I love the snow. It is cool and adds a nice effect.
I hate the snow. It slows my browser speed so that I can type about five times faster than it is prepared to enter my info into the box.
The solution is obviously to turn the snow off.
The problem is that when you click "Toggle Snow" and the snow goes away, it only goes away for that one page. As soon as I go to another page on this same site the snow is back. That means I have to toggle it off everytime. That's not so bad, but if it could be made to stick off or on that would be nice.

Understood. I have the same problem. :)

The thing is that although it is very easy to add a toggle link for one page... it is quite a bit harder to make it 'sticky.' I am still working on it. :)

I don't have any problems with the snow. I keep hearing that the snow causes problems, but it doesn't for me... So now I'm wondering why I don't have a problem...

It completely depends on your browser of choice, its version number, the number of add-ons you have installed on it, the number of tabs you have open, the cpu power of your computer, and the number of hair follicles on the pet rat of Santa's elf who is in charge of timely snow flakes. ;)

*shakes head * Oh Jay! Only you would think there was a pet RAT in charge of the snowflakes. *chuckles*

* shakes head * No, the elf is in charge. The rat is his pet.

Anyways, I don't have problems with it myself, but it does use up an entire cpu. :)

It doesn't hurt me so much either when I don't have multiple tabs open and am chatting on one of them. I am typing at about 3/4 of the normal rate with the snow on right now, so don't be too worried. On top of that, my computer doesn't have the most recent cpu in the world. Maybe Santa's elf's rat has a grudge against me or something. Or maybe it has more to do with the lunar phase...

Wow, I just realized the snow is coordinated with the position of the mouse! That might explain why the snow is more difficult with typing because the cursor is always moving. Err wait... is it coordinated with the mouse? I can't quite tell anymore.

For me, the snow is erratic. Sometimes it slows things down, sometimes it doesn't. Usually if things get sluggish, it's when the snow is covering the entire screen.

It does appear that, if you put your mouse far to either side of the screen, the snow drifts in that direction. Ooh... * plays with cursor for a moment *

I have a fairly serious problem with the snow causing my browser to slow and choke. But now that I realize it's the snow's fault, I can toggle the snow. :D It's pretty, though...

If I have multiple windows open, and I'm chatting in one of them, my computer goes "wacky". "Wacky" as in it says it's not responding and tries to kick me offline, opening about nine error messages, and overall irritating me.

My brother installed the beta version of firefox 4 some weeks ago, much to my annoyance. But he pointed out we could switch between them, so I've been using my usual firefox installation. But yesterday he switched back to 4 and lo and behold! The snow works!

It is so pretty... and it is so cool that it changes direction with the mouse! I never made the connection!

But yeah, I had to stick my nose in here and give my own version of the snow issue.

I have the same problems with the snow. I even have REALLY fast internet here. The computer fan goes on and everything gets slow after the snow has been going for a minute or less. It is a real storm here with the snow and the computer fan going. :P

Lucky Elanor and Airilyn... you don't have a snow problem.

At least it's not a blizzard! ;)

It isn't connected with internet speed. It is your CPU. :)

I noticed that too. I think. I don't think it for sure catches every page every time but it's a lot better. Thanks! =)

LOL, Reiyan.

I'm not sure that's what's happening, actually, since I was on at the time he tried to do something else concerning snow... but whatever it is that he did or didn't do it's helped immensely. :D

(It still works on Firefox 4, and not on whatever the non-beta version is... )

For me, the snow waits for about 10 or 15 seconds before it starts to fall, and then I have to toggle it, though if I just glance at a page, I don't have to. Occasionally it never falls no matter how long I'm on a page.

Translation of the Dark Lord's First Sentence:
It was no longer frustrating my opponents because they had found jerry-rig setups to fix it, such as clicking it off every time they open the page.

Translation of Sentence Two:
That trick has grown old, and I am working on another one right now...

I hadn't noticed! But it's very nice. It wasn't behaving at all, it is almost spring, and it was starting to make me look like this:

The Rainbow in the Storm- My Blog

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
