As of tonight, Safari has been unable to open any of the forum pages. I'm running Safari version 5.1.4 on a MacBook and hadn't had any problems until tonight; Dad figures that the problem was caused by the most recent update to Safari. Has anyone else running Safari on a Mac had this problem?

Some specifics: the browser opens the main page, art gallery, and blog just fine. But when I go to visit any of the forums, the browser tries to load the page for a few seconds; not all the graphics on the page load completely. Then Safari tells me that it can't open the page and that is has "repeatedly encountered an error".

Now I use Google Chrome for forum stuff, works great.

So...I'm not sure exactly what is going on here but I figured I should report it.

YES! It's been like that for 4 days now. I'll click on the link to Fantasy, the page will "load", flicker, and "reload" about three times before an error screen shows up explaining, "Safari can't display this webpage." :evil:

The only reason I'm on now is because I downloaded Firefox. I'm hoping Safari will be able to access Holy Worlds Fantasy again.

Note: I am able to go on Historical just fine, it only has problems with Fantasy for some terrible reason. :'(

I tested this after you posted, Calen, and the sci-fi forum is also not loading.

I noticed that the entire website—all the forums—work just fine on the mobile version of Safari. :?

Weird. I'll look into possible bugs in phpBB with Safari. :)

I use Safari, and haven't had any problems... but it's been a while since I've updated.

I just realized the problem started when I did my computer update. Huh. Bummer.

I don't have Internet on my phone, so I wouldn't know. So if you updated your phone would it have the same issue, you think?

Has anyone had any luck on opening HW on Safari yet? It's still not working for me, so I've been using Firefox for now.

Nope. I just tried and it's still having the same issue. Maybe the next update of Safari will fix this problem. I sure hope so...

Okay, so apparently Safari has some problems with caching that might be causing this. They're a side effect from a newer version of Safari so that's likely why it started when you upgraded :)

Try deleting your cookies (http://www.wikihow.com/Delete-Cookies-U ... eb-Browser) and see if that does something. If it doesn't....hope for an update to Safari, and I'll keep snooping around the forum side of things :D

I tried emptying the cache and deleting the cookies. Neither improved the situation. :(

(Though it doesn't really affect me anymore, seeing as I've happily moved to Chrome...)

I'm having the same problem now... that's why I haven't been on in forever. :/ Anyway, I'm hoping to get Firefox installed as soon as the school year wraps up. Hopefully I'll have time to catch up then! :)

It does not work right on the mobile Safari. I use my iPad and it is bugged on it. Main page that is, the layout is off.

There's probably a lot of bugs in various places. I didn't design any of this stuff, and right now I'm basically a high-tech janitor just keeping things up. Like I said somewhere else (I think I said it...maybe I'm losing my mind), in the future I'd like to redesign everything, but work and other busy-ness keep me from doing that, sadly.

Happy to report that HW is working fine in Safari 6. Seems to be all fixed in the update!
