I alluded to this in my "Welcome to the Seven Worlds" announcement post. In the Red World, nothing is certain. Nothing at all. 0. Important Note: This includes apocalyptic events. There is no guarantee that good will triumph over evil. There is no omnipotent force on the side of good, neither is there on evil. Another Important Note: This also applies to prophetic statements. There is no perfect certainty that they must come about...
...however, as history works, certain things will happen. Causing something to happen is known as "doom-wroughting" in the Red World texts, and it is a many faceted process. It is intrinsically bound with the power and actions of all beings involved. This is more or less a meta-physics thing.
Doom-wroughting consists of three stages: the current situation, the path, and the end. A simple example of doom-wroughting is this: the current situation is that your sibling is angry with you. You decide that the end you want to forge is that he/she is happy with you. To provide a path, you give your lucky sibling a gift and say something nice. Thus, the doom is wrought that he/she will be nice to you.
Pretty simple, eh? Maybe even so ridiculously simple that it doesn't deserve a post? Think again. Consider this scenario:
Current Situation: Mankind lives in harmony with the White Cross, strengthening his position. Mankind has an inherent flaw which, while providing an abundance of strength, leaves them susceptible to weapons of subtlety. Path:War, deceit, all measures necessary. Desired End: Man is brought to a point of decision, where he will choose, because of his flaw, to do the will of evil, and undo the White Cross's dominion. Now that's a pretty doom right there! The question is, with so massive an end, it will be hard... Now to the particulars of doom-wroughting. Is much like a math equation where numbers are multiplied. Pretty much though, it comes down to this: does the being attempting to forge a doom have enough power to make it happen? Can Narok and Aerykun and their associates pull off this doom? That is the question that will decide the fate of the Seven Worlds...
