I read his "A Christmas Carol," and remember finding it mildly interesting, but mostly boring, when I was younger. But I love his stuff now. I'm currently reading "Little Dorrit," which, so far, is very good. I'm only at the very beginning though.
His plots are expertly made, with plot twists galore. (Or, so I've been told. I really haven't read enough of his works to say that solely from my own experience.

) His characters are well thought out and come alive right off the page. His style is smooth and easy to follow, and his descriptions give you a clear picture of what he's trying to say. Though, some of his narrative goes on, and on, which I personally like, but I imagine some people would find it dull.
