you don't use a grease fire, eh?

Me: Why?

Felicia: You roasted the bouquet of flowers Alanhil picked for me.

Me: Oh.

Terra: *Pulls two, shining daggers out from pockets in her cloak, each are about as long as half her arm. She spins them in her grasp for a moment before spreading her feet apart and looking at her counterpart.* Shall we begin? :)

*hearing the challenges Derek looks expectantly at Janin*

Janin: No.

Me: It's your decision. Talk or fight. I didn't bring you here to stand in a corner and sulk.

Janin: First my father, then my teacher, and now you. And I laughed at Herene when he told me I couldn't change my destiny...

Derek: Please don't get started on destiny.

Me: Did I mention that this is a land between times too?

Janin: A land between-- No. You wouldn't do that to me.

Me: I might. If you don't loosen up. You're supposed to enjoy yourself. Forget about Herene for five minutes. Talk to those big cats over there. They're royalty too, or have you forgotten your manners to such an extant that you don't think you have to greet them properly?

Janin: All right, my apologies. Your Majesties, Prince Clark, *to me* Do I have to be polite to dragons too?

Me: Yes.

Janin: I apologize if I seemed rude. Are talking dragons common in your... worlds? And fear not, good people, I have absolutely no intention of calling anyone peasants. A King's first duty is to his subjects...

Theron: I can only speak in this thread. It was a power granted me by my author because she couldn't stand a silent dragon.

Me: Not exactly.

Theron: ::ignores me:: I believe, however, that all the other dragons speak in their respective stories.

Me: Oh.. OK. I'm calm now.

Cory: Thank you.

Lorielle: Oh, oh! Seymour's roy-

Me: Oh oh oh nothing. DOn't ruin plots!

Cory: It's not crucial.

Me: Argh, alright fine. I'll bring Rowen back, too. Just because.

Tesmir: Next thing you know she'll be bringing everyone.

Me: No, I won't. That would be way too many to handle.

Saiph: Huh? Battle?

Spica: Um.. I'm out.

Saiph: Uh, I don't have a weapon... but I could try, I guess.

Lorielle: Anyways! Seymour's royalty, too! He's kinda like a prince. I think?

Seymour: In a sense.

Me: But there is no king.

Seymour: I am one, but.. it's complicated.

Werynn: The gold dragon on your clothing would certainly identify you as royalty.

Seymour: Aye, it could, so long as one knew that.

Tynx: I'm not lonely, I'm havign fun!

Me: I'd be worried if you weren't.

Cory: Does he ever get tired?

Jesse: Probably not.

Me: [Catches the pistol.] Thanks, but I've given up using Internet Explorer for now.

Cory: So, what're you gonna do with that?

Me: Keep it and make sure no villain gets a hold of it. Oh, and welcome to the new people!

Shadow: This is quite the place here.

Saiph: You bet it is.

Seymour: It's good to see duels at a more controlled level.

Tesmir: You're saying ours wasn't?

Seymour: I'm referring to the near-war we almost had.

Hakor: That... that would've been bad.

Me: Mythbusters are awesome.

Cory: Why do you use that smiley?

Me: 'Cause I can.

Cory: Stop it. It's weird.

Me: No.

Seymour: Children.

Me: I didn't start it.

Spica: So... this place is like a meeting room, Shadow? Like what you told me about?

Shadow: It seems so. But for many different worlds.

Me: Shadow's kind of like a tutor to Saiph and Spica. Since they don't know much about the Human world. Saiph especially, though.

Saiph: Keep in mind that it's not our fault.

Me: DOn't get started, please.

Tynx: They look weird. What are they?

Me: Gribbles. Go play with a snake or something. Keep yourself busy. Endanger yourself.

Tynx: [Eyes widen] Really.

Me: Sure. Knock yourself out.

Tynx: I'll go find one! [Dashes off]

Lorielle: I wanna see Seymour duel somebody! Not me, 'cause I'd get beaten in no time.

Tesmir: We all would. But all of us dueling him isn't such a bad idea. Let's do it, at least until someone else want's in.

Cory: Do you want to be humiliated again?

Tesmir: I was NOT humiliated.

Lorielle: Yeah, let's do it!

Seymour: I got myself into a world of trouble, didn't I?

Me: You might have, yes.

Me: Ooooo. I have an idea.

Malchus: What is it this time?

::snake appears on the ground infront of Malchus::

Malchus: AHHHHHHHHHH!

Me: Malchus, meet Sam.

Malchus: Sam?

Me: The snake.

::throws Sam in Tynx's direction::

Me: I made him for Tynx.

Malchus: Oh, boy....

Jalthien: Thank you, Malchus and Rahor, it is good to finally be out of that computer.

Me: Sorry, I've been working at camp!

Jalthien: So you say.

Robert: Can you bring in some more characters? I'm kinda bored.

Me: You could join in one of the duels.

Robert: But I'm not a fighter...

Jalthien: Not yet, wait till you get the Armor.

*A set of armor and a sword appears on Robert*

Me: There you go.

Robert: Umm, I'm still not so sure about this.

*I snap my fingers and the armor vanishes*

Me: Fine, go mingle then.

Robert: Okay. *begins to walk over to the post margin*

Jalthien: It would be nice if you would bring in Julianna or Yashir. Just don't bring that Sorcerer or Luphsaff. Definitely not Luphsaff.

Me: Actually I was considering bringing in some of the Gribthyn, but I don't have names for any of them yet...

Jalthien: You authors...

Robert: So, any one else from earth? Or at least human?

Arionwyn: I'm human! I'm human!

Clark: I'm half. As was my sister.

Smoky: Was?

Clark: Nevermind.

Iri: If the talking dragons annoy you, I'd be happy to shut them up.

Smoky: Only because Blaze shut Snow up.

Iri: *draws his blade and lunges at the dragon, but Smoky lifts his upper lip in a snarl of warning and he thinks better of it*

Me: You have got to learn to control your temper.

Thysal - Ouch, Iri. If any other charrie suggested that, I'd freeze them. By the way, what did Snow look like? Was she/he an ice dragon as well?

Niarah - Thysal, don't go probing old wounds.

Rahor - (walks over to the margins) Robert, I'm not sure I heard where you hail from. And what do you mean when you refer to "the Armor"?

Niarah - So, lets count dragons. So far we have Smoky, Thysal, Eclipsi, Rowen, Thuron, Sam . . .

Thysal - Sam's a snake, not a dragon!

Sumira - Big difference, I'm sure. Anyway, is she missing anyone?

Thysal - BIG DIFFERENCE. Go ask any other dragon around here. Snakes are snakes, dragons are dragons.

Sumira - *shrugs, and softly drifts off, swaying to an inaudible melody*

Niarah - Apparently she's really dreamy today.

Malchus: I am human, Robert, as are Camden, Tirahi, Dialo, and Alanhil&Felicia.

Camden: Hey, I wanted to reveal that information!

Theron: I am not a human.... merely a dragon with a temper. ;) And the name's ThEron, Niarah, not Thuron...

Me: ::sigh:: Another post of picky and snappy characters...

Malchus: Hey, I was good!

Me: See? ;)

Dialo: Sumira, Sam is a dra--OW!!!!

::Sam bites Dialo on the wrist and hangs on::

Me: Enough, now.

::Sam drops off of his arm, but coils by his legs::

Dialo: I mean, a snake.

::Satisfied, Sam slithers off in pursuit of Tynx.::

Robert: I'm glad to see I'm not totally alone here. :) *to Rahor* I'm originally from New Hampshire, Earth. I moved a few weeks ago to Wales and just recently I was transported to Lescatia which is where I was before we came into this thread. The Armor is in reference to the Armorbearer prophecy that I supposedly have come to fulfill. I'm not entirely sure on the details, but Jalthien knows more.

*Jalthien walks over*

Jalthien: Towards the end of the third age the land of Lescatia was in turmiol, so Theos had the best smiths of the men and gribthyn forge a set of armor which he blessed. Each piece of the armor conferred its own blessing to the one who wore it, and through the use of the armor peace came to Lescatia. After a generation of peace however the Armor was lost and now lies mostly forgotten. The prophesy states that during a time of great distress one will appear who is a "traveler of worlds" who will bear the armor and defeat the armies of evil. This is such a time, the sorcerer of whom I spoke is leading an army of evil creatures against our fair land with the intent to destroy it.

*authors note: the Armor correlates to the armor of God (ephesians 6:10-20), but I have yet to come up with a viable name for it other than the Armor.*

Robert: Right, that.

Me: what types of dragons do you all have? european? oriental? winged? wyverns (snake with wings)? original design?

Rahor - Ah, the Armor of God. I remember reading that. I really like how you use Scripture for that Armorbearer prophecy.

Niarah - That's really neat, I'll have to agree.

Thysal - I think we dragons are mostly European style. I'm from an Oriental-type northland, but I think I look like a normal dragon . . . Just not sure what "normal" is.

Sumira - "Normal" is not a dragon.

Me - I attached a picture of Thysal to this post; now I won't have to describe her type. ;)

Me: Ok, cool. So she's fairly typical then.

Robert: Why didn't you put dragons in our story?

Me: *motioning all around* Because everyone has dragons and I wanted to be different.

Robert: Oh.

Me: I really should work on your fauna more though, maybe you can have wyverns.

Janin: I'm confused. In that other place there was just me and-

Me: I told you not to talk about that.

Janin: So? I don't hear me giving you orders, and I'm the prince around here. What are you anyway?

Me: Just... never mind. It's too complicated for you to understand.

Janin: You would say that. Now you sound like Yancy.

Derek: Yancy?

Janin: My brother. Why are you grinning at me like that? Like... like you know something?

Derek: You think too much. I wonder what it would be like to battle an ice dragon.

Janin: Don't even think about it.

Derek: Why? I'm getting bored. You drag me into unwanted adventures, why can't I do the same thing?

Janin: Because you don't know what you're doing.

Derek: And you do?

Janin: And I don't trust this place.

Derek: You trust the border kingdoms.

Janin: they knew my name.

Derek: So?

Janin: and- and- and I can't let you take necessary risks!!!

Me: Relax. No one dies here. Trust me.

Derek: I just wonder what it would be like, that's all. I mean, with fire breathing dragons they've developed ways to protect against the heat, but that would all be rather ineffectual against ice, don't you think? And ice is much more devastating if its cold enough. Freezing could be instantaneous. No escape. So I wonder how they do it. They must have a weakness of some sort...

Janin: you know an awful lot about dragons...

Derek: I've killed a lot.

Me: you can't kill any of these. But it seems like several would be willing to duel with you, if you like.

Derek: Janin?

Janin: No.

Derek: Come on. I can't take on a whole dragon by myself.

Janin: No.

Me: *to everyone else* He's brooding. You'll just have to excuse him for now until I find away to cheer him up... (I like Sam the Snake. Maybe I should make a snake.)

Me:[sits down in easy-chair] Oooooh... Glad I'm the author. [ice tea appears in hands]

Ben: What's with him?

Tom: He fell behind a full two pages, and now he's tired from reading.

Me: How'd you know?

Dan: Don't ask him. He just mysteriously knows things.

Aaron: [pushes button on desk, and snake falls to the ground] Tynx, which snake are you gonna go for, Sam, or my little boy who has a trap behind him. I know you love adventure.

Me: Oooh, I think Aaron wants to duel you.

Aaron: If he goes for the snake, yes. *evil grin*

Me: In that case, Tynx can come through into my post, if he wants.
__________

Steve: Hi.

Jacob: Whoah!!! Whose that?????

Me: He's steve, a blue-footed booby, probably the cutest bird created.

Steve: Hi.

Me: Oh, and he's not saying hi, it's the sound he makes.

Steve: Hi.

Tom: But, why did you make him?

Me: There's a magazine on my desk with a pic. of a blue-footed booby, so I made Steve.

Steve: Hi.

Me: I'm not even sure if that's the sound they make, I just made it up.

Me: Oh yeah, hi to all the new charies!

Me: I REALLY need to check this thread more often.

Eli: That Armor sounds really neat! I am human, and Terra is half human and half Vasai... a elvish type race in our world. :D

Terra: *Takes a few steps towards Kimun and makes a quick slash with one of her daggers. She swings the other dagger lower than the first, but Kimun blocks it...* :D

Me: I'm using Safari, but it just now logged me out. I think I might use that pistol.

Cory: Or, just get someone to help you fix it. Or, live with it.

Tynx: Oooohhhh.... Gotcha! [Pounces on Sam, holding him in his mouth, then turns and pounces on the other one Got 'em!

Me: Oh boy, lots of mine are Human. Lorielle, Cory, Mordir, Tesmir, Jek, Hakor, Jesse, and Shadow.

Rowen: I will be happy to duel someone.

Seymour: Alright, if the young ones here are ready. [Lifts staff.]

Lorielle: Awesome!

Tesmir: Let's get started

Me: You're all funny.

Tynx: [Swinging both snakes in a circle]

Eclipsi: To answer an early question of yours Janin, the dragon's on Laishna can all talk, though the smaller ones in the forests known as the Betsalela Keepers can only talk through your mind. Anyway, my type of dragon is a bit more reptilian than Thysal. There aren't a lot of dragons on Laishna, I myself have only met around 12. The biggest population of dragons is in Belnator, which is the First City of the Dragons, though it is in a dormant volcano's crater on an island. :D :D

Mattimeo: Eclipsi, what is Taiven doing? I told her not to battle. :?

Eclipsi: Relax, she's fine. :)

Meanwhile...

Taiven: Fine, I'm done with the water anyway.

*Taiven lets her braided hair out from it's bun and it turns to flames like Felicia's*

Taiven: Let's fight fire-to-fire instead :)

*Taiven flings herself at her opponent, sword swinging at Felicia's upper body*

Janin: great. Telepathic dragons. I thought Widar was the only one who could get inside my mind.

Derek: Relax Janin, I don't think that they're here.

Cory: Rowen's kind of telepathic. Except he doesn't get into your mind, he just speaks with his, but it's basically like talking.

Rowen: So I can talk and breathe fire at the same time. It's called multi-tasking, I believe. Very handy.

Tynx: [Still swinging the snakes by their tails}

Lorielle: Cory!

Cory: Cory what?

Tesmir: C'mon, Benjamin, we need you over here. Else Seymour's gonna have our hides on the ground in no time.

Jek: You doubt our skills?

Tesmir: No, I doubt them when Cory's not part of them.

Cory: Do I have to?

All four: Yes!

Cory: Ugh. OK fine.

Seymour: Are you all ready now?

Hakor: Aye.

Seymour: Let us begin.

Me: And thus, the result shall be revealed later....

Cory: You're doing it again.

Yashir: This is interesting!

Jalthien: Yashir, where did you come from?

Yashir: I don't know, but look over there. That guy's fighting with two swords and those girls have flaming hair.

Robert: And that doesn't disturb you?

Yashir: No, should it?

Me: I told him what was going on before I brought him here.

Robert: Now how is that fair?

Me: Who ever said that I had to be fair? Get over it. @Zoey You should definitely get Chrome.

Jalthien: Eli the Armor is very neat.

Me: Great, now it sounds like I'm bragging.

Jalthien: Get over it.

Me: You better watch it, I'm the Author here.

Jalthien: My apologies.

Aaron: [Releases finger from switch on desk, and net falls from ceiling]

Jacob: There's a ceiling?

Tom: RUN, TYNX, RUN!!

Me: Ooh, Aaron, remember, no Cobha...

Aaron: Unless he allows it. What I had in mind, using my desk, I would make an obstacle course, and he has to make it to my desk in 5 minutes. If I can prevent him, I win. If not, he wins.

Kimun flicks his sword to the side, tossing the attack off with ease, and thrusting with his off-hand, stepping in closer. His eyes lock on his opponent's, morphing and slowly burning within like deeply buried coals.

Felicia pulls her sword up and blocks the strike, returning it with a slash to the legs and another to the shoulder. She ignores Taiven's flaming hair.

Sam: AHHHHHHHHhhhhHHHHHHhhhhHHHH!

Camden: Hey, Sam, just bite him!

Sam: AHHHHHHHHhhhhHHHHHHhhhhHHHH!

Malchus: Sam, bite the fox!

Sam: AHHHHHHHHhhhhHHHHHHhhhhHHHH!

::Sam uses the momentum to swing up and grab hold of Tynx's ear.::

Sam: Muh ha ha!

Camden: I didn't know snakes could laugh...

Me: Well, so far Safari's holding up. I'm not so stressed out that I need a new server. But thanks for the suggestion. ;)

Jesse: OK... only Seymour and Cory are left.

Lorielle: I'm... I'm gonna go lie down.

Rowen: That bad, huh?

Tesmir: I think we seriously underestimate Seymour.

Jek: You think?!

Hakor: Tesmir, I know we underestimate him, I don't just think.

Me: You're all wimps.

Cory: [Ducks a slash from Seymour] You try it, then.

Me: Don't have a weapon.

Saiph: We'd be split right in half against that thing....

Shadow: But first he would have to catch you.

Saiph: True. But he's fast. Cory's having a hard time avoiding him.

Cory: Because he's half-Elf, he has a bit of the Elven speed in him. [Ducks again and drops into a crouch and swings his leg out in one fluid motion, tripping Seymour. Then rolls away and stands up, only to find the dull end of Seymour's bladed staff touching his neck.] What-

Seymour: Good maneuver, boy, but you are too predictable. I win. [Taps Cory's shoulder with the flat of the blade and withdraws it]

Tynx: Huh? [Looks up just as the net comes down] Oh, didn't see that -OW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Scratches at ear, then shakes head] Alright, if you wanna play that way. [Punces on other snake, pries open the mouth and sticks sam into it and closes it.]

Werynn: He is quick to react.

Tynx: [Rolling around trying to remove the net, but just makes it worse. Then stands and stick all four paws through the gaps.] Ha ha!

Werynn: And.... unexpected? Where does this thing come from, again?

Jesse: An air ship, I believe.

Rowen: [Fans out wings lazily] Lots of battles. It's making me excited.

Cory: WHere'd the otehrs go?

Me: To rest. You should, too.

Cory: I'm fine. Pride's a little wounded, but I'll live.

Seymour: You fought well, young man. You should have no problem making your enemies think twice about confronting you. But you shouldn't be so predictable.

Cory: I am not. You're just used to the way to battle.

Seymour: I wouldn't be if you used a sword.

Cory: Why do I have to? Those things are way too bulky and hard to carry. I like to stay out of sight and hearing in battle.

Seymour: You would make a fine Elf, Cory.

Tynx: [Pokes Sam's belly] Well, can yours let go of my ear? I think it's bleeding.

Me: I love it when our housecat gets so focused on outdoor life. Like birds and bugs. She's so funny.

Me: Prob'ly might wanna... that's fun to say. You sound liek a little four year-old, Tynx.

Tynx: Oh, thanks.

Me: *sigh* Now I know why they call it character development. I love Tynx! I want Tynx! I'm beginning to wonder why I don't have any talking animals of my own. :D

Me: I only have one talking animal so far, meet Strongflank.

*A large, dappled unicorn with a viciously sharp black horn appears*

Strongflank: *whinnies* Hello, what are all these bipeds doing here?

Me: They're hanging out, talking and dueling.

Jalthien: Strongflank, good to see you again.

Strongflank: You also, Jalthien. It has been to long. *Snorts at me*

Me: Sorry, I haven't gotten to you quite yet in the re-write...

Strongflank: Is that why I feel less developed?

Me: Whatever.

Me: I'm afraid Tynx isn't for sale.

Tynx: [Riggles out] Cool! Thanks Sam!

Rowen: [Sniffs Strongflank] I have never seen a horse like you.Do all horses grow horns in your world?

Cory: Those are called unicorns, Rowen. They're a rarer kind of horse.

Rowen: Oh.

Seymour: I have never seen one with a black horn.

Me: You've never seen one period.

Jesse: [Hides a smile]

Sam: You're welcome. I would bow, but I don't think I can.

Me: I want some sense of realism here!

Malchus: Ooo, a unicorn with a black horn! Neato. Amanda, are there unicorns in our world?

Me: I haven't decided yet. There might be. Armorbearer, you've now made me want to go draw a unicorn with a black horn! :)

Theron: Welcome, Strongflank!

Me: Because you need to know some things about some characters, that other characters can't know I'll introduce them myself, instead of letting them do it.

[Raven: Her real name is Rosamund. She is the daughter of the Sheriff of Nottingham, but because she didn't approve of her father's actions, she ran away and joined Robin's band. She is masquerading as a boy, and wears a mask.
Robin Hood: Well, everyone knows him!
Marian: ditto.
Carter: Marian's younger brother. He lives with their father, and acts as castle spy.
Aric Eaglesword: A masked man under the protection of the band. Nobody, not even Raven knows who he really is (except the author, but I'm not telling!).
Will Gamwell/Scarlet: Robin's nephew.
Katharyn Gamwell/Scarlet: Robin's niece and Will's sister
Much:a random member of the band :) ]

Raven: A duel! *starts to run towards Kimun and Terra*
Carter: Raven!
Raven: What?
Carter: They don't need any help. Besides, you aren't used to using both swords yet.
Raven: Then you go!
Carter: I don't think they would appreciate my interference.

Much: I always knew dragons and unicorns were real!
Katharyn: They are not! They're only real in stories!
Much: We are in a story.
Katharyn: *dumbfounded silence*
