Google [Bot]

If you scroll down to the Who's online box at the bottom of the index page, there's the name Google [Bot] on that's a very light pink color. It's kind of discreet. Easier to see when you highlight it. What's it for? Am I missing something obvious here?

The Google[Bot] is a sort of robot that scans the website for any viruses.

Don't ask me how because I don't know. That's more of the higher up peoples department. :roll:

It actually doesn't scan the site for viruses (at least not this type of bot - there are different kinds for different purposes). Its presence there is just letting us know that Google is looking at the site. It makes it easier for people on searching for us to find us through Google.

I thought that was what it was... but it makes me wonder what people are searching for when I read "Google [bot]: reading article in the Birthday Celebration".

It's kind of creepy when there's a glitch (at least I hope it's a glitch :shock:

) and it says "Google [bot] viewing private messages" or "Google [bot] viewing The Fireside".

I'm pretty sure Google [bot] isn't on the member list.

We have had many conversations with the Google [Bot] in the chatroom... he gives Smeagol and Gollum the shivers because he always seems to know where we are...

You should send a bunch of PMs (not to Bots) when you're on alone, and then you can do all your replying the next day when you're lonely, etc...
