This is kind of a history/ the story of the people/tribes/races, so bear with me.
The people of Yardeniya or a varying peoples. They have no one specific skin color, as you will see when I further develop my story. Yardeniya is basically supposed to signify the Kingdom of Jerusalem, and is just a peninsula attached to another world that isn't really relevant to the story. The Kingdom of Yardeniya is surrounded by smaller kingdoms, it being the largest of all. When Rozen is made king I kind of made it like when the Jewish people made Saul their first King. Like Saul, Rozen was chosen by the people, and was the first earthly, visible king they had ever had. Also like Saul Rozen quickly got a big head because of his power that had been giving by the people. His tyrannical tendencies were inspired by the books I am currently reading about Hitler and Stalin, and any other tyrannical ruler, really. The people, again, are varied in their beliefs now as well. There is only one language among them, but the other countries around them have their own languages as well, so they don't often mingle. They live in fear of their king, wondering what he'll do next. Once, they had attempted holding private church services (not too much unlike the ones held in ancient Rome during the persecution they went through), but that too became too dangerous as they were being caught and punished accordingly. The military of Rozen is made up of men who were taken from their homes, and forced to serve. Now they are too fearful to rebel, even if they do outnumber Rozen thousands to one. Men who had once been priests now serve Rozen in various evil ways. They perform much the same thing as the Egyptian, or Babylonian kings magicians did in their service; to consul with parlor tricks, and using demonic 'power'. While the children aren't the only ones in this story with gifts, the others don't dare to use theirs. The bad guy's also have their own gifts, but they don't use them for the advancement of Adonia's Kingdom. As an example: Reseph (pronounced Re-sheph) is the head commander of Rozens men, and as a leader has the gift of prophesy, or more accurately translated and the gift of carisma in this instance. Because of this gift, he is able to give any order he wants done, and will be ensured that it will be carried out, just because his men find no harm in what they are doing. If Reseph were to tell them to destroy a village for no apparent reason, he would eloquently explain that they were no longer needed, that they were an hindrance to the kingdom, and that there was no shame in taking the peoples lives because they were in all reality more like cattle, there to be used and then disposed of. There are other characters and things I would love to go into detail about, but I've already said allot so I'll leave that for another time. Thanks for looking! Promised
