Okay, I was not sure if this would be put under world building or not, so I put it here, but if it's not supost to be here, could someone who knows how to move a topic to a different section tell me how to do that or do it for me?
Eru asked me about the Vian Islands, so I decided to write a history of it up to the time of where my book takes place.
The Vian Islands.
I, Veanna, Princess of Illias, Queen of the Vian Islands, write this from Barak. I have fled my home, As it is being attacked by my people in Illias. It grieves me greatly to tell you that, After my Father's death, my brother, King of Illias, has banished me. After he heard that I had married Viaklin, and became Queen, he came with his army, in seek of the throne here in Vian. But we would not let him have our home. My people fought back against the people of my brother's kingdom. The home I had grown to love turned into a valley of blood. The Illias army fought us mercilessly, They not only slaughtered the men, but the women and...and they tortured the children and hung their corpses in the court yard. Oh, may that wicked, vile serpent burn an eternity in hell!. We sent the remaining women and children to our allies in the west. I cannot bare to tell you more at this moment. I shall write again once I have gathered my wits about me.
I sit here and dictate to one of my last living friends. I realize that I must have the history of the Vian Islands recorded, The original being only ashes. Many years back Viaklin's great-great-grandfather came to an unsettled Island with his wife and eight children, and four other families. Claiden and the other families built a settlement, and as more settlers came over from the south to these nameless Islands, the population grew in great numbers. After twenty years of growing and living without a ruler the people gathered together and elected a man to be their King. The man they chose was Vian, son of Claiden. After two years of ruling Vian married one of the local women, her name was Clara. King Vian and Queen Clara ruled for twelve years until Vian died. The people mourned the death of their beloved King greatly and in honour of their King they name the Islands, The Vian Islands. Clara passed the rule to her eldest son, Raklin. Raklin married a woman from the west, making the first alliance. Raklin ruled for forty years with his wife Mara, until he passed away. Their youngest (being the only male of their children) Claiden, inherited the throne. Claiden married a woman named Tressil from Barak. Claiden and Tressil had three children; Viaklin, Erland, and Tiana. After ruling twenty-seven years, Claiden passed on his throne to Viaklin, who married a princess who had been banished from Illias. Her name was Veanna. After my Father died I had been banished by my brother and I came here, where I married Viaklin. My brother, hearing that I was Queen, anted my throne and came after me to kill my husband and children, then me, which would cause him to become the only living heir. But he only got as far as killing many of my people, and my husband.... My eldest son, Erland, named after his uncle, shall not become king until sixteen, where I have decided to give up my throne. Fourteen years Erland shall be watched and protected from my brother. For now, I am the ruler of the Vian Islands. I sail back to my home tomorrow with Barakian soldiers to aid my people.
It has been twelve whole years since the history of the Vian Islands has been recorded. My brother lost The Battle for the King, But in every way possible he stopped the growth of the Vian Islands. One of those ways was by cutting us off from the world in a way. He did this by taking us off the maps of Terra, making it look like we are a small island with-out any population or means of resources, causing no one to want to live here. Very soon now my son, Erland, shall take over the throne.
My son was crowned today. I no longer rule my homeland. I hope and pray that this will cause my brother to stop persecuting my people.
Erland married a woman from Elkan, they had two children. Both Erland and and his wife, Bielle, were killed in a house fire, Although they managed to save their children. I, Veanna, was made the Queen of the Vian Islands once again until my grandson.
Those were the last words Queen Veanna recorded in the histories of Vian. She died four years later. Her grandson then took the throne and was advised by a close friend of Veanna's. Thirteen years after this Veanna's grandson, Saiden, married a woman from Zale, her name was Nora. King Saiden and Queen Nora are still alive and ruling the Vian Islands. May they live long and rule over our homeland with wisdom, and follow the will of our Father God. Long live the King of Vian.
