Do you keep a journal or diary that you write in every day? Do you keep a blog journal, or is it really for your eyes only?

How long have you kept one for (if you have), and are you pretty consistent about keeping it up?

I've been keeping a journal/s irregularly since I first could write, a couple of years when I was about 18-20 I kept three or four journals consistently, writing every day. Since then however I write whenever my head gets too full of events/feelings, and I need to write. It may sound strange, but I visualize my journals as though someone else were to read them, and I'm telling the story of my life, my walk with the Lord, my struggles, my joys, etc. So the things that don't matter so much (ie. day to day stuff) doesn't get included as much as major events, or things God is teaching me, or my relationship with others. I have three journals written in this way, and I have finished each one exactly a year from the day I started them. I'm working on my fourth one at the moment. They act as a summary of my year, and all the things I learnt and the ways I grew. :)

Unless I'm sharing specific parts of my journal with someone in order to encourage/help them, I don't share my personal writings with anyone. Maybe someday though, they'll all be read.

I keep travel journals. XD Whenever I go on a trip I bring along an un-lined sketchbook and use it as a smash-pad. I write, doodle, scrapbook my days away with utter nonsense and almost illegibility. That's the best I've ever been at keeping a habit of a journal.

Otherwise, I keep one notebook in my bag and on my person at all times. I write everything from church notes and my work schedule for the week, to songs I heard on the radio to look up and story ideas and snatches of dialogue. I keep a journal by my bed for the same reason.

As for personal life outside of writing and vacations, I have two journals which I haven't opened since... months ago. One is for every day stuff, and the other one is supposed to be for what Scriptures I've read, my thoughts on them, and my struggles. When I'm fighting doubts or depression, I scrawl it in there.

So I definitely don't have a healthy habit of regular journaling, but I've made the effort in various ways. XD

I have never been able to keep a journal for more than a few days at a time.

I've been keeping a personal journal since grammar and my mom told me to. :D I don't write in it every day but I do make a point to do so a couple times each week.

My dad has had us keep a "Bible journal" since around six years ago. All of the children capable will read our Bibles individually and write in our Bible journals our thoughts around what we've read. This I use daily. :)

I do keep a journal, though it is not very consistent, I'm sorry to say. I mostly write in it when my heart becomes too full that I need to spill it's contents onto paper... it's a mixture of a lot of things, day-to-day, heart struggles, my spiritual walk, relationships, etc.
Journals are a great way to see how one has grown over time. I would recommend doing so, even if you don't do every-day entries, it is encouraging to look back, and see from what you've come, in your better perspectives, attitude, and spiritual growth, because sometimes, well, a lot of the time, we don't see the change that takes place as we grow. :)

That doesn't sound strange at all. I'm the same way. :)

I keep...three journals, I guess. I have one for prayers when I just need to write it all out. I do that a lot if I feel like I will someday need to look back on it for some reason or other. I also have a journal-ish-not-really where I write truths that I need to remember in order to keep my sanity. Sometimes they're verses, sometimes they're something someone else told me, and sometimes they're just my own "duh" moments. I don't write in it very frequently. Then I have my mishmash journal. It holds all the random ponders and word-definitions and learnings (many of which transfer in some form or other to my blog eventually) as well as ditties and rhymes and scribbles and story developments and basically anything else I need to write down. I've kept it going since mid to late 2012, and write in it frequently but not every day. It depends on if I have anything worth writing down. Day-to-day happenings rarely ever make it into writing, unless they're my thoughts on what happened.
