Little history if you want: Yalvan grew up in Eínd and married his sweetheart (Vaendr) when he was twenty-two and had his only daughter after two years. He moved to Karkil after his Eínire business partner framed Yalvan. Before he left for Karkil his last project was for Dajîl’s landmark, Fountain Glory.

They lived in Karkil for only a few months before a storm brew from the sea. The island that was hit that hardest, and sank after, was where Yalvan’s family was. Vaendr died in the storm surge, while Kirna (their daughter) survived with ten other survivors; Yalvan was in Dajîl doing business when the storm hit.

His old Eínire partner came at him again when he moved to another Karkila island. When he went to Dajîl he couldn’t find a job offer, so he joined an international group, the Deck of Cards. He built them buildings, some technology and weapons. At first he was only the mechanic, when they recruited him in making small pickpocketing jobs, then heist and the biggest, King Férnàs’s crown jewels.

A trap was laid by Hefard and Rhins for Yalvan, and couldn’t go anywhere near the crown. Hefard sent Yalvan to jail never to see a human face again. Though Rhins visited him, and Yalvan told Rhins his whole story; Rhins called for a court meeting and Yalvan was found innocent (for his Eínire crimes, not the others).

Rhins paid the rest of the debts of Yalvan, who was so grateful he even asked to be Rhins’s servant. Yalvan after that became close to Rhins (who took Kirna on some of his adventures) and the other two that they were known as the four ‘Masterminds’.

Yalvan is the only child of Vlorm and Mavisen, he studied in a local Eínire school, where he learned architecture (one of his jobs) and engineering.

He married Vaendr who was his neighbor, and sweetheart, he courted her for one and a half years before they were married.

Yalvan is wise/intelligent with decision making (since he has made many mistakes already), loyal to those who befriend him, and helpful in anyway he can be. Responsibility is his strongest trait, because Rhins was his idol he made sure he would please the man he owed his life too.

Because of his latest job, Yalvan doesn’t talk to many people, except for Kirna. Failure is his strongest fear because of his past wrongdoings. Yalvan has a small drinking problem, because of his old friends in his past, he’s still trying to get over it.

Yalvan doesn’t trust anyone, not unless they trust him first, he’s caring if to those who know him, specially to his daughter.

How old is Kirna? Is she old enough that her getting married is a concern to him? What does he think about the idea of her getting married? Or is she already married?

What was the biggest thing that changed about him when his wife died?

Does he feel that Rhins respects him?

What does he believe would be Rhins' reaction if he fails and goes back into wrongdoing, like he's afraid of doing?

Yes.

Yalvan actually wants her to get married, though he can't find her a suitable husband.

No.

He cut himself off from the world, and that became quite a habit.

Mad. Really mad. Though that was before Rhins died, and now he does it out of full respect.

What kind of job does Yalvan have?

How do you pronounce his name?

Does he have any other children besides his daughter? If not, why?

He takes all information of Avargan (the city he lives in), puts it in records; like how many citizens are migrating to the capital, those sort of stuff as well as figuring out different types of groups, whether good or bad. It might seem a lot, but he since he has access to the whole of Avargan, it is easy for him. He isn't the leader of Avargan, but more of the Avarganian accountant.

YAL-van, with a small 'h' between A & L. (well the H comes out anyway)

No, Kirna is his only daughter. Vaendr was actually about to give birth to their first son, but she died in the tsunami.
