Whispers in the well beckoned him.

The lone warrior, undaunted, stood still.

Overwhelming odds proved to be worthless.

Mine are not that good:

They left the last one....drowning.

Fear dissipated from their bloody eyes.

He ran headlong into the fray.

The man wrote backwards, proving useless.

He was dead. They were not.

The knife slid across the wall.

"It is finished" he said dying.

Laughing breezes became mocking breezes instead. Hmmm... that one's weird.

Smiles return easily to young faces.

The blade trembled in the wall.

Imagination makes everything better - at first.

It hurts to fall off clouds.

Yay! More Hemingways! :D Keep 'em up, everyone!

A cold, bony hand silenced her.

One final arrow. This was it.

Empty hopes, worthless dreams. Total despair.

A voice called from the abyss.

The power of the six-word story lies in implication, doesn't it? Anyone who has mastered the art of showing shouldn't have a problem creating a good six-word story.

...

Plainly I'm not a master. Haha.

"Lovely, huh? Nobody else thinks so."

Nice. :P

They carried her into the fog.

The smell of death surrounded me.

Howling banshees were all around us.

The castle was littered with bones.

She married; but not in love...

Decieved by the one he loved.

Those could be interesting. :)

Let's try a few more...

Thick fog surrounded the undermanned expedition.

The book was full of secrets.

It wasn't supposed to be empty.

A staircase that ended inside itself.

The death of the last Infinity.

Wow..... 42 pages of six words stories..... Hmmm..... I'll try to add my own. probably won't be very good, I usually can't sum up what I want to say in even a short story.
Oh well, here's my go at it!

They kissed, sealing the true love.

Sappy, I know... like I said, I don't think six word stories are really my thing!

Oh, a snake pit. How nice.

Giant spiders swarmed the hapless soldiers.

The princess was surrounded by witches.

The skull laughed. Then it exploded.

I kinda like that last one...

The ancient creature had been unleashed.

Sick smiles and lying lips, everywhere.

The poison had become his lifeblood.

The horse had saved his life.

*rubs hands together*

The sorcerer's orb glowed orange anew.

The plant's feelers crept around him.

The creature's blood was like acid.

A life for a life... falling.

So let's see... Crush needs to write a fantasy epic, where every chapter features an event from one of his 6-word-stories. Good deal! :D

An icy tower, the sorcerer's home.

The village was infested, completely overrun.

His life for hers, complete sacrifice.

Dwarves, elves, humans - united for Jehovah.

A last rally for the orb.

A stone dagger, cold as ice.

A final battle to decide fate.

Heh, good point. :P It's actually a pretty...well, awesome idea...

Sui! Those. Were. Awesome. Keep up the good work!

Time to give it another shot (ever get the idea I like the Hemingway Challenge? ;) )...

The splattered blood was still fresh.

Even captive, God was with her.

She only thought she was alone.

A wizard's sword, a hero's bane.

The castle, cursed, the soldiers, dispersed.

The princess wasn't the only resident.

My brother was my worst enemy.

The ghouls had taken the city.

Whew! That was a lot. Not sure how good they were, but there they are. Enjoy! Keep 'em up, everyone, I thoroughly enjoy reading them. :D

*chuckles* As long as there's no truth in it. ;)

These are all so awesome, folks! You have raised the bar. *rubs hands together* Let's see...

His life was spared for another.

Her heart broke for wrong reasons.

Her hand held his only hope.

The game rules were easy: cheat.

It turned out winning wasn't everything.

Their chess game was costing lives.

The vial held life and death.

The crown was not of gold.

It was worth her dying smile.

The eyes blinked; death in sight.

The Light obliterated all her fears.

The truth had become a lie.

The liar told the truth.

The power was in his words.

Ink and tears dampened the page.

The story was far from over.

The darkness burnt out the light.

Blood, and an angry rubber duckie.

But the shadow was not anyone's...

An angry rubber ducky? :P Wow...

Alrighty...Let's see what we can come up with...

Dying would've been better than failing.

The friend had become a monster.

Deep in the mountains, he prayed.

The poisoned king grew more wicked.

Love, to hate, forgiveness, to bitterness.

The sands became a mighty army.

Not my best, I don't think, but there ya go!

Okay, here's the deal, folks! I need to write and publish a short story via Smashwords to test the process. Problem is, I don't have an unpublished short story. So. I need to write one.

Crush suggested I pick a Hemingway to expand, which was an epic idea on his part. Only, I don't have near enough time to go through the thread and there are SO many good sentences!

So. I need you to give me some suggestions! Which Hemingway should I use for a short story? Please note that by suggesting your own Hemingway, you're giving me permission to use it. :D

@Phili: Ahh! There are too many good ones...:P I'll try and nominate one, though...

These are new ones - not nominations...

The dice rolled, and heads followed.

The pain could not stop him.

One versus one hundred. No surrender.

The chains wouldn't hold it forever.

*eyes 43 pages* You ask us to suggest? ;)

Actually, unless Crush is going to do it, I'd suggest that chess one that Crush did. It has awesome potential. :D Also your 'president's orphaned daughter' would be a good one too.

I second the "president's orphaned daughter" one.
If you're looking for comedy you can do any of my Hemmingway's that have squirrels. :D
(actually, if you find any of mine that you want to expand on, feel free to go ahead)

I'd prefer none of mine be used...I'd like to try writing some of them myself. :P I'm honored one was nominated, though. :D

I'd like to, since Sui gave the green light, nominate one of his - this one.

The death of the last Infinity.

Keep up the awesome work, mate!

Now, for some more (I'll take any excuse I can get to write more :P)...

The blessing had become a curse.

His own family, his worst nightmare.

The barricade wouldn't last much longer.

A rusty sword - my only weapon.

The ancient helmet saved his life.

Voices in the mist, chilling, deathly.

I really like that one! And here are a few of my own...

The dagger slashed across his throat

She didn't want to leave home

One quest. One prize. One man.

He lay there, gasping for air.

"Last infinity"... I wonder what that means? Answering that question would make a story out of it, methinks. ;)

Thank you, guys! :D I'll let you know what comes of it.

Yay! :D

Let's try some more, eh?

The loathsome fiends just kept coming.

An impossible mission. I took it.

Shadowy horses and their riders, everywhere.

Me against a dragon. Complete insanity.
