Hey guys, HW will be participating in a podcast promotional piece, and I need a tagline that defines us. Wanna help? Here are the taglines of the other participating podcasts. See if this helps stimulate your brain power at all. :D

The Sci-Fi Christian: bringing you theology at warp speed

Geekually Yoked: the world’s best married Christian geek podcast

Storymen: the intersection of pop culture, theology, and history

Strangers and Aliens: exploring faith and imagination

Are You Just Watching?: Movie, book, and TV show reviews with critical thinking for Christians

Gamestore Prophets: The show where geeks and God followers collide

So far, only one has come to me:

The Holy Worlds Podcast: Writing for the glory of God

Author:  Constable Jaynin Mimetes [ April 14th, 2013, 6:38 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Tagline

Yeah, my first thought is that a shortened version of our mission statement should work. (Equipping young writers... something along those lines.) It's not as catchy as the others, but then, being a scifi podcast isn't our main focus.

Also: what is this exactly? Anyway I can help out? 'cause science fiction and I are inseperable companions, and I'd love to poke my nose into the business of some of the other participating podcasts. :D

Well our subtitle is "Community of Christ-centered creativity". It could be adapted to fit somehow.

Perhaps something like
The Holy Worlds Podcast: Training writers to glorify God

Author:  Airianna Valenshia [ April 15th, 2013, 10:29 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Tagline

Sure, Katie! I'd be happy to have you help. :D In fact... I was trying to decide if this would be a perfect time to run your supervillian podcast. The theme is superheros, though..... So I was trying to decide if it would work or not. If not, I was thinking of doing a review on the Avengers or something.

Post subject:  Re: Tagline

If the theme is superheroes of course it works! You could ask, if you liked, but where would superheroes be without supervillains? I consider my work to be a parody of superhero fiction, and while I may lack the central figure of such stories I have many of the genre conventions. :D * is clearly very excited *

Quote:
Holy Worlds is here to encourage, equip, train,
challenge, and facilitate quality and effective use of niche media genres
for the glory of God and the furtherance of Christian culture.

That's what I was trying to quote earlier. So an abridged version of that would be, um... too complicated for me to come up with right now.

Hmm... "Encouraging the effective use of niche media genres for the glory of God"? Or just "Encouraging the use of niche media genres for the glory of God"?

I like it!!! I shall send it off. :D

Oh, and I realized I never answered you, Katie. :P

I think we should do your series for the podcast. It'll be great! Now I just have to read the books...

Anyways, we can sort it out through e-mail. :D

Post subject:  Re: Tagline

Yes, email! And books! And audio drama! Or both! And we could get a third person on there to make it more interesting. A fan, or one of my co-authors or something. <grin>

Yes, totally! It will be epic!

What is the time frame on this thing, incidentally?

I wish I knew. Ben tells me sometime in May. :P

Okay, the dates just came to me. We have to have the podcast up between May 12-18th. So, we need to get it recorded before then so that Grace has time to edit any mistakes we make. I just got our promo clip, so all is in order. :D

Katie, can you give me a list of people who had read your books and would be willing to join us? I want this podcast to be a bit more relaxed than normal, since I haven't read the books. More just a time to let you talk about the series, what you're doing with it, the audio drama, and so forth. We'll have some structure, though. :D

Post subject:  Re: Tagline

Top recommendations:

Elizabeth Kirkwood
Captain Nemo

Further people I know have read it and whom I like:

Aubrey Hansen
Jordan Smith
Jordan Miller (possibly? He's my cover designer. Not sure how much he's actually read.)
Grace Pennington

I'm sure there are other people who've read it but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I am available most evenings; after 8PM CDT is when it's usually quietest around here. I am not available tomorrow night.

I have a 1 minute trailer for the audio drama we can stick in there as well, if you think that would be fitting.

I'll talk to Lizzie. She hasn't co-hosted before, so I think she would be perfect. :D

Yes, we can put your promo in at the end. We will have a promo in the beginning, and then we can have one at the end. :D

After 8 will work for me, as I don't get off till 8 anyways.

I sent an e-mail to Lizzie.

*jumps into thread* Hi! I'd love to cohost, if we can work out the times. :D I'm heading out of town on the 16th, so I wouldn't be able to do it after the 15th, most likely. I'm flexible beyond that, though. :)

How about the 13th? Would that work for you both? What time? Oh, and Katie, we'll need to develop some launching off points/questions.

Hmm... questions...

The 13th should work fine for me. :D Are we going for 8ish CDT?

*grins* Questions... My little sister could come up with more. *cough*

Sounds good. I was sick over the weekend, so I didn't get anything done. However, we have a slight problem...

We have no place to post our podcasts. :P

Post subject:  Re: Tagline

Oh, we can post new podcasts on the blog. That's easy. And even with the complication of bandwidth charges that might be going on we can still post new podcasts on the blog. We'll just have to look into possibly moving again.
