Hey, I'm Xander. I'm new here, so I'll post my introduction. :)

I found out about this site when someone on ywp.nanowrimo.org (Elly) suggested that I join Holy Worlds. I've been thinking about doing some kind of fantasty-ish allegory for my NaNo Novel this year, but I'm horrible at coming up with ideas, so I thought this would be a good place to come. Last year, my NaNoWriMo novel started out Sci-Fi and ended up Fantasy, and I've also written and edited a Mainstream Fiction-ish novel this past month. I'm really excited to get involved in the community here at Holy Worlds.

In real life, I own a pet bearded dragon (actually... I don't, but I wish I did). I play the piano (actually... I improvise more: it's hard for me to just look at a song and play it exactly how it's written). I also enjoy giving weird nicknames to everyone I know (MWAHAHAHAHA). I look forward to getting to know you!

Hello, Xander; welcome to Holy Worlds!

It would be great to see some of your writings! Please do share them with us. I hope we can help you with some of your ideas. :)

Ooh, what is my nickname gonna be? ;)

Hello Xander! I can't wait to see what nickname I get! I'm sure it'll have nothing to do with walruses or pickles!

Welcome man!
I'm a fan!
Because for your name!
you deserve fame!
Because anyone but a fool...
Would know that your name is cool!

Svensteel priest of Kylor: I dub thee, "Sir Walrus of Pickleburg." And wonderful poem, by the way. :)

Jonathan Garner: What kind of other animals do you like? Oh, and I dub thee, "Ginkgo."

Lady Elanor: I dub thee, "Food Processor." :dieshappy: Because aren't food processors awesome?

Nice. I can see you are already hard at work with those names. Welcome to Holy Worlds. I cannot wait to see what you have been up to writing wise.

I love music and have been playing the Piano for a long time. I share you ideas because it almost always sounds better the way I want it it to sound right? :dieshappy:
I know you will love it here. God bless!

Welcome welcome, sir! :D

Miss Elly draws a lot of Nanoers to HW. :D She's getting good at it.

So, what are you writing, Xander? I assume you will be participating in Nano this year. Be sure to check out the Nano threads that get started around here.

What inspired you to start writing, and what is your favorite genre?

Hi, Xander, and welcome to Holy Worlds. Just so you know, your username means "great" in the language of my fantasy world... so it was well chosen :)
Getting ideas is what HW is all about, I hope you find good ones.

Xander, welcome to Holy Worlds!

Hopefully we'll be able to help you out with any writing, plot, and storyline questions you have. We're good at brainstorming around here. ;)

You should be excited to get involved with the community here! They're a lot of fun! :D

My brother (Caldera) can't read notes well on piano, but boy can he play well by ear! He also loves watching Youtube tutorials on how to play certain songs.

I play guitar better than piano. I've gotten rusty on playing both though. :P

If there were actually pet bearded dragons and you had one, that would be amazing. However, I find the next best thing is a furry cat who loves sitting in my lap being scratched. :D In reality, what are your favorite animals?

That is an amazing talent being able to play piano improv like that! I cannot do that at all. I've tried! I'm much better at reading notes. :P

Well, once again I say welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay here at HW! :D

Welcome, Xander! You came to the right place if you're looking for brainstorming assistance. :D Take a cupcake and make yourself at home! We look forward to hearing more from you. :D

Be careful with those nicknames. Nicknames tend to stick around here.

Hmmmm... that's a tough question. When I first found out about NaNo, the challenge of writing a novel in 30 days sounded very appealing to me, so I guess you could say that NaNo is what prompted me to start. As for my favorite genre, I would probably have to say fantasy or science fiction.

Hey BushMaid! I remember seeing you on NaNo before you left. My username first was "Abp3," but I changed it to "xander_was_here." You're still famous over there. :D

:0 I had no idea. That's really awesome that you made a language for your world! I've thought about doing that before, but it always seemed like too much work. Did you come up with a word in your language for every word in the English language?

Hmmmm..... furry cats are extremely epic. Except I'm allergic to them. :( But if I wasn't, I would have a pet cat for sure. I like reptiles in general, especially lizards. *tries to insert a smiley here, but can't because he's already used 7 in his post*

Ah yes. :) I compiled all of the letters to Busheh that other YWP members sent me. There were poems and letters. . . I e-mailed them all to BushMaid. That was a long e-mail. :D

No, only about 100 words, but you actually don't need a lot more if you just use clever compound words. Xanlua means ocean, which is really just "great + water." Check out the Scriptorium for language discussions, there are tons in there. My sub-forum (see link in my siggie) has some discussions of languages for my worlds as well.

Yeah, that Aussie was a trouble maker on Nano, as I hear. ;)

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)

Well, they were there and saw it, and I was not and did not... However, if what we have seen of you here is any indication, you are nice and peaceful. :)

Maybe I've changed since then. I used to get very passionately involved in theological debates, Sven. I got in trouble for it many times, and I was probably getting close to being expelled from the site.

On the other side, I made signatures and book covers for people. That's all. :)

*smiles and steps in because she does not like disparaging *

I have a speech to make.

My beloved Aussie may have been a troublemaker, as I said, but she was a troublemaker in the best sense of the word. You see, Aussie was passionate about Christ, and fought to speak truth into the lives of those who lived in darkness.

I would like to point out that Aussie is one of the humblest people I know, and that she is also a teachable spirit. Do you know how refreshing that is? Aussie will bring things she has been reading or thinking about, listens to what others tell her, and goes to research what is being said. I have never once seen her say “Well that’s what I believe; I don’t care what you think, so there! *stomps foot*”. She has always listened, and been willing to learn.

So any trouble that occurred off of HW, I am positive, was because of the other people involved, and not because of my most beloved Australian mate. :D

*gets off her soap box *

I haven't known Aussie too long but what I have seen of her was 100% beauty of the soul. God bless you for sharing the truth!

 I would not reply to this - out of sheer speechlessness and undeservedness - if it were not rude to do so. I am so humbled and moved by your words, Airianna. Thankyou, and thankyou Sven and Jonathan. It is only because of God's grace that I am this way; I pray I never disappoint you all.

I could get on my own soapbox and write forever on how amazingly blessed I have been by the friends I've made here. You are so wonderful! Thankyou so much for all you are to me, precious brothers and sisters in the Lord. :)
