Around the forums, you are likely to notice that different users have different colors associated with their names, alongside a particular colored bar (we like to call them rings) below their names when they post. These colors help differentiate users who have different roles in making Holy Worlds successful.
Editors:
Editors are a team of volunteers who help maintain quality in posting around Holy Worlds. Editors clean up typos, misspellings, and simple grammar errors in others posts. This means they have the power to edit any post on the forums, a power they are expected to wield responsibly. To recognize them for their contribution, they are awarded the blue color. Also, if openings for new Moderators arise, current Editors are likely to be given preference in consideration when new Moderators are brought on.
Moderators
Moderators are a group of mature members who have been given the authority to moderate the forum. They make sure the forum runs smoothly, usually tasked with maintenance of certain sections of the forums. They have power over threads, including the ability to edit posts, lock and unlock threads, and move threads and posts around the forums. The Moderators are the working hands that manage the machinery of Holy Worlds. They tend to be long-time members willing to commit to frequently visiting Holy Worlds and occasionally helping with any menial projects that help keep the forums in order.
Captains
Captains are the highest authority on the forum, with the Administrator as their leader. They are not only responsible for guiding the individual forums, but they are also required to guide the entire vision of Holy Worlds. They are trusted individuals, who hold the highest level of responsibility; a great deal of time commitment, willingness to serve, maturity and self-confidence is expected from the Captains, as well as the ability to see a task or project through to completion. They are the go to people on questions of policy and approval to changes within Holy Worlds and any concerns or thoughts you may want to bring up. Captains will usually either be kept on hand for providing sage advice or function to keep track of particular projects or tasks that require high levels of commitment and extensive experience on the forums.
Honour Roll Members
Honour Roll Members are users who contribute meaningfully to Holy Worlds. The purple color is used to reward and designate those who post quality posts frequently, sharing stories, concepts, and advice with other writers extensively and helping to build the community of Holy Worlds. Promotion to this group is unsolicited; when the leadership decides to recognize a user for their contribution, they will find themselves ushered into this group. This group confers the ability to edit posts, similar to editors, simply out of respect for the contribution of the user, and also to provide an element of reward, and to keep Holy Worlds increasingly free of typographical errors.
Administrators
Administrators are a rare breed who take personal responsibility in everything but a legal sense for everything on the forums. They lead the Captains and provide overall direction for Holy Worlds, as well as managing all kinds of mechanical tasks. Administrators are as powerful as they come on the forums, but this makes them no less human, so feel free to ask questions of Admins as much as anyone else. Admins are typically users who have served the forums for years, demonstrate strong commitment to its success, and are willing to commit considerable time and energy to be on-call at all times to make Holy Worlds successful.
If you have any questions then please just ask.
