Hey, it's me again, walking a thin line again with my latest idea. We are made in the Image of God. We were made like Him with free will. So here is my idea: Does that make us divine?
I'm not saying we are worthy of worship; after all, that aspect belongs to God alone. But after all are not angels also divine?
My current belief is that all living things have a certain level of divinity, and humans are sort of high up. They're not near the level God is, but to enough of a level that some angels ("Demons") might actually be jealous of, or even fear us. Keep in mind all Divinity still comes directly from God.

What I'm getting at is a form of faith-based Cobha that derives its self from that divinity and a connection with God.

Questions, comments and concerns?

I think that greatly depends on your definition of divine. Would you be willing to supply a definition?

Divinity is the ability of choice the ability to manipulate the threads of fate or redirect the flow of events. This is not any sort of official definition but it seems to be the definition that makes most sense to myself.

Well, I think then that humans only have divinity inasmuch as anything else on the world does. Humans are part of the events and we thus are able to choose what we're going to do in them, but just like animals can. So the only 'special' thing that humans would have above animals is that they have a rational soul and can think through the situation and make moral decisions. I don't think that it means that humans can supernaturally affect these events, though, except in extreme circumstances (e.g. Old Testament prophets)

I am going to offer a little twist on your perspective - I totally see how you got there though.

For me, the free will that we have, the way that we can "redirect the flow of events", is not an ability, but a gift.

I've just tried explaining myself further but deleted it I think I was confusing matters. If you want me to, I will try again. ;)

And an ability can not be a gift? As far as I am concerned every ability we have is a gift from the all mighty.
