These creatures are still a work in progress but they are creatures that form from the smoke of fires. They are strong, fast and swift, and able to move from smoke to solid form.

What colour are they? Do they transform within seconds? Can they transform back at any time? They sound pretty cool, I am looking forward to hearing more about them.

They are grey and ash like in tone of skin. They can pass between solid and smoke form at will and it is within seconds. Their main weapon in their claws and teeth.

Can they form from just any ol' fire, providing that it is producing a good amount of smoke? Is there a limit on their numbers? And how do you kill one of these things? :shock: They definitely sound like a creature that I wouldn't care to meet. ;)

Very interesting concept, Colton, and I, too, look forward to hearing more about them! :D

I reiterate Amanda's comments... why exactly do they form? Are they personal creatures with self-will or spontaneously generating animals of destruction? If they are personal, from whence comes their personality?

And are they sapient? Are they evil or good?

About what size are they? Or does their size/shape have any boundaries? {For example, can they get as big as a house? As small as a mouse? Roughly bear-shaped? Roughly humanoid?}

They can form from any fire. Any kind of smoke can produce them, but if like a small camp fire is made maybe one at time can be made. But if a forest is ablaze, hundreds can come from it. To kill one you cut the head off when it is in solid form, or put out the fire.

Oh yea, these things are nasty hunters. Their main purpose is to kill.

So do they die if you put out the fire they started from?

Yikes. Remind me never to start a fire if I come to visit your world. :shock:

Yes they suffocate if the fire is put out.

I actually want to make a correction on my last post. These creatures are not just randomly made from any fire. A group of arsonists hold the secret to these demons. The fire they light brings these beasts out.

Let me see if I have this right. If the sorcerers lit a fire, the demon-thingy could come out and go do whatever he wanted, even journey many miles away, but the instant the fire is put out he starts to suffocate.

Hummm something in there sounds wrong, like it wouldn't work....

Please understand everyone. This creature is not totally in a finished state, very unfinished state.... I'll be taking any kinda advice from anyone who could help. The way that I can see the most reasonable way to kill them is to cut their head off. I mean smoke still lingers once the fire is put out.

But the smoke doesn't linger long. But it's fine whatever you want. Of course, if sorcerers set up a headquarters with a bunch of fires always kept going (perhaps slave labor) there's no problem.
