Hello all you writers of stories…

I'm Darshaun Delaney….and I used to be a lot more creative than I am now. ;D Hahaha…actually, writing's never been a really easy thing for me. But I have started about 6 or so stories, though they were all awhile back.

There IS one I really want to pick up again (after reading Ted Dekker and reading about Lawhead and Perreti). It's a fantasy world with a medieval Japanese culture…not terribly original, but I thought it'd be fun to write. As soon as we finish moving, I'll dig up the manuscript-what I've written of it so far, that is-and then I'll have more things to post.

I'm 18, have 5 younger brothers, no sisters, and a music guy…I play and compose lots of music.

I hope to enjoy this forum.

Sounds like a cool story. I've used some elements of medieval Japan in my stories as well. Good to have more music men, I've been playing keyboards for eight or so years now and I love music. I'm also trying to pick up guitar and bass, haven't had any lessons though. Do people say you have a big family? I have five brothers and sisters as well and they are a blessing (although sometimes a difficult blessing if you know what I mean). I actually don't think I've read many fantasy stories that have a Japanese-influenced culture. Sounds neat!

I was born and grew up in Japan, so I heartily share in your love of the culture there. It's a magnificent place - although still full of darkness, too. But we can get into a deeper discussion on Japan later, if you'd like.
