Oakut tree ~ This tree can live for hundreds of years, and is tough enough to survive harsh forest fires. Its wood is extremely hard, and is nearly impossible to chop, once the tree is mature. Its leaves grow to a length of twelve inches, and contain immense healing qualities. Its fruit are oval in shape, and encased in a thick rind, but are delicious and extremely wholesome.

The Oakut tree leaves are mostly used on severe wounds, as they help the body speed up the healing process, and boost the system. They are perfectly natural, and there is no magic about them.

Sardonian ~ A plant the leaves of which are valuable for medical purposes. They are good for causing the blood to coagulate sooner, thus stopping a stubbornly bleeding wound, and are also used to soothe the wound.

I gave this post its own thread so everyone else can see these wonderful plants as well.

I love the Oakut trees, those sound very handy to have around. And the fact that they're fire resistant is such a blessing for forest dwellers.

Plus, I just love humongous trees that have ten-foot diameter trunks!

The sardonian plants are extremely useful, too. They are especially used for deep wounds that continue bleeding for long periods of time.

Typical sardonian plants grow up to four feet tall, and they flourish on the banks of streams and rivers. Their leaves are four to five inches long when fully mature, and give off a spicy smell, like cinnamon or ginger. Gardeners grow sardonian as a natural part of their job, because of their usefulness in the absence of a skilled physician.

Summer Ice - A low bush-like plant that produces light blue flowers all summer long. The flowers smell cold (if you take my meaning ), and soothe burns and wounds, thus earning their name. They are extremely unwholesome to take internally, however, and are used in the form of cold poultices.

Haven't you ever noticed when the air smells cold?

Is there a particular climate/region these plants are found in, or do they grow all over the world?


And I think I might understand what you mean by the flowers smelling cold. I'm not sure, though. They sound pretty awesome, though.

Elohoman ~ This is a large, hardy plant which easily grows to 6' in height and produces giant, dinner-plate-sized flowers the color of the sky on a clear, beautiful day. The flowers give off an overpoweringly beautiful smell, and are used by the more developed countries in perfume-making. It has no healing powers, and is just for beauty.

Suath Haman is very pretty. The name itself feels smooth when you say it. It certainly describes the plant!

It's fun to create new plants. It's almost as fun to name them!

Thosklorian - A dark, scratchy plant, that has almost red leaves, and is covered in tiny spines. When brushed against, thousands of spines lodge in the skin, and irritate it, causing an itchy, red rash, and swelling around the eyes. The only way to cure the rash is to apply Suath Haman to the rash, and eat a leaf of the Malborian plant.

Malborian - A short plant that grows no taller than one foot high, which bears purple leaves streaked with green. If one takes a leaf and crushes it, a sharp smell is released, which helps prevent nausea and headaches. If swallowed, it flushes all poison out of the system, and neutralizes it.

The thosklorian plant reminds me of devil's club (I think that's the right name). It's a real life plant with little spines. But I think they just hurt you and don't poison you.

Are these plants easy to recognize and identify? Do you have any plants that have "lookalikes" that are poisonous/just not helpful?

I love the Malborian: I would definitely keep that plant on hand.

They do have lookalikes. For example, the sardonian plant has a similar appearance to a weed called Tevna Lojor, which basically means "Terrible Heat". It is so named because it contains a poison which causes your body to feel as if it is on fire. If you do not quickly swallow a leaf of the malborian, you will fall into a fever, and soon die.

Amasol - A purple-green plant which produces pleasant-smelling leaves and red flowers. It is tangy to the taste, but also slightly sweet, and dispels unpleasant moods.

Parsenig Tree - A relatively short tree when compared to the Oakut Tree, the Parsenig Tree tends to bush out when chopped down. As you might guess, it is extremely difficult to kill the tree completely. It produces a black berry (called a Parsenig), which, although useless as a medicine, is extremely delicious. It is often used in pies and pastries.

Ranouog Bush - Before I get into the description, I had better explain something. Rano means arrow, and ugoda means producing. So, the Ranouog Bush is an arrow-producing bush. You may ask how? Well, the bush is armed with long spikes on every branch, spikes which are not only 1 1/2 to 2 feet long, but extremely difficult to break. They are tough, yet light, and are cultivated in order to produce massive amounts of arrows with little effort. The Ranouog grows wild on the banks of rivers, and often produces impenetrable thickets where rabbits and small animals make their home in the safety of an unused armory.
