Monta Tervedhis, ie tahlen elleama vel selen silen loestel!

This will be my first attempt at writing down an entire description for several of my races, especially the Kudaren, who (until now hopefully) have remained in my brain... That being said, I will try to keep this post under 5,000,000 words... ;).

Elves
The elves are the oldest of the races of Vitarentel (the continent of my books). They were originally angels, but they were sent down to Earth to protect Vitaren's creation from the evil Moren (the Dark One), though some of the elves have lost sight of their original purpose. Though they are in a lesser form than the angels who remained in heaven, they are still extremely hard to kill and live forever unless smitten with a weapon or a deadly disease (there is only one disease that actually effects the elves). Their bodies appear exactly like humans, except for a more slender build and pointed ears. They are extremely strong, have super fast reflexes, and are masters of the sword and bow, though they prefer farming, herding, the study of languages, and science. Between the two halves of their brain there is an organ that triggers a state of mind known to the elves as Illnorean (the speed), in which the elf is moving so fast that all else (except for another elf) is moving in slow motion. When an elf dies, they can either choose to die (their soul goes to a "holding tank" until the final battle against Moren), or they can transform back into their heavenly form and return directly to the throne of Vitaren.

Kudaren (hopefully this section will be shorter)
These are the most powerful of Moren's "creations" (mockeries of that which Vitaren made). They are seven to eight feet tall, have a blackish grey skin, and are almost immune to pain. They will not enter my series until the third book, in which they will defeat an elvish army, killing the king and crown prince of the elves. They wear thick armor, and wield a sword in one hand, and a claw-shield in the other. Kudaren were originally angels, who willingly joined Moren in his rebellion against Vitaren. After Moren was thrown from heaven he turned on the angels, and now they are hideous, horrible beings, literally without mercy, or a soul.

Goblins
Goblins are the weakest race in Vitarentel. They are bred to fight, kill, torture, and destroy Vitaren's creation. They were originally subject to Moren's will and his only, but somehow the vast majority of them slipped out, and many of the goblins started their own kingdoms. The goblins were originally elves, who joined Moren after hearing of riches and fame and glory, but were met by a painful surprise.

Trolls
There are actually three different species of trolls, the Hill or Mountain Trolls, the Great Trolls, and the Snow-Trolls.

Mountain Trolls: depending on where they live, their names are different, but hill and mountain trolls are the same thing. They are the stupidest race in Vitarentel, but also one of the strongest. They generally stand about ten to fifteen feet tall, have long arms, short legs (relative to their body size, not to humans) and have huge, barrel chests. They generally live in in caves or tunnels stolen from the dwarves (Large amounts of bones usually line troll caves...). Again, they are extremely stupid, are near sighted, but have a keen sense of smell.
Great Trolls: One of the two races who can actually survive the frigid temperatures in the Frozen Waste, they are essentially the same as hill trolls, but they are taller (between twenty and thirty feet tall) and have pitch-black skin. They are extremely cunning, and have good eye-sight. Luckily for us, they usually stay in the Frozen Waste and fight with the Snow Trolls over food and territory.
Snow Trolls: This race of trolls is exactly like the hill trolls, except that they are slightly stronger and smarter, have slightly better vision, and white fur.

Whew, congratulations on reading this whole post, I hope I did not bore you... Any suggestions for improvement?

The Snow Troll idea is awesome. :)

How do the Mountain Trolls interact with the other two types of trolls?

Um, there is only one Great Troll south of the Frozen Waste (he became the king of the mountain trolls), so that is really the only contact they've had with the other trolls. As far as communication, all three breeds of tolls do speak the Common Tongue, though the Mountain Trolls have only learned the basics, and are very poor speakers...

Can you give approximate populations? They all sound very good and I especially like the Kudaren.

This sounds great! I especially like the Elves and Kudaren. Why did some angels turn on Vitaren? Was there any specific reason? Were they decieved, did Moren promise them limitless power, or was there some other deciding factor?
This looks like the start of an awesome story. ;)

@ Griffin, Um, I need to calculate out different populations so I don't overpopulate my world... :D I'm a little behind on that. The only ones I really have a definite number for are the goblins and trolls. These numbers are during the first book in my series, and are for male and female, Kudaren: 3,000; goblins: 5-6,000,000; trolls: 250,000.

@ Kalisia, well, I haven't really compiled that story yet, I'm thinking about writing a parallel book or series (I have five or six of them though...) called the Fall of Moren (working title) in which I go over that story. However, I can say that yes, the angels were deceived somehow...

Thanks for the comments everyone, keep 'em coming!

Trolls are definitely a creation of Moren... And no, the goblins can not be redeemed.

Since elves are originally angels, goblins are in essence angels that rebelled: demons. Since they were originally in the glory of Vitaren, and know first hand his great power and glory, therefore they are held more accountable than humans or dwarves...

Ok, that is a good take on it!

(don't mind me; having a nonredeemable ugly race in stories is one of my pet peeves so sometimes I just shoot off.)

Not a problem, I hadn't really thought about that before. You made me think about changing it just now, and that is one of the major reasons I joined this forum, so people could get me to think about what I do in my books.
