In case you don't already know it, I’m writing a series of novellas entitled “Supervillain of the Day.” The first book comes out on January first, and the remaining five will be published at intervals over the course of the year. You can read more about the series at supervillainoftheday.com

To help promote and further develop the series I am also writing and recording a companion audio drama. Not an audio book, a full-scale audio adaption. Like a radio show for the internet.

This is my first time directing audio, so I’m extremely excited. Obviously I have a lot of characters to cast, but anyone who wants to be on the production crew is also more than welcome to chime in! It will be a long term project - right now I’m looking at about 18 episodes for the first seasons, with a very strong possibility that we’ll be doing more seasons in future years.

Formatting doesn’t copy well so for further information on how to audition and what parts are available please check out the blog post: http://supervillains.katielynndaniels.c ... -and-crew/

Vanya! What a wonderful idea; no wonder you are excited! I love the characters, and to see them come to life like this will be amazing. :D So exciting!

Hmm... I might be able to try out for a voice actor, but I don't think I'd be any good at anything else.

I think I want to try auditioning for Kate... so just say her lines, leave pauses where Floyd's are?

* wants to do this extremely much * * but is afraid of her recording equipment...which consists of a cell phone, a really old camera, or a walkman * :'( I'll audition anyway though. * reads all the auditions and laughs to death over some of them * I'll audition as Everybody! That way I won't have to decide. Well, all the girls anyway, of course...

* skips away *

Hm. I have absolutely no recording equipment, to be honest. I only have a digital camera. How should I go about auditioning?

 I'm going for Labcoat. I just have to work on the evil laugh and re-record some parts. Then I'll get totally discouraged and try a different voice.
I couldn't do Mary or Liza to save my life. xD My voice is really too deep for a British lady...

Woohoo, this is fun! Can't wait to hear the finished product. :D

Recording equipment has always been a problem for me too, so I hear your pain. Unfortunately it's also a necessary evil since, if you get a part, you'll have to record all your parts as well as an audition.

What I recommend, Renna, is trying to find a friend or a classmate or someone with better equipment - even a standard computer mic will probably do a pretty good job if you have a nice quiet room.

Oooh! I really really really want to audition, but I'm already narrating PA and reading out loud to my siblings, and I'm not sure my voice could handle all three.

Aww. I was really hoping to have you on board! If you want to do villains, though, you could always join in later on, after you finish PA. (I kill off and replace the villains at regular intervals.)

Abnormal as my recorded voice is, I think I'll try for a small time part. Maybe the Telepath if I'm feeling bold. I could play around with that depending on how I see the lines... Now I just have to find out if I have the recording equipment...

I'm gonna ask Mom if I can audition. :D This looks really cool.

I also want to go for Kate if I decide to audition, but any role would be fun. :D

As I said in my post, I'll have a lot of really small parts, with one scene, half a dozen lines, all that. So if you audition and don't land a big part chances are I'll be emailing you to do those. So especially if you're not sure about time commitment or something mention that you're interested in extras! And if we do crowd stuff, I'm not sure if we'll need actual people to do that or not. That's an SFX thing, which I don't know much about, but it's still a possibility.

I'd probably be good at extras so, larger role or otherwise, I can probably do them. I can probably do different things with my voice for the small parts.

Oh I would love giving this a try! The Telepath sounds like she would be so much fun to do but I don't think my high voice can pull it off. Still... I might have to give auditioning some of these a try.
