Types of Leathings:
Leath-Nathair- half snake Leath-Taer- half wolf Leath-Iolair- half eagle Leath-Seabhac- half hawk, weaker brothers of Iolair Leath-Yumod- half bat Leath-Gabhar- half goat Leath-Tarbh- half bull Leath-Capall- half horse Leath-Orthu- half bear
Leathings are all part animal and part Human.
Descriptions Leath-Nathair: From the waist up they look like men except the head, which is the size of a human head but looking mostly like a snake's. In place of legs they have a serpent's body. They would be about 9 feet long depending on what kind of snake they are.
Leath-Taer: Taer have very hairy bodies. They can walk upright or on all fours, but they are sort of hunched when they are upright. Their legs are long like a man's but are in the shape of a canine's. Their arms are like a humans but a lot more hairy. Their hands are very hairy on top and they have short fingers with rough pads on the bottom. Their heads are wolf heads and they have large shoulders and a line of thick fur running down the middle of their backs.
Leath-Iolair: Iolair look mostly like humans but their heads have feathers instead of hair and beaks instead of mouths. Their hands are talons. Their feet are talons – though much less nimble than the hands. And their legs are knee-down hairless and featherless being like a bird's legs, and from knee up bushy feathers.
Leath-Seabhac: They look basically like Iolair, except they are smaller and weaker.
Leath-Yumod: Yumod are the darkest and most prone to be evil of all the Leathings. They look very close to humans in body but they have bat heads, their arms are wings with small talon-like hands at the ends. Their legs are human shaped and they have human shaped feet except they have claws at the ends of their toes.
Leath-Gabhar: Gabhar have a very goat-like face with short hair (usually white, brown and rarely grey or black) covering their bodies. The males have long curled ram horns that can grow to be up to three feet in length, and the females have short horns only four-six inches long. They have human sized goat shaped legs with hooves instead of feet. They have human shaped and sized arms. Their hands are a sort of hoof with part of the inside hollowed out (naturally) with a hand on the inside so they can use weapons or anything that requires hands but when their hands are curled into a fist they can run on all fours like a goat.
Leath-Tarbh: Leath-Tarbh males have the head of a bull with curved horns that grow up to two feet long. They have wide chests and broad shoulders. They have human shaped arms with hands and legs like a Leath-Gabhar.
Leath-Capall: Leath-Capall are from the waist up the appearance of a Human and from the waist down the body of a horse, having in place of the horse's neck and head a human's body. They have slightly larger teeth than humans do, and they have a line of thicker longer hair starting on the back of their heads going down the spine until their shoulder blades.
Leath-Orthu: Leath-Orthu are large and have furry bodies. Their legs are fairly short and have paws. They have a large torso and short arms. Their arms and hands are like that of a Leath-Taer. They have the head of a bear.
Fighting style:
Leath-Nathair Move swiftly and generally travel low to the ground. Most of them prefer one or two medium to small sized blades such as knives, daggers, dirks or short swords. They almost always poison their blades to some degree. In hand to hand combat they bite with venom, usually to the neck. They can also wrap their snake part around the victim crushing him.
Leath-Taer run in semi-crouched positions and usually use axes, maces, flails, ball and chain flails, spiked clubs and maces. In hand to hand combat they run on all fours usually jumping to bite the neck and claw the victim.
Leath-Iolair fly and so their fighting style is much different than any of the others except Leath-Seabhac. They generally use bows, crossbows, longbows, or javelins. In melee combat they use short swords. In unarmed combat they fly out of range from their enemy and then swoop down and claw them with their hands or feet, however they can also peck with their beaks.
Leath-Seabhac use the same weapons and fight the same way as Iolair.
Leath-Yumod fight primarily hand to hand using their fangs to bite the enemy and claws as they fly by. They carry weapons such as scythes, glaives, halberds, pikes (rare) and tridents for when they land and fight melee. They have also devised a way of fighting where two Yumod wear a double harness around their chests so one can fly and the other can use his weapon.
Leath-Gabhar use mostly staffs and spears for melee, and slings for ranged combat. When fighting hand to hand they ram their horns into the enemy and can also kick and punch very hard with their hooves.
Leath-Tarbh use only two handed weapons: axes and clubs (a small tree would work). In melee combat they punch with hooves, kick, toss and throw, and can charge and hit enemies with their horns.
Leath-Capall carry a number of weapons on them while in battle, they could carry up to six swords while in battle, or they could have a broadsword, a couple short swords on their human back and a bow, etc. In hand to hand combat they punch, kick and flail their hooves in the enemy’s face.
Leath-Orthu use only hand to hand weapons, e.g. Their claws, teeth and massive body weight.
Armour:
Leath-Nathair use scale armour in battle wearing only the shirt, as it would be impractical to use it on their snake portion. They don't wear helmets. Their scabbards are on their backs seeing as if they wear waist scabbards they would always be dragging on the ground.
Leath-Taer wear hard leather sleeveless armour with metal discs on it and short chain mail leggings down to their knees. Taer also don't wear helmets. They carry their one hand weapons in leather loops off of their belts, their two hand weapons are carried in wood and leather cases on their backs.
Leath-Iolair wear a chain mail shirt and leather over top as well as vambraces on their forearms. They usually carry a longbow on their back in between their wings with a quiver. And a crossbow on their waist with another quiver of bolts for the crossbow on the other side.
Leath-Seabhac use their equipment the same way and wear the same armour as Iolair.
Leath-Yumod wear only a mail shirt and short leggings. They carry their weapons on their backs.
Leath-Gabhar wear leather and mail. They carry staffs and spears on their backs and have the slings as an extra loop on their belts.
Leath-Tarbh generally go bare chested and wear just a kilt or shorts of leather or mail.
Leath-Capall wear plate mail armour.
Leath-Orthu wear a hardened leather sleeveless shirt like a Leath-Taer's
Skills and weaknesses:
Leath-Nathair are masters of moving swiftly and almost silently low to the ground. They can move faster as the climate gets warmer, as the climate gets colder they move slower and slower until their blood is no longer moving. Also their eyesight is not very good and they rely mostly on their smell and they smell with their tongue.
Leath-Taer can move quickly and quietly (though not as quietly as Nathair) while on all fours. Once a Taer decides someone is his friend he will have a very hard time breaking his loyalty to that person, even if the person betrays him.
Leath-Iolair fly and can see extremely far. Their bones are easy to break as they are hollow like a birds.
Leath-Seabhac are the same as Iolair.
Leath-Yumod have poor eyesight but can detect objects and living things with a form of sonar that allows them to see in their minds where things are and what their shape is. However the clicking sound they make to detect stuff can give them away when trying to remain in stealth.
Leath-Gabhar can climb cliffs and rocky areas very easily. Leath-Gabhar can be easily poisoned as they find it hard to resist anything that resembles food.
Leath-Tarbh are immensely strong and are prone to anger quicker than the other Leathings.
Leath-Capall can run very fast but have difficulty moving through any dense or heavily forested areas.
Leath-Orthu are very strong like a Leath-Tarbh and have a very good sense of smell, so they could be easily overpowered by anything strong smelling.
Eating habits:
Leath-Nathair are primarily carnivores but can eat fruit, vegetables and plants when necessary.
Leath-Taer are carnivores and have a dislike of any non-meat food (if it can be called that) but can eat it with difficulty.
Leath-Iolair are mostly carnivorous but can eat plants.
Leath-Seabhac are the same as Iolair.
Leath-Yumod prefer to drink blood, but will occasionally eat meat.
Leath-Gabhar prefer vegetables to other things but will eat almost anything.
Leath-Tarbh eat only grasses and plants.
Leath-Capall are omnivorous.
Leath-Orthu are omnivorous.

Leath-Nathair wear shirts, can wear gloves.
Leath-Taer wear shirts and knee length pants.
Leath-Iolair wear shirts.
Leath-Seabhac wear the same stuff as Iolair.
Leath-Yumod wear knee length pants and sometimes shirts.
Leath-Gabhar wear shirts and pants.
Leath-Tarbh wear kilts or short pants.
Leath-Capall wear shirts.
Leath-Orthu wear shirts and sometimes pants.
Social Structure: Leathings are of one nation being the nation of Leathing. They are then divided into tribes of “species”, Leath-Nathair, Leath-Taer, Leath-Capall, etc. Then there are clans, which are sub-tribes, clans are based on the “breed” of the Leathing.

The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it." "What Gandalf? see what?" "White shores..and beyond. A far green country under a swift sunrise." "Well...that isn't so bad." "No. No, it isn't." -Gandalf and Pippen
"No, Sam. I can't recall the taste of food, nor the sound of water, nor the touch of grass. There's nothing. No veil between me and the wheel of fire. I can see him...with my waking eyes!" "Then let us be rid of it, once and for all. Come on Mr. Frodo. I can't carry it for you...but I can carry you! Come on! -Frodo and Sam
A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break the bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. This day we fight! Stand, men of the West!...For Frodo. -Aragorn
