You betcha! Our resident logline guru Jordan Smith is having a birthday today! I forget how old he is, but it's twenty-something, which is more candles than I'm fitting on a cupcake, so I just put a little plastic dragon figurine on it instead. Do you think he'll like it?

The fact that Jordan Smith has been saving us from the fatal disease of badly-written loglines (and believe me, this disease has probably claimed at least as many authors as writer's block) is enough reason that we should celebrate his birthday, but he's done so much more than that. So much more... if I tried to recount what he's done in my life alone, I'd be speechifying all day. And if you ask me, that's not a very fun way to spend a birthday. So I'll keep it brief--I would not be where I am today as a writer without Jordan. Peter's Angel might not have been published, for one thing.

So let's celebrate! Bring glitter and penguins and WOLFIE! Where's those gun-thingies you keep firing? Anyway, bring whatever you've got--and don't forget to share how God has used Jordan in your life! I mean, c'mon, don't let me have all the fun embarrassing him.

;)

Happy birthday from the past, Jordan! It's not your birthday yet but it is already. ;)
:dieshappy:

Right here. *launches CRPGs all over room so a huge cloud of enchanted confetti gathers that will bury Jordan when he enters the thread* :dieshappy:

Jordan has helped me with...*thinks* at least two loglines, which in turn have helped me focus on the heart of those respective stories (well, I'm still working on both stories, but it's already helped, and will continue to help as I finish them...or finish the one I started and write the one I haven't written yet ;) )

Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JORDAN! :dieshappy: God bless you in this next year. :D

Happy birthday, Jordan! :D Perhaps by this time next year, you will have written another helpful book. ;)

Happy, happy birthday, Jordan! I have read all the logline posts and a great deal of your blog as well and I have learned so much. Blessings!

Happy, happy 22nd birthday, Jordan! You have helped me with at least two loglines for which I am very grateful. And I'm sure I'll be coming back for help when I need more help. ^_^

*crawls out from under all the confetti*

It's a good thing I thought to check in here…

Aubrey, I like the plastic dragon, though I'm really missing candles right now. My mom decided that 22 was a fire hazard, so I haven't gotten to blow out candles at all this birthday (celebrated last night).

Jonathan, you aren't too far off-base with that perhaps… Except that it might be two more helpful books. ;)

Thank you all! You're making me smile bigger than this: :dieshappy:

*knows what the potential books are about* ^_^ One is on my favorite writing theory subject...

Aw! Well, that won't do. *goes digging in party cupboard* Here we go! Glittery candles! How about we settle for two? *puts two on another cupcake and gives it to Jordan*

Didn't realize you had a daredevil side, there, mister. ;)

*arranges 22 cupcakes in a circle around Jordan with a candle on each one* How's that? RING OF FIRE! (You gotta say it in the voice of the pufferfish from Finding Nemo.)

A talented logline master joins a unique forum where he starts his own workshop, yet he is unaware that on his birthday, a thread would be created in his celebratory honour, and he would be forced to eat cake.

*cough* Sorry, I couldn't resist. ;)

Happy birthday, Jordan! :D Thankyou for your awesome presence on the forum, and for sharing your amazing talent with everyone! :D

People writing loglines about my birthday is just full of win. :dieshappy:

Well, thank you all for the birthday wishes. I do believe that yesterday was the best birthday I've ever had, and a good-sized part of that was due to this little party.

Sorry I'm late to the party and missed all the explosives and confetti and fire hazards from glittery candles. :P

Anyway, I wish you a very happy (belated) birthday, Jordan, and may you enjoy many more. Thank you for introducing me to the concept of loglines and for your help in understanding why they're useful and how to write them appropriately.

*takes out wizard staff and sets off a packet of fireworks that trace a fiery pattern across the sky, reading: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JORDAN!*
