Hear ye hear ye...

Have any of you seen Iron Man? Either of the three? Well, I didn't see any thread with this in it, so I decided to make one.

I have watched 1, 2, & 3 (yes 3 it came out early where we live) story line is cool. Cool effects, the armor and stuff.

I personally like Marvel (More than DC), and its heroes, the X-Men, the Avengers.

And are any of you planning to watch Iron Man 3?

I have seen one and two. I preferred one to two, to be honest. I may go and see three in the cinemas, it's out at the moment; but I can't decide whether to just wait for it to come out on DVD. :)

Spoilers, man! Now I know the storyline, armor, and effects are cool. ;)

I love the Iron Man movies. I still like 1 over 2 but both are great. I can't wait for 3 to come out.

What country's already got it? the UK?

I'm jealous of wherever you are.

I'm trying to get a group of my theatre kids to go out and see it soon... it doesn't come out until May 3 here. But I'm totally stoked. I love the characters and the story.

First of all, Mopa, I believe that all Marvel Cinematic Universe movies go under "The Avengers", viewtopic.php?f=153&t=5993, but that's okay.

I enjoyed the first movie, thought the second was okay, and find the 3rd (From the trailers, clips, featurettes, and such) to be epic.

I believe that if they don't get a fourth movie, it'll have feel wasted. Let me explain.

Movie franchises: Your first movie is usually the set-up/beginning/finding-your-footing one. The second one is where you have a lot of potential. Iron Man 2 pretty much blew it there. They had a good storyline (For the most part) and excellent special effects, but the lines were iffy.

In my opinion, Iron Man 3 looks like it'll finally explore the full potential of the Iron Man franchise. (Not full potential, but it'll show us more than Iron Man 2 did)

Balec, Thor has its own topic...

:0 Oh, man, you guys got to see it early?? Not. Fair. I am so eager for it! I loved 1 and 2, though I thought 2 was better. I'm hoping for a better villain this time.

Point conceded.

And to answer your question, I am 80-90% sure the Mandarin will be a better villain than Ivan Vanko.

Iron Man 1 and 2 are considered to be a single Phase 1 (which they call the first movie, where you get to know how they came to be heroes. But in Iron there are 2 movies in one Phase). But the rest like Thor, Captain a, they have only one movie on Phase.

I was going to take my sister to see it this week, but we've been so busy with different things that it hasn't been possible. I know we won't be able to go tomorrow, so maybe we'll make it next week sometime.

*Reads review* Hmm, not sure what to make of it. I've only heard good reviews of it from my friends up to now, so I guess I'll just have to decide when I finally view it.

Who could possibly be a better villain than Sam Rockwell :dieshappy:

Although I think 1 was leagues better than 2 overall...

Getting mixed reactions about it... I'll have to see what my brother thinks, he watched it last night apparently.

I thought it was very, very good.

Yes, it's definitely different from the trailers - bit of a red herring there - but not in a disappointing way.

I really felt for Tony. I've had anxiety attacks. It isn't fun. That being a big part of the film was sort of special to me because of my experience with panic. Also, I think that all the Avengers are long overdue for some psychological results from their adventures...

I really really approve of Tony's genius. We get to see him without the suit a lot of the time - this is him proving that he's a hero without the armour, more so than ever. He's clever many times over. This is what got him into the armour in the first place after all.

I don't know if we'll see an Iron Man 4. Depends on how the Avengers 2 goes. The ending tied off some things but again we'll see.

Agreed. I appreciated all of this in it, especially Tony's vulnerability. He seems to drop a lot of his arrogance, and superiority and becomes a lot more real. I definitely appreciated seeing that side of his character in this movie.

I believe an Iron Man 4 would ruin a good thing. It came to a good clean finish. They shouldn't mess with it. Let him show up in Avengers 2 for kicks, and then leave it alone.

After I saw it, I couldn't help thinking of RDJ in Richard III (years ago I'm assuming - it was a fairly old version with Ian McKellan in it) because he is able to interact on-screen well with children. Harley was a good character.

As far as a fourth movie - I think they could pull it off but I'm hearing hints that maybe RDJ doesn't want to. This kind of role is tough with the suit and all...

Favorite scenes from Iron Man 3: Finally got around to doing this

Awesome scenes:

Mansion attack, all the way from Maya arriving to Tony escaping to Tennessee (Though a bit sad after Dummy died)
Iron Legion vs. Extremis scene
Every scene involving suit-up sequences: Tony at the restaurant, Rhodey getting out of the Patriot (With Savin and Killian), all Mark-42 sequences

Awesome/Funny scenes:

Tony/Captors scene (Escaping the 'dungeon' to take-off)
Tony getting his suit and leaving Rhodey by himself

Funny scenes:

Harley attempting to keep Tony in Tennessee
Rhodey's Password
Harley
Mark-42 ("Prodigal Son" scene)
After-credits scene

Spoilers for Iron Man 3: Anxiety Attack in Tennessee

Harley: (Talking about Battle of New York)
Tony: Can you stop? Remember when I told you that I have an anxiety issue?
Harley: Does this subject make--make you edgy?
Tony: Yeah, a little bit. Can I just catch my breath for a second?
Harley: Do you need a plastic bag to breathe into? Do you have medication?
Tony: No.
Harley: Do you need to be on it?
Tony: Probably.
Harley: Do you have PTSD?
Tony: I don't think so.
Harley: Are you going completely mental? I can stop. Do you want me to stop?
